00:03:22 ◼   ► role like being out in the middle of the [TS]

00:03:24 ◼   ► Delta Quadrant with no support and you [TS]

00:03:27 ◼   ► know like she makes it happen like she [TS]

00:03:28 ◼   ► gets her ship and she gets everybody [TS]

00:03:31 ◼   ► home and if I've noticed a trend with [TS]

00:03:34 ◼   ► Star Trek captain's like this happens we [TS]

00:03:36 ◼   ► could with Kirk abs we could with the [TS]

00:03:38 ◼   ► card even happens with Archer that [TS]

00:03:41 ◼   ► sometimes when things get really rough [TS]

00:03:42 ◼   ► like the they kind of just go earn they [TS]

00:03:46 ◼   ► just kind of ground to get it done and [TS]

00:03:48 ◼   ► that's not really the way that Captain [TS]

00:03:49 ◼   ► Janeway runs her ship like she's very [TS]

00:03:52 ◼   ► much more of a diplomat consensus [TS]

00:03:55 ◼   ► builder and i think that there's a lot [TS]

00:03:57 ◼   ► of lessons to learn in the way that she [TS]

00:03:59 ◼   ► kind of you know basically runs things [TS]

00:04:02 ◼   ► and I just think she's a wonderful [TS]

00:04:03 ◼   ► leader I like Janeway I was talking to [TS]

00:04:05 ◼   ► somebody and I think I think might even [TS]

00:04:10 ◼   ► I i think and voyager is not my favorite [TS]

00:04:55 ◼   ► no the only problem with Captain Janeway [TS]

00:05:05 ◼   ► surrounded her with I mean this is my [TS]

00:05:07 ◼   ► this is one of the reasons I don't think [TS]

00:05:08 ◼   ► voyager is as strong as I think the [TS]

00:05:10 ◼   ► supporting cast is good around her and [TS]

00:05:12 ◼   ► if you surrounded her with some of the [TS]

00:05:13 ◼   ► stronger characters from maybe some [TS]

00:05:15 ◼   ► other star trek shows the show would be [TS]

00:05:17 ◼   ► better but that character i like i like [TS]

00:05:19 ◼   ► Janeway a lot i think she was it really [TS]

00:05:21 ◼   ► interesting character her approach and [TS]

00:05:38 ◼   ► Picard the consultative kind of Picardy [TS]

00:05:42 ◼   ► approach to solving problems in dealing [TS]

00:05:44 ◼   ► with a crew and I always I always like [TS]

00:05:46 ◼   ► that i like i like Kate Mulgrew's [TS]

00:05:48 ◼   ► performance I think she does a good job [TS]

00:05:49 ◼   ► i'm glad that they recast the part after [TS]

00:05:51 ◼   ► two days no yeah the original captain [TS]

00:05:54 ◼   ► was terrible giorgia visual yeah I i [TS]

00:05:57 ◼   ► think that there's a I mean I think [TS]

00:05:59 ◼   ► there's a real market her character [TS]

00:06:01 ◼   ► house lake in the first season of [TS]

00:06:03 ◼   ► voyager is very interesting because she [TS]

00:06:04 ◼   ► finds herself out there alone without a [TS]

00:06:07 ◼   ► lot of the support systems that captains [TS]

00:06:09 ◼   ► typically have and you see her really [TS]

00:06:11 ◼   ► wrestling with moral decisions over the [TS]

00:06:13 ◼   ► course of the show like where she's [TS]

00:06:15 ◼   ► really put in situation's where she has [TS]

00:06:17 ◼   ► to choose between her principles and [TS]

00:06:20 ◼   ► like just doing what's most expedient [TS]

00:06:22 ◼   ► and I think it makes for some great [TS]

00:06:24 ◼   ► television and i just love the character [TS]

00:06:26 ◼   ► but I feel in some in some ways that [TS]

00:06:28 ◼   ► Janeway is I all look at captain is a [TS]

00:06:31 ◼   ► management position and i'm not there [TS]

00:06:33 ◼   ► really boy color is your Starfleet [TS]

00:06:34 ◼   ► parachute but but mainly I don't like [TS]

00:06:37 ◼   ► she was actually like because of the [TS]

00:06:39 ◼   ► heightened stakes of being stranded and [TS]

00:06:42 ◼   ► all that like Janeway was a captain who [TS]

00:06:44 ◼   ► really had to deal with you know serious [TS]

00:06:47 ◼   ► week-to-week management decisions like [TS]

00:06:50 ◼   ► not just how to [TS]

00:06:51 ◼   ► people happy but like you know and not [TS]

00:06:53 ◼   ► just like tricking aliens out of to get [TS]

00:06:56 ◼   ► the ship out of danger but like trying [TS]

00:06:58 ◼   ► to get the the two different groups to [TS]

00:07:00 ◼   ► work together and and and navigate these [TS]

00:07:02 ◼   ► you know making these weird decisions [TS]

00:07:03 ◼   ► about where they were going to go to try [TS]

00:07:05 ◼   ► to get back home and it was it's an [TS]

00:07:06 ◼   ► interesting character for that reason to [TS]

00:07:08 ◼   ► well i mean if if I may say she she does [TS]

00:07:12 ◼   ► a lot with what she's given check out i [TS]

00:12:15 ◼   ► really angry at the Klingons i'm always [TS]

00:12:17 ◼   ► loved Captain Kirk and his and his [TS]

00:12:21 ◼   ► trickery [TS]

00:12:22 ◼   ► I i really enjoyed the fact that he [TS]

00:12:23 ◼   ► although he was an action hero and he [TS]

00:12:25 ◼   ► would be happy to fight a giant lizard [TS]

00:12:27 ◼   ► man if he placed on a desert planet with [TS]

00:12:30 ◼   ► a giant lizard man who wouldn't [TS]

00:12:32 ◼   ► she'll ask you to do I like one of my [TS]

00:12:36 ◼   ► favorite Kirk things is on the corbomite [TS]

00:12:39 ◼   ► maneuver where he talks his way out of [TS]

00:12:42 ◼   ► the situation where he is just bluffing [TS]

00:12:44 ◼   ► and he Bluffs a giant spaceship into [TS]

00:12:46 ◼   ► surrendering to him essentially which is [TS]

00:12:49 ◼   ► pretty awesome [TS]

00:12:50 ◼   ► and then in Star Trek to the echo of [TS]

00:12:51 ◼   ► that with obviously a lot more attention [TS]

00:12:53 ◼   ► and stakes in a much larger budget as [TS]

00:12:55 ◼   ► well and the way that he kind of saves [TS]

00:12:59 ◼   ► them from destruction at the hands of [TS]

00:13:00 ◼   ► con with his trickery i really love that [TS]

00:13:04 ◼   ► about Captain Kirk board more than the [TS]

00:13:06 ◼   ► seduction of alien women and being a [TS]

00:13:09 ◼   ► giant lizard people I just I really like [TS]

00:13:11 ◼   ► that that part of kirk and also his [TS]

00:13:12 ◼   ► sense of humor that when McCoy tries to [TS]

00:13:14 ◼   ► prescribe him salad [TS]

00:13:16 ◼   ► he can give them a look and groans and [TS]

00:13:19 ◼   ► then he eats the salad [TS]

00:13:20 ◼   ► the other thing as I'm sitting here [TS]

00:13:22 ◼   ► thinking about it he's the one who goes [TS]

00:13:25 ◼   ► through the protagonist journey right [TS]

00:13:29 ◼   ► Picard is always level-headed [TS]

00:13:30 ◼   ► intelligent rational and you know [TS]

00:13:32 ◼   ► sometimes he slips but most of the time [TS]

00:13:34 ◼   ► he's he's totally rational Ben Sisko [TS]

00:13:36 ◼   ► very rational very mellow good manager [TS]

00:13:39 ◼   ► Janeway terrific manager Kirk is the one [TS]

00:13:43 ◼   ► who nearly bashes the lizard guys head [TS]

00:13:46 ◼   ► in with a rock and then he lets his [TS]

00:13:49 ◼   ► better the better angels of his nature [TS]

00:13:51 ◼   ► overcome not going to key right today [TS]

00:13:54 ◼   ► but he's not a good captain as much a [TS]

00:13:56 ◼   ► seasonally liking captor and unbelief [TS]

00:13:58 ◼   ► away like a captain there without their [TS]

00:14:01 ◼   ► and against his will take pattern after [TS]

00:14:03 ◼   ► Captain reason [TS]

00:14:05 ◼   ► fair enough um assess you have a kid you [TS]

00:14:10 ◼   ► have some captain talk for us this this [TS]

00:14:12 ◼   ► is one that has vexed me I've gotta say [TS]

00:14:14 ◼   ► I thought about this a lot i thought [TS]

00:14:16 ◼   ► well do i do I stick to what people [TS]

00:14:19 ◼   ► expect do i pick one of the five [TS]

00:14:22 ◼   ► captains who were also the lead of the [TS]

00:14:24 ◼   ► room series is doing something other [TS]

00:14:26 ◼   ► than that trying too hard then I thought [TS]
