00:00:02   comfortable number 336 January 2070 [TS]

00:00:11   welcome back everybody to the [TS]

00:00:12   uncomfortable i am your host Jason cell [TS]

00:00:14   we're here for a fun thing sort of like [TS]

00:00:16   a draft but also sort of like a a pitch [TS]

00:00:19   session like we did a while ago about TV [TS]

00:00:21   reboots we're going to talk about comic [TS]

00:00:23   book movies now the idea here is there [TS]

00:00:25   have been a lot of comic book movies [TS]

00:00:26   lately especially superhero movies and [TS]

00:00:29   we in our in our conversations not on [TS]

00:00:32   the show we talked a little bit about [TS]

00:00:34   how maybe they were all kind of say me [TS]

00:00:38   and it might be nice to see some [TS]

00:00:40   different kinds of comic book-based [TS]

00:00:43   films in the future and so we're just [TS]

00:00:47   gonna throw these ideas out there of [TS]

00:00:48   comics that we would like to see made [TS]

00:00:50   into movies and maybe some ideas of what [TS]

00:00:52   those movies might be and so yeah it's a [TS]

00:00:55   little mini draft little idea session [TS]

00:00:57   joining me to have have some sure some [TS]

00:01:00   ideas about comic book movies that we [TS]

00:01:03   that we would like to see are these fine [TS]

00:01:05   people i'm going to introduce them in [TS]

00:01:07   the order in which they are going to [TS]

00:01:08   tell you their ideas first of his first [TS]

00:01:11   time on the uncomfortable but you may [TS]

00:01:13   have heard him he is the host of [TS]

00:01:15   sophomore lit on this very network it's [TS]

00:01:17   john mccoy hello John welcome [TS]

00:01:19   hey kids yeah that works it's good to [TS]

00:01:21   keep kids comics this too ! after all of [TS]

00:01:25   those were my bank in the spin Iraq [TS]

00:01:28   David you'll also hear hello hello [TS]

00:01:31   enough said Monte Ashley base front is [TS]

00:01:35   that that removing this amount comic [TS]

00:01:37   book but the moistest jaan hai one of [TS]

00:01:53   these days somebody's distance a pass my [TS]

00:01:57   mind I think the most off-putting thing [TS]

00:01:58   that I could do would be not do a silly [TS]

00:02:00   voice or character or ténèbres what's [TS]

00:02:03   wrong with you feeling okay let's just [TS]

00:02:06   say hello Lisa Schmeisser you'd be high [TS]

00:02:08   all right John is so nice to meet you [TS]

00:02:10   via podcast I'm excited to be honest [TS]

00:02:12   okay and i'll pick Alaska's and this the [TS]

00:02:15   host it's a fun it's fun group and of [TS]

00:02:17   course all comic books are allowed [TS]

00:02:19   Monty also ask me I think it was monday [TS]

00:02:20   because he likes to really stretch the [TS]

00:02:22   rules if comic strips would be allowed I [TS]

00:02:23   said [TS]

00:02:24   your you thought that was a stretch okay [TS]

00:02:26   well and it may get weirder I don't even [TS]

00:02:28   know and that's okay because dance the [TS]

00:02:30   robot I consider a robot now so finally [TS]

00:02:34   baby blues the motion picture [TS]

00:02:36   I'm just saying Ziggy the Cinematic [TS]

00:02:38   Universe amazing now [TS]

00:02:41   alright so uh so here we go we do a [TS]

00:02:43   couple of rounds and then we'll bring [TS]

00:02:44   out our kind of also also mentioned and [TS]

00:02:47   that's a podcast John what do you have [TS]

00:02:51   for us as a as a comic book movie [TS]

00:02:54   well it's it's been over a decade since [TS]

00:02:58   the Casper movie and I haven't been that [TS]

00:03:01   long it has been night 1995 i think that [TS]

00:03:05   the Harvey Comics universe is is right [TS]

00:03:08   for a gritty reboot so a picture if you [TS]

00:03:12   will the the it opens with Casper fading [TS]

00:03:16   back into consciousness trying to [TS]

00:03:18   remember who killed him and Casper of [TS]

00:03:21   course will be played by daniel [TS]

00:03:23   radcliffe as since he's already played a [TS]

00:03:26   dead guy and he's got enough arm and he [TS]

00:03:30   is aided in his in his quest to find his [TS]

00:03:34   murderer by windy who is the goth Wiccan [TS]

00:03:38   who inadvertently summons cast for back [TS]

00:03:40   from the dead [TS]

00:03:41   I in and I think that she should be [TS]

00:03:44   played by mae whitman given the strength [TS]

00:03:47   of her her portrayal in in the scott [TS]

00:03:52   pilgrim movie and so that the two of [TS]

00:03:55   them go off and and their aided in their [TS]

00:03:57   quest by the demon from Hell hot stuff [TS]

00:04:00   who seems to be on their side but may [TS]

00:04:03   have a sinister motive for what he does [TS]

00:04:04   and I think we might my tap patton [TS]

00:04:09   oswalt is our kind of a stunt casting [TS]

00:04:11   for that and then also somewhere in [TS]

00:04:14   there we have to fit in little dot who [TS]

00:04:16   was after all the original Manic Pixie [TS]

00:04:19   dream girl with her obsession with polka [TS]

00:04:21   dots so I assume she would be played by [TS]

00:04:24   Zooey Deschanel of course as as as the [TS]

00:04:29   story unravels and as plots are revealed [TS]

00:04:34   of we we do finally find out that Casper [TS]

00:04:38   was in fact killed by richie rich so [TS]

00:04:40   Richard Richie Rich just likes hunting [TS]

00:04:43   the most dangerous game is that what [TS]

00:04:44   you're telling me I I that event I I'm [TS]

00:04:47   spitballing this out here for some [TS]

00:04:49   suggestions now because I'm you know [TS]

00:04:51   there's a lot of the Harvey universe [TS]

00:04:53   that we didn't get in here you know sad [TS]

00:04:55   sack is not in here baby Huey baby Huey [TS]

00:04:59   Lou yeah i know so if everyone have some [TS]

00:05:04   suggestions on what to do i'm thinking [TS]

00:05:07   you know we could we could tap visionary [TS]

00:05:09   director zack snyder for this info was [TS]

00:05:12   solid and give him another universe to [TS]

00:05:14   mess up yeah he would love to do that [TS]

00:05:16   murder scene where Casper is murdered i [TS]

00:05:18   think he would really enjoy making that [TS]

00:05:20   a gritty Richie Richie Rich's totally [TS]

00:05:23   like an angry and character and he loves [TS]

00:05:25   and Rand exactly can get a little Batman [TS]

00:05:27   action with cadbury is counseling Richie [TS]

00:05:29   Rich on maybe maybe touching a little [TS]

00:05:32   bit about his methods and killing in [TS]

00:05:34   hunting and killing a few other humans [TS]

00:05:36   could be yeah i'm looking forward to the [TS]

00:05:39   Stinger when though that's when it sets [TS]

00:05:41   up the sequel to yeah i was going well I [TS]

00:05:43   was going to ask what where does this [TS]

00:05:44   franchise I mean we won't know until we [TS]

00:05:47   see if the gritty reboot of Casper takes [TS]

00:05:50   off but what might be some places this [TS]

00:05:52   universe could go some spin-offs from it [TS]

00:05:55   do we go to a mutt & Jeff next week [TS]

00:05:58   where we end I was thinking that because [TS]

00:06:00   we we get all the big heavy hitters the [TS]

00:06:03   Harvey universe in on this one this one [TS]

00:06:06   tentpole movies it's your Avengers it's [TS]

00:06:09   your Justice League exactly then all [TS]

00:06:11   them can have their own spin offs or [TS]

00:06:13   netflix series you know oh nice I think [TS]

00:06:17   that I don't know why they haven't done [TS]

00:06:18   this already quite frankly huh [TS]

00:06:20   incredibly bit of transparent this is [TS]

00:06:23   going far better than I had even hoped i [TS]

00:06:25   have to say [TS]

00:06:26   that's amazing [TS]

00:06:29   anything else or is that I mean that was [TS]

00:06:32   a lot but there's a lot you did the [TS]

00:06:33   casting do I appreciate that stunt [TS]

00:06:35   casting I wasn't I wasn't planning on [TS]

00:06:36   well Casting I don't feel bad now this [TS]

00:06:39   is my this is my first time on i thought [TS]

00:06:41   i'd take notes maybe I was wrong [TS]

00:06:43   you know I think I don't take at Fantasy [TS]

00:06:46   casting is one of the things we enjoy [TS]

00:06:47   quite great quite greatly i think yousa [TS]

00:06:49   I would be disappointed at least it [TS]

00:06:51   didn't throw in some casting decisions [TS]

00:06:53   when we get to her you know I have them [TS]

00:06:55   i know you do I David lure of how Sheree [TS]

00:06:59   sure your pitch with us [TS]

00:07:01   well I I went a little more serious for [TS]

00:07:03   the first round now I know but it's a [TS]

00:07:06   bit feel like I think and it's it's a [TS]

00:07:11   book that is kind of well the book [TS]

00:07:14   itself we know it's an actual book and [TS]

00:07:17   the comic book a lot of people didn't [TS]

00:07:20   know about Michael Chabon wrote The [TS]

00:07:23   Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and clay [TS]

00:07:25   which is about the history of the comic [TS]

00:07:27   book industry and his two characters [TS]

00:07:31   created a book called The Escapist and [TS]

00:07:34   dark horse comics put out a quarterly [TS]

00:07:36   series for a couple years the Amazing [TS]

00:07:38   Adventures of the escapist there's even [TS]

00:07:40   an issue written by Will Eisner where he [TS]

00:07:42   gets to meet the spirit and it's kind of [TS]

00:07:46   amazing i mean it is pitch perfect you [TS]

00:07:49   know 4002 I know people are shocked that [TS]

00:07:52   i would like this and so I would love [TS]

00:07:54   they've been trying to make a Kavalier [TS]

00:07:56   and clay movie for years they've been [TS]

00:07:58   talking about all it'll be a miniseries [TS]

00:08:00   it's actually been adapted for the stage [TS]

00:08:02   I want to see the comic book I want to [TS]

00:08:05   see the escapist and and luna moth and [TS]

00:08:08   all of the other characters and his [TS]

00:08:09   nemesis mr. machine gun and I want to [TS]

00:08:12   see a little bit of that meta pulling [TS]

00:08:14   aside the curtain going oh there's [TS]

00:08:16   Kavalier and clay back there but we're [TS]

00:08:18   really focused on the escapist I think [TS]

00:08:20   that would be a really cool movie maybe [TS]

00:08:22   really cool miniseries I don't know [TS]

00:08:24   don't remind me what it what the power [TS]

00:08:26   dizzy izzy like the the spirit or [TS]

00:08:28   something where he's just a guy or does [TS]

00:08:30   your powers he i think he has powers as [TS]

00:08:33   I recall he is a member of the League of [TS]

00:08:35   the gold key and he has learned certain [TS]

00:08:37   mental tricks [TS]

00:08:39   his main thing is being able to escape [TS]

00:08:40   from any on trade he's like he's like [TS]

00:08:43   Houdini and so he gets tied up and [TS]

00:08:46   chained up and you see this is a movie [TS]

00:08:48   with like really crazy art direction [TS]

00:08:51   sort of like the the Dick Tracy movie [TS]

00:08:55   tried to look like a comic from the [TS]

00:08:57   forties [TS]

00:08:58   oh yeah yeah I would love to see it [TS]

00:09:00   where the the few times we get to peek [TS]

00:09:03   behind the curtain [TS]

00:09:05   it's very realistic and very drab 1940s [TS]

00:09:08   New York and when we're back in the [TS]

00:09:10   reality of the the escapist it is very [TS]

00:09:13   much the the bright colors and you know [TS]

00:09:16   just done well unlike Dick Tracy there's [TS]

00:09:22   a rogue's gallery in here or in a [TS]

00:09:24   collection of characters that you know [TS]

00:09:26   the it reminds me of I mean this is what [TS]

00:09:28   watch men has to where it's this [TS]

00:09:32   collection of essentially Golden Age [TS]

00:09:34   type characters and their i love [TS]

00:09:36   whenever any I'm any modern take on on [TS]

00:09:40   the sort of Heroes has that collection [TS]

00:09:42   of characters that are all in her [TS]

00:09:44   interacting that the tick did that the [TS]

00:09:47   animated series had a had a league of of [TS]

00:09:50   Golden Age heroes i just i love those i [TS]

00:09:52   love those kinds of characters they're [TS]

00:09:54   just so enjoyable to watch [TS]

00:09:55   I mean seriously if you can find copies [TS]

00:09:57   of the the darkers I mean they're [TS]

00:09:59   they're you know they're 80 page but [TS]

00:10:02   they're in the nice format they're not [TS]

00:10:04   comic-book comic books right the graphic [TS]

00:10:06   novel style yeah they are comic book [TS]

00:10:08   comic books you snob and well you know [TS]

00:10:11   they're perfect bound the only [TS]

00:10:13   difference is they're perfect bound [TS]

00:10:14   their Nazi April is what they are [TS]

00:10:16   yes that's that's that's that's the [TS]

00:10:18   ticket they're not stable [TS]

00:10:20   David hate staples Monty Ashley what [TS]

00:10:22   about you what's your what's your first [TS]

00:10:24   comic book movie pitch well i'm a big [TS]

00:10:27   fan of a writer and artist named evan [TS]

00:10:29   dorkin his name is most popular comic [TS]

00:10:32   books include milk and cheese and hectic [TS]

00:10:34   planet which is also a pirate core both [TS]

00:10:37   of which would be a lot of fun and I [TS]

00:10:38   would go to them but explaining them [TS]

00:10:40   would be kind of complicated row or are [TS]

00:10:42   we going to get inducted into a very [TS]

00:10:43   special club tonight we're not the elbow [TS]

00:10:45   club is great but if you had a pilot [TS]

00:10:49   that you can see an adult swim sometimes [TS]

00:10:51   the Evan door [TS]

00:10:52   can project i would like to see a movie [TS]

00:10:54   of is Superman and Batman world's [TS]

00:10:56   funnest who [TS]

00:10:58   yes this is a comic in which Superman [TS]

00:11:01   and Batman are bedeviled by mr. mixes [TS]

00:11:03   pit lick and bat-mite who are [TS]

00:11:05   suspiciously similar interdimensional [TS]

00:11:07   pimps who are not omnipotent basically [TS]

00:11:11   what happens is Superman Batman hanging [TS]

00:11:13   around mr. mixes picnic and that might [TS]

00:11:15   show up i think mr. makes his pit like [TS]

00:11:18   accidentally killed Robin so bad might [TS]

00:11:20   accidentally on purpose kill Superman so [TS]

00:11:23   mixer makes a bit like Phil's Batman and [TS]

00:11:27   then they kind of get into a bigger [TS]

00:11:28   fight and destroy the entire universe [TS]

00:11:30   that universe was earth one which was at [TS]

00:11:33   that point being drawn by dave gibbons [TS]

00:11:34   so they get in a chase that goes to the [TS]

00:11:36   Phantom Zone ends up in North to which [TS]

00:11:38   is drawn by sheldon mold off who by the [TS]

00:11:40   way to the original appearance of that [TS]

00:11:42   might and the original they destroy that [TS]

00:11:44   universe and throughout the course of [TS]

00:11:46   this comic book they go to like 40 [TS]

00:11:47   different universes like they go to the [TS]

00:11:50   dark knight returns universe which is [TS]

00:11:51   being drawn by Frank Miller they go to [TS]

00:11:53   the DC Animated universe drawn by [TS]

00:11:55   produced him they go to the crisis on [TS]

00:11:57   Infinite Earths world they are super [TS]

00:11:59   friends they go to earth prime which is [TS]

00:12:00   our world being photographs every [TS]

00:12:03   universe gets dark men and I'll get [TS]

00:12:05   destroyed through hilarious fourth wall [TS]

00:12:06   breaking and it's great to my proposal [TS]

00:12:08   is that we have a movie that starts in [TS]

00:12:10   the current DC Universe like the zack [TS]

00:12:13   snyder Superman vs Batman grimy really [TS]

00:12:18   dark and portents that so that we can [TS]

00:12:20   destroy and leave it in ruins yes I like [TS]

00:12:23   this and the lot of them they go to the [TS]

00:12:25   tim burton Batman they go to the [TS]

00:12:26   scripture read Superman they go to [TS]

00:12:28   batman the animated series the arrow TV [TS]

00:12:30   series the flash TV series from 1990 [TS]

00:12:32   Swamp Thing anything remotely DC [TS]

00:12:36   Universe we just have them show up in [TS]

00:12:38   for 5 to 10 minutes destroy the universe [TS]

00:12:39   and move on to someone i have passed it [TS]

00:12:48   I don't think we need huge stars up top [TS]

00:12:51   because we're gonna have a ton of cameos [TS]

00:12:53   Clooney will totally come in show up in [TS]

00:12:55   the bathroom for five minutes to be [TS]

00:12:57   killed I think you'd be totally into [TS]

00:12:58   that [TS]

00:12:58   so yeah for mr. mixes pit lick Wallace [TS]

00:13:02   Shawn like a little work live action and [TS]

00:13:07   voice and for bat-mite I'm kind of going [TS]

00:13:10   to enrage the Nerds because there's no [TS]

00:13:11   reason the fifth dimension Olympic needs [TS]

00:13:13   to be a dude so I'm gonna cast judy [TS]

00:13:15   greer who i think has the brake energy [TS]

00:13:17   04 invented the fanboy like that so you [TS]

00:13:21   can finally do something other than play [TS]

00:13:23   and upset uh you know spouse yeah we're [TS]

00:13:27   sister or aunt she has played a [TS]

00:13:28   superhero before you play death girl in [TS]

00:13:31   the specials that special gun was making [TS]

00:13:33   it less popular superhero [TS]

00:13:36   yeah that's my pitch world's funnest [TS]

00:13:39   Monty Martha was my mom's name to the [TS]

00:13:43   only everybody's mom was named the same [TS]

00:13:46   things will be fine voice s what do you [TS]

00:13:48   have for us [TS]

00:13:49   I I felt that my first round pick I i [TS]

00:13:52   had to fulfill the promise I made a [TS]

00:13:54   promise like a blood oath to a friend [TS]

00:13:56   the Batman vs Superman dawn of overlong [TS]

00:14:02   titles has been mentioned already in sly [TS]

00:14:06   reference and and I feel it only [TS]

00:14:09   appropriate that my first-round pick be [TS]

00:14:11   Apollo in midnighter from the DC [TS]

00:14:14   Universe characters created by warren [TS]

00:14:16   ellis as analogues to Superman and [TS]

00:14:19   Batman with one big crazy queer twist [TS]

00:14:24   and that is that they're gay and their [TS]

00:14:27   husbands and they fight crime that the [TS]

00:14:30   crime fighting is not the twist [TS]

00:14:32   yes Apollo nighter dawn of gayness the [TS]

00:14:35   DC universe needs to get more gay really [TS]

00:14:37   fast because frankly it's really sad [TS]

00:14:40   right now [TS]

00:14:41   cinematically and and at the very least [TS]

00:14:44   they could they could take a progressive [TS]

00:14:46   leap forward and and and do something [TS]

00:14:50   interesting I am actually serious in [TS]

00:14:52   that I think that these characters are a [TS]

00:14:54   much more interesting deconstructions of [TS]

00:14:57   the superhero tropes that we know and [TS]

00:15:00   have seen a million times by now in in a [TS]

00:15:03   way that gives into the thousand ships [TS]

00:15:06   that have sailed from all kinds of [TS]

00:15:08   knowing glances between cap and Bucky [TS]

00:15:10   Superman and [TS]

00:15:12   batman while smashing sinks and toilets [TS]

00:15:13   on each other they're there they're so [TS]

00:15:16   much the inferred by fans that could [TS]

00:15:20   absolutely be real and smashing sinks [TS]

00:15:23   and toilets sounds so innuendo later I [TS]

00:15:25   think makes me think of the Spirit movie [TS]

00:15:27   how I'm sorry [TS]

00:15:28   try not to but you know they they could [TS]

00:15:30   even cross yet another bridge because [TS]

00:15:33   they're sort of Superman and Batman but [TS]

00:15:36   they're not exactly superman and batman [TS]

00:15:37   and this could finally be DC one-upping [TS]

00:15:42   what Deadpool did and doing really [TS]

00:15:45   explicit gay sex scenes [TS]

00:15:48   oh interesting pitch let's get back to [TS]

00:15:52   the Smashing of the bathtub does that [TS]

00:15:53   work exactly [TS]

00:15:54   I do like this pitch because I do like [TS]

00:15:55   those characters and i think it's a it's [TS]

00:15:57   a really interesting I i really enjoyed [TS]

00:15:59   the recent midnighter series i was going [TS]

00:16:03   to miniseries well i can select 12 [TS]

00:16:05   issues so it kinda was where they had [TS]

00:16:08   broken up and he was really unhappy [TS]

00:16:10   about it and kind of on the rebound and [TS]

00:16:13   that was fun to the storm it was fun to [TS]

00:16:15   see them in storm watch back in the day [TS]

00:16:17   Lisa had me read those rights reimagine [TS]

00:16:20   the authority right yeah I would I would [TS]

00:16:22   I would introduce them and then you can [TS]

00:16:24   do the team movie down the line and hate [TS]

00:16:27   have something if you don't get out [TS]

00:16:28   yourself just until my turn in the draft [TS]

00:16:31   I'm just saying I'm just saying it gives [TS]

00:16:33   the way for a thing it paves the way for [TS]

00:16:35   the sex scenes will have to i think [TS]

00:16:38   we'll have to chat run that by the [TS]

00:16:39   studio well we won't we're just gonna [TS]

00:16:42   we're just gonna just go there and print [TS]

00:16:44   money just print money and i'm talking [TS]

00:16:47   about monthly i'm honestly kind of [TS]

00:16:49   serious about that i mean what part of [TS]

00:16:51   the reason that that one else created [TS]

00:16:53   these characters wasn't just as kind of [TS]

00:16:54   a cheeky in joke it was it was a huh [TS]

00:16:58   here's a way to slip some actual decent [TS]

00:17:00   social commentary into something that [TS]

00:17:02   can come off as oh these are passed each [TS]

00:17:04   character's high o.o they actually have [TS]

00:17:07   a more interesting and intricate [TS]

00:17:09   relationships Superman and Lois Lane [TS]

00:17:11   have for 30 years [TS]

00:17:12   interesting that's that's exactly it is [TS]

00:17:13   that they're they're able to have [TS]

00:17:15   details of their relationship that you [TS]

00:17:19   know one of the challenges with with [TS]

00:17:21   anything like Superman and I [TS]

00:17:23   man is its how do you have those [TS]

00:17:25   characters relate and Apollo a [TS]

00:17:28   midnighter we know how they relate and [TS]

00:17:30   and there's no subtext there's text and [TS]

00:17:33   there's something delightful about that [TS]

00:17:35   okay Lisa it's your turn so I'm gonna [TS]

00:17:38   have to share my google doc with you [TS]

00:17:39   because I swear my number one pitch was [TS]

00:17:41   for the authority and for those of you [TS]

00:17:43   who may or may not know apollon [TS]

00:17:44   midnighter were members of this ensemble [TS]

00:17:47   at the turn of the return helenium I [TS]

00:17:50   feel like the franchise's be launched [TS]

00:17:52   because instead of it being a superhero [TS]

00:17:54   movie where the superheroes enforce the [TS]

00:17:56   status quo where we love the world the [TS]

00:17:58   way it is [TS]

00:17:59   even with terrible environmental things [TS]

00:18:01   happening in sure there's a few [TS]

00:18:02   dictatorships but we don't do diplomacy [TS]

00:18:05   we just do punchi punchi instead with [TS]

00:18:08   the authority does is they basically say [TS]

00:18:09   we have a boatload of super [TS]

00:18:12   scientifically advanced technology we [TS]

00:18:14   have superpowers and we have decided [TS]

00:18:15   here's how we're going to make the world [TS]

00:18:17   a better place we are going to change [TS]

00:18:19   the world we re making it the image that [TS]

00:18:20   we wanted to bring it if you have [TS]

00:18:22   disagreements and i like that approach [TS]

00:18:25   because i think it challenges the [TS]

00:18:27   predominant paradigm and superhero [TS]

00:18:28   movies because you look at the Avengers [TS]

00:18:30   and what is that movie if not a defense [TS]

00:18:33   of the status quo even age of Ultron is [TS]

00:18:35   is basically them saying okay so we're [TS]

00:18:38   cleaning up this mess we made and [TS]

00:18:41   alright it's good to ignore that ignore [TS]

00:18:44   think that flew in the sky its fine and [TS]

00:18:46   so the MCU has a whole lot of Henry but [TS]

00:18:48   fundamentally the end of the day like [TS]

00:18:49   nobody has said we have godlike powers [TS]

00:18:52   let's remake the world [TS]

00:18:53   nobody's doing that in the dcu i would [TS]

00:18:55   like to see somebody do that i'm [TS]

00:18:58   fascinated by the massive power [TS]

00:19:00   imbalance and the authorities the [TS]

00:19:01   perfect time to do it because you do [TS]

00:19:02   have again Apollo nighter you are you [TS]

00:19:05   know Batman and Batman and Superman and [TS]

00:19:07   married and during the run of the [TS]

00:19:09   authority there actually a really [TS]

00:19:10   functional couple and it's fun to watch [TS]

00:19:12   they are led by a woman named Jenny [TS]

00:19:15   sparks who is the avatar of the 20th [TS]

00:19:17   century her powers electricity and as in [TS]

00:19:20   she can control what you can control the [TS]

00:19:21   electricity generated by the human body [TS]

00:19:23   she can travel through electricity she [TS]

00:19:25   can summon it called down from the sky [TS]

00:19:28   she appears to be about a young [TS]

00:19:30   twentysomething British woman but the [TS]

00:19:31   thing is she popped into being at in [TS]

00:19:34   1900 and she set to die when the century [TS]

00:19:38   changes there was like a Jenny steam for [TS]

00:19:40   the for the note for the [TS]

00:19:41   eighteen-hundreds there have been you [TS]

00:19:44   know Jenny waterpower things like that [TS]

00:19:46   so you're pitching a period piece i am [TS]

00:19:49   i'm pitching in nineteen nineties [TS]

00:19:50   nostalgia period piece because what it [TS]

00:19:53   does is it basically it asks a lot of [TS]

00:19:55   what if questions and creates in all [TS]

00:19:57   history so it ties into that hole hot [TS]

00:19:59   topic nineteen nineties was great and a [TS]

00:20:01   sensibility that the kids so like today [TS]

00:20:03   you got it so you've got you've got a [TS]

00:20:06   team run by by by a young woman I'm i [TS]

00:20:09   see it as being Natalie Dormer [TS]

00:20:10   yeah right yeah yeah especially because [TS]

00:20:13   she's she's she's she's in sort of she's [TS]

00:20:16   in sort of a furious love with the world [TS]

00:20:18   as it were like she loves the world but [TS]

00:20:19   she wants to be better and she's like [TS]

00:20:20   yeah I'm gonna make it better before i [TS]

00:20:22   leave and her second-in-command again in [TS]

00:20:24   Jack Hawksmoor who as a child was [TS]

00:20:27   subject to a series of grueling alien [TS]

00:20:29   abductions where they fill his body with [TS]

00:20:31   all sorts of weird machineries but the [TS]

00:20:33   result is he can literally talk to [TS]

00:20:35   cities and move between cities like you [TS]

00:20:37   put them down in New York City can [TS]

00:20:38   instantly figure out like we're [TS]

00:20:40   wrongdoing is happening be moved there [TS]

00:20:42   and fix it like the the the premises if [TS]

00:20:45   if the city is ill it calls out to him [TS]

00:20:47   and he has to go fix what's going on on [TS]

00:20:49   his weakness of course is the rural [TS]

00:20:52   countryside [TS]

00:20:53   and um he is old and battered and fried [TS]

00:20:56   on climate like sound oh so you have him [TS]

00:21:01   to use is this is getting british but [TS]

00:21:02   never with me and in turn is also a dude [TS]

00:21:05   named the doctor who is just as [TS]

00:21:07   profoundly stone Dutch junkie who [TS]

00:21:09   happens also to be tapped into the life [TS]

00:21:11   force of the earth and you can heal [TS]

00:21:12   anything or kill people with diseases [TS]

00:21:13   and there's the engineer who's this [TS]

00:21:15   beautiful latina lady Angela Angeles [TS]

00:21:17   because her name and you know i like the [TS]

00:21:22   girl from jim from jane the virgin for [TS]

00:21:23   that because she offset some of the [TS]

00:21:25   Nazca some of that some of the hardest [TS]

00:21:27   British business and then there's shen [TS]

00:21:29   who is an agent lady who also happens to [TS]

00:21:31   have wings and she flies and she's [TS]

00:21:33   called the Huntress and so you've got [TS]

00:21:34   you've got what is basically I mean one [TS]

00:21:37   else wrote wrote them and and Brian huge [TS]

00:21:39   illustrated them and they look like a [TS]

00:21:40   Benetton ad to kill you [TS]

00:21:42   happened some and that's kind of the [TS]

00:21:44   appeal and I think I don't find you know [TS]

00:21:47   the first movie just shows them over [TS]

00:21:50   throwing a bunch of terrorists regimes [TS]

00:21:51   providing humanitarian aid and then [TS]

00:21:53   having a standoff with the united [TS]

00:21:55   nations because the United Nations their [TS]

00:21:56   own pet superheroes and then when this [TS]

00:21:59   movie breaks out big because it will [TS]

00:22:01   because you know as much as pointed out [TS]

00:22:02   the gay sex and also you know strong [TS]

00:22:05   lady role models and all of that then [TS]

00:22:07   subsequent movies have them tending of [TS]

00:22:09   alien invaders and dealing with rival [TS]

00:22:12   team of corporate sponsors superheroes [TS]

00:22:14   by a cartel billionaires who want the [TS]

00:22:16   old world order back and then there's [TS]

00:22:18   the y2k where oh my gosh Jenny sparks is [TS]

00:22:21   going to type what happens next what [TS]

00:22:23   takes her place and that's like the big [TS]

00:22:25   you know two-part boom things explode [TS]

00:22:27   all over the place it'll be fantastic [TS]

00:22:28   any social media [TS]

00:22:30   no Jenny quantum theory quantum yeah way [TS]

00:22:33   back in the day that it was going to be [TS]

00:22:34   Jenny quantum and the thing is Jenny [TS]

00:22:37   quantum ages at her own pace [TS]

00:22:39   so you can easily do that you can easily [TS]

00:22:41   lift from the from the book the plot [TS]

00:22:43   line where you have like a pangalactic [TS]

00:22:45   force trying to kill babies that are [TS]

00:22:47   born at the stroke of y2k and then the [TS]

00:22:49   authority has to go stop them and then [TS]

00:22:51   they find baby jenny quantum and she's [TS]

00:22:53   like maybe that is barring and so then [TS]

00:22:56   you've got your ear your hipster teenage [TS]

00:22:58   kid for those who are interested in [TS]

00:23:00   comic books and some of the characters [TS]

00:23:01   that you've heard about here [TS]

00:23:03   none other than [TS]

00:23:04   warren ellis has been given the reins of [TS]

00:23:05   the entire wildstorm universe which [TS]

00:23:07   includes the authority stormwatch [TS]

00:23:09   characters and it's being relaunched in [TS]

00:23:11   an ongoing series and sometimes series [TS]

00:23:14   of the main series being called the wild [TS]

00:23:16   storm which would be should be out [TS]

00:23:17   relatively soon i figured over the [TS]

00:23:20   course of like these 45 authority the [TS]

00:23:21   visual bringing this from watch because [TS]

00:23:23   you'll have the weatherman come back you [TS]

00:23:24   might even have Henry bendix come back [TS]

00:23:26   and then the second weatherman you'll [TS]

00:23:28   have some of the people that you songs [TS]

00:23:29   from watch like the do to get thrown [TS]

00:23:31   into the sun and then you can bring some [TS]

00:23:34   gin 13 a bunch of the world some things [TS]

00:23:36   but the point is the whole ethos of this [TS]

00:23:38   series is we have superpowers of course [TS]

00:23:41   we're going to change the world as we [TS]

00:23:42   see fit and then the question is what [TS]

00:23:44   will happen is the world react to that [TS]

00:23:45   we have a giant spaceship that that [TS]

00:23:47   slips between the oh I want of realities [TS]

00:23:50   what we have lead yeah yeah they've got [TS]

00:23:53   they've got that crazy spaceship they've [TS]

00:23:54   got the Nevada guard with all the [TS]

00:23:55   weapons in the food it's just it's [TS]

00:23:58   bananas and like is it like i said kind [TS]

00:24:00   of inverts the whole superhero movie [TS]

00:24:01   trope because the biggest problem all [TS]

00:24:03   the action movies is all we must defend [TS]

00:24:05   the status quo it's ok if they hatin [TS]

00:24:07   Ferris as long as they don't hate and [TS]

00:24:08   fear is that much which makes no sense [TS]

00:24:11   and you know the DC was your kind of the [TS]

00:24:15   same thing where everyone is is still [TS]

00:24:17   well since these people are really [TS]

00:24:19   uncomfortable as perhaps we should not [TS]

00:24:21   make them so uncomfortable with us and [TS]

00:24:22   also might as well just lean in man you [TS]

00:24:25   owe leading use this to your advantage [TS]

00:24:28   so you powerful beings alright so myself [TS]

00:24:31   and Lisa both channeling lots of royalty [TS]

00:24:33   money to warren ellis yes [TS]

00:24:35   fair enough yes yes you are Nellis [TS]

00:24:38   alright i will close out this first [TS]

00:24:40   round with a pitch for i would like a [TS]

00:24:44   comic book movie that it i'm gonna do a [TS]

00:24:46   superhero movie here too i know that [TS]

00:24:48   there are other pitches out there i [TS]

00:24:51   think my next one will not be but this [TS]

00:24:52   1i instead i'm going to change the John [TS]

00:24:54   rabe I want a romantic comedy about [TS]

00:24:58   somebody with a suit with superhero [TS]

00:25:00   powers and i'm going to pitch the basing [TS]

00:25:03   it on Tom zollars webcomic loving capes [TS]

00:25:06   which is about a regular woman named [TS]

00:25:09   abby who is whose boyfriend of a few [TS]

00:25:12   months mark reveals that he is actually [TS]

00:25:14   not a not just an account [TS]

00:25:17   he is an accountant fully licensed but [TS]

00:25:20   he is also the Crusader one of the most [TS]

00:25:23   powerful superheroes in the world and [TS]

00:25:26   yes he does have a cape and it is kind [TS]

00:25:29   of an adorable comic about the [TS]

00:25:33   relationship and the superhero trappings [TS]

00:25:35   are on the periphery and I think it [TS]

00:25:37   would make a really fun comic because I [TS]

00:25:40   a there was a time when I would think [TS]

00:25:42   that making jokes about kind of [TS]

00:25:44   superhero tropes would be lost on the [TS]

00:25:46   general public but boy we have left that [TS]

00:25:48   time now we everybody gets everything [TS]

00:25:51   involving superheroes now so i think the [TS]

00:25:54   time has come for a romantic comedy [TS]

00:25:57   about a superhero and rather than doing [TS]

00:26:00   it about like Lois and Clark or [TS]

00:26:02   something like that let's just go to 11 [TS]

00:26:05   capes and do it there so that's my [TS]

00:26:08   that's my pitch it's a it's a it's a [TS]

00:26:10   romantic comedy about how you find love [TS]

00:26:13   in the world when there are super [TS]

00:26:15   villains trying to kill you John what do [TS]

00:26:18   you have for a second pic for this one [TS]

00:26:20   I'm going to go a little smaller serious [TS]

00:26:22   and talk about something I've actually [TS]

00:26:24   like to see and and that's a comic based [TS]

00:26:27   on Jaime Hernandez is a long-running [TS]

00:26:30   lokas characters from love and rockets [TS]

00:26:33   which goes back to nineteen eighty i [TS]

00:26:36   believe i was reading these back in the [TS]

00:26:39   eighties and have followed them through [TS]

00:26:40   the nineties and on into the two [TS]

00:26:42   thousands anyone who's read these comics [TS]

00:26:46   know they start in a fictional barrio of [TS]

00:26:50   Los Angeles called hoppers and follow to [TS]

00:26:54   punk kids [TS]

00:26:58   Maggie and Hopi as they traverse this [TS]

00:27:03   fantasy world of science fiction and [TS]

00:27:05   crazy Central American countries with [TS]

00:27:08   lost dinosaurs and strange millionaires [TS]

00:27:14   with horns and then it serve settles [TS]

00:27:17   down over time into becoming a very [TS]

00:27:20   closely observed character study about [TS]

00:27:23   these two young women as they grow out [TS]

00:27:27   of there punk years [TS]

00:27:28   and have to kind of figure out what [TS]

00:27:29   they're going to do next with their [TS]

00:27:30   lives and as time goes on those fantasy [TS]

00:27:33   and science fiction trapeze kind of fall [TS]

00:27:37   to the wayside although they do come [TS]

00:27:39   back from time to time in strangely [TS]

00:27:42   surreal ways and this is a just a anyone [TS]

00:27:47   who's read love and rockets which if you [TS]

00:27:49   don't know that was where the name came [TS]

00:27:51   from not the band the band stole the [TS]

00:27:54   name from the common in this is one of [TS]

00:27:58   the quintessential comics of the black [TS]

00:28:02   and white revolution of the eighties and [TS]

00:28:05   get Jaime Hernandez has gone on to [TS]

00:28:08   become a huge illustrator for The New [TS]

00:28:12   Yorker recently recently and [TS]

00:28:14   unfortunately he doesn't put out as many [TS]

00:28:16   comics's he used to but he's still [TS]

00:28:18   following the adventures of magazine [TS]

00:28:20   Hopi and I was thinking that for Maggie [TS]

00:28:24   I could see her being played by dascha [TS]

00:28:29   Polanco who slays on the orange is the [TS]

00:28:33   new black and checked and I thought Hopi [TS]

00:28:37   who is in the comic is Scottish and [TS]

00:28:40   columbia could be played by Aubrey Plaza [TS]

00:28:43   who is Irish in Puerto Rican Izzy the [TS]

00:28:47   the creepy friend of theirs who it has [TS]

00:28:52   all the religious fantasies is eii I [TS]

00:28:57   don't know who I would go for but i'm [TS]

00:28:59   thinking maybe Gabrielle Gabrielle areas [TS]

00:29:02   who plays valencia on crazy [TS]

00:29:05   ex-girlfriend because she's thin enough [TS]

00:29:07   and and and megan hope you have this [TS]

00:29:12   statuesque superhero ask a girlfriend [TS]

00:29:17   named penny century who I think should [TS]

00:29:20   be played by Lake Bell because she's [TS]

00:29:23   tall and imposing enough and she can [TS]

00:29:25   play crazy to and and here's the here's [TS]

00:29:28   the kicker is I think the first half of [TS]

00:29:30   the film which is science fiction mixed [TS]

00:29:33   with punk rock would be directed by alex [TS]

00:29:37   cox [TS]

00:29:38   the second half as it goes on would be [TS]

00:29:41   turned over to Aurora Guerrero who is a [TS]

00:29:46   a contemporary chicana LGBT director who [TS]

00:29:51   does these slices of light films about [TS]

00:29:53   about mexican girls in Los Angeles so it [TS]

00:29:58   would it would it would it would slowly [TS]

00:30:00   fade out and maybe somewhere in the [TS]

00:30:03   middle we could get Robert Rodriguez to [TS]

00:30:04   do like a fantasy scene that's great [TS]

00:30:07   that's awesome [TS]

00:30:08   I'd watched I want to see that [TS]

00:30:10   tremendously under underappreciated [TS]

00:30:12   comics and i should mention that those [TS]

00:30:15   brothers Hernandez are among 17 nominees [TS]

00:30:19   who is your voters will vote on to [TS]

00:30:21   potentially inducted into the hall of [TS]

00:30:22   fame this year I John for 4 first first [TS]

00:30:25   appearance you're killing it [TS]

00:30:27   good job you're literally redefining it [TS]

00:30:29   killing it made on this serious making [TS]

00:30:31   always look bad yeah you doing a great [TS]

00:30:33   job [TS]

00:30:33   that's awesome well I'll shut up now [TS]

00:30:36   David it's your turn the top top it [TS]

00:30:38   yeah right no pressure be that loser as [TS]

00:30:43   John knows i was really tempted to [TS]

00:30:44   choose Fred Basset but I just not so on [TS]

00:30:48   the board you know i love heist films i [TS]

00:30:50   love a good heist [TS]

00:30:52   I love the oceans 11 films i'm curious [TS]

00:30:55   about the new oceans eight film the all [TS]

00:30:57   female version of Ocean's eleven i guess [TS]

00:31:00   they only need thirty percent last I [TS]

00:31:02   don't know and I'd really love to adapt [TS]

00:31:08   one of my favorite graphic novel series [TS]

00:31:10   and yet she's a French street urchin and [TS]

00:31:15   a master thief [TS]

00:31:17   she's kind of part Tintin and park Nancy [TS]

00:31:20   Drew [TS]

00:31:20   she's a thorn in the side of the grumpy [TS]

00:31:23   police detective who you know at [TS]

00:31:26   asnières a little older than I would [TS]

00:31:28   think but surely there's a young as near [TS]

00:31:30   tight who could do this Nick Offerman [TS]

00:31:33   would be fun and and for some reason I [TS]

00:31:37   just see Alicia the candor in this just [TS]

00:31:40   you know in a mask and dancing across [TS]

00:31:43   the rooftops of Paris and maybe David [TS]

00:31:45   Tennant as [TS]

00:31:47   her nemesis and sometimes very well her [TS]

00:31:50   rival her sometimes partner-in-crime [TS]

00:31:53   missya i just did there three [TS]

00:31:58   collections out there it is utterly [TS]

00:32:00   delightful I we know it's it's they're [TS]

00:32:05   just good high stories with a real sense [TS]

00:32:07   of humor in a real sense of adventure [TS]

00:32:09   someone make these movies or let me do [TS]

00:32:12   them i would love to tooth lot of fun I [TS]

00:32:15   like that one [TS]

00:32:15   Monty what do you have early one morning [TS]

00:32:19   we open on an ordinary house the Sun [TS]

00:32:23   rises with a mighty splurge and we zoom [TS]

00:32:25   inside your hero waking up [TS]

00:32:27   he sits up in bed and scratches his [TS]

00:32:29   belly he puts his huge floppy feet in [TS]

00:32:32   some huge floppy shoes and stretch it [TS]

00:32:34   out his spine to the sound of a [TS]

00:32:36   mind-boggling array of cracks and spooks [TS]

00:32:38   and springs he goes forth into a strange [TS]

00:32:41   world of notary publics large Canaries [TS]

00:32:43   and gorilla suits the opening title hits [TS]

00:32:46   the screen with a magnificent khatoon [TS]

00:32:47   Don Martin the movie every fully artist [TS]

00:32:56   in the west coast [TS]

00:32:58   gotta love don martin mad magazine i'm [TS]

00:33:04   so excited about this [TS]

00:33:05   you had me at sports haha idea where [TS]

00:33:09   this is going I couldn't wait so great i [TS]

00:33:13   think the fish budget for this movie we [TS]

00:33:15   have to hire Greenpeace starts person [TS]

00:33:19   that you have more montia they're more [TS]

00:33:21   details of what what I veterinarian a [TS]

00:33:23   rather than selling the rest of the [TS]

00:33:25   memory after I mean I figure we die it [TS]

00:33:30   would be about mr. Bester tester it [TS]

00:33:32   would be about the noted notary Republic [TS]

00:33:33   he wrote about a couple of times mostly [TS]

00:33:37   would just be people going up to vending [TS]

00:33:38   machines and then something crazy [TS]

00:33:40   happens to them i think it would have to [TS]

00:33:42   have a lot of title cards intersperse [TS]

00:33:45   would say one Sunday afternoon to the [TS]

00:33:48   park or a visit to do the dentists [TS]

00:33:52   yes well you notice I did start my pitch [TS]

00:33:54   with early one morning which is you [TS]

00:33:56   don't use several times that would be an [TS]

00:33:59   interesting movie i'm trying to that [TS]

00:34:00   you're going to find a good screenwriter [TS]

00:34:02   for that 1i think just to have it be [TS]

00:34:05   make any sort of sense but will you hear [TS]

00:34:08   my next one even bigger stretch to make [TS]

00:34:10   into a story interesting ok boys is what [TS]

00:34:13   do you have for us in trying to narrow [TS]

00:34:15   down ideas you know back in the day many [TS]

00:34:17   of us made these lists of oh man I would [TS]

00:34:19   look for this to be a movie the default [TS]

00:34:21   used to always be something needed to be [TS]

00:34:22   a movie but a lot of these sequential [TS]

00:34:24   art series really lend themselves much [TS]

00:34:26   better to television at this point at [TS]

00:34:28   Strom yes y the last man yeah you know [TS]

00:34:31   people animal people say oh I want a [TS]

00:34:33   saga movie [TS]

00:34:34   no no you want to saw got no make a TV [TS]

00:34:36   series yeah it's dead it it doesn't fit [TS]

00:34:39   into that bucket now there is something [TS]

00:34:41   that the author has stated that he has [TS]

00:34:43   no intent to ever adapter that medium [TS]

00:34:46   and I mentioned y the last man because [TS]

00:34:48   that author is bryan cave on who with [TS]

00:34:51   Marcus Martin data series on their [TS]

00:34:53   website panels to get called the private [TS]

00:34:55   i set in the year 2076 after an event [TS]

00:34:59   referred to as the cloudburst where [TS]

00:35:02   everyone's private information gets [TS]

00:35:04   leaked online [TS]

00:35:05   everybody's John Podesta uh pasta [TS]

00:35:10   recipes get leaked online and they're [TS]

00:35:13   sexting and all of their private [TS]

00:35:15   communication everything that people put [TS]

00:35:17   into the digital either has been wiki [TS]

00:35:20   leaks all over the bed of the world and [TS]

00:35:24   and everyone can see it plain as day I [TS]

00:35:26   to the point that there is no internet [TS]

00:35:29   anymore people are incredibly guarded [TS]

00:35:31   about private information their identity [TS]

00:35:33   itself people walk around in public [TS]

00:35:35   routinely just wearing masks of [TS]

00:35:37   different sorts and other utilizing as [TS]

00:35:40   many ways as possible to obscure their [TS]

00:35:42   identities they as they can and among [TS]

00:35:45   the the most dangerous outlaws on this [TS]

00:35:48   planet Earth of the year 2076 are [TS]

00:35:51   unlicensed journalists yes indeed to be [TS]

00:35:55   a journalist you have to have a license [TS]

00:35:56   and one of these unlicensed journalists [TS]

00:35:58   gets tied up in a future pulp series of [TS]

00:36:04   unfortunate events having nothing to do [TS]

00:36:06   with the new Netflix series or book [TS]

00:36:08   series that lead him on the trail of a [TS]

00:36:11   crime or series of crimes or who knows [TS]

00:36:13   nesting dolls of crimes and crimes and [TS]

00:36:16   crimes [TS]

00:36:17   it's it's phenomenally interesting and [TS]

00:36:19   and and aggressively cinematic to me [TS]

00:36:21   it's it's something that was available [TS]

00:36:24   originally as I guess you would say [TS]

00:36:27   widescreen format pdfs exclusively on [TS]

00:36:30   their website panels to qik.com for [TS]

00:36:32   whatever price you think is fair [TS]

00:36:34   including free and they put that in a [TS]

00:36:36   parenthetical on that very price listing [TS]

00:36:38   so you can you can read the whole thing [TS]

00:36:40   for absolutely nothing and then pay them [TS]

00:36:42   after the fact or there is a beautiful [TS]

00:36:44   hardcover edition of it's out now but it [TS]

00:36:47   is it is one of the most directly [TS]

00:36:50   lending to cinematic adaptation comics [TS]

00:36:52   ever in the last 10 years and it's [TS]

00:36:54   phenomenal [TS]

00:36:55   it's great and you can you can just [TS]

00:36:56   download that from panel center.com [TS]

00:36:58   pay-what-you-want I believe get those it [TS]

00:37:00   what you want [TS]

00:37:01   alright Lisa what do you have katheryn [TS]

00:37:04   winnick place Power Girl captain winning [TS]

00:37:07   i don't know how many of you are [TS]

00:37:08   familiar with her work is like pizza on [TS]

00:37:10   Vikings which is the history channel [TS]

00:37:12   Vikings is a magnificent hot mess of a [TS]

00:37:15   TV show and [TS]

00:37:16   I love it so just for the wing budget [TS]

00:37:18   alone but katheryn winnick plays I'm [TS]

00:37:20   lagertha who was indeed part of the [TS]

00:37:23   North sagas as leader of the shield [TS]

00:37:25   maidens and then later a North Earl in [TS]

00:37:27   her own right quite a skilled invader [TS]

00:37:29   and quite a skilled holder of land and [TS]

00:37:32   builder of kingdoms she is a phenomenal [TS]

00:37:35   physical actress she well the best way [TS]

00:37:39   of putting is she has the kind of [TS]

00:37:41   convincing physicality where if she was [TS]

00:37:43   to put on the Power Girl suit you would [TS]

00:37:44   actually believe this is a woman who [TS]

00:37:45   could grind you into a fine powder and I [TS]

00:37:48   would build a move around her and I've [TS]

00:37:51   always liked Power Girl the DC Universe [TS]

00:37:53   and I always felt like her [TS]

00:37:55   the sheer dazzling variety of backstory [TS]

00:37:57   they have tried to give this poor [TS]

00:37:58   character is just beyond is just beyond [TS]

00:38:01   I'm describing in in this a podcast you [TS]

00:38:03   can actually probably launched an entire [TS]

00:38:05   separate podcast called power girl what [TS]

00:38:07   and then spend hours discussing what [TS]

00:38:10   they've done to this poor woman over the [TS]

00:38:11   course of her existence but long story [TS]

00:38:14   short that the most i can boil it down [TS]

00:38:16   to what we boiled down to this movie is [TS]

00:38:17   she is a Kryptonian from a parallel [TS]

00:38:20   universe and through some you know [TS]

00:38:22   hand-wavy tiny whiny stuff she gets [TS]

00:38:25   flung into this universe there's no way [TS]

00:38:27   to crashing through a boob window [TS]

00:38:29   well this is the things that the boob [TS]

00:38:32   window will get address i promise you [TS]

00:38:33   that are you mad I'm shocked [TS]

00:38:37   yeah anyway the point is is that you get [TS]

00:38:38   a citizen of Krypton from parallel [TS]

00:38:40   universes stuck into this one she is [TS]

00:38:43   everything is just different enough with [TS]

00:38:45   the Kryptonians in this universe where [TS]

00:38:47   she's she's a little thrown off by that [TS]

00:38:48   she is even more thrown off by the fact [TS]

00:38:50   she can't go home and she's expected to [TS]

00:38:52   stay here and the whole movie is [TS]

00:38:53   basically going to be how does this [TS]

00:38:55   exile and craft a new home and a new [TS]

00:38:59   identity in a place for everything is [TS]

00:39:01   just so slightly off normal and where [TS]

00:39:04   she happens to have super where she [TS]

00:39:05   happens to have superpowers and it's not [TS]

00:39:07   regarded the same way it was back in the [TS]

00:39:08   place where she comes from [TS]

00:39:09   so it's it's a fish-out-of-water story [TS]

00:39:11   and by the individual prom like at the [TS]

00:39:14   beginning she has a uniform and [TS]

00:39:16   bizarrely enough like whatever logo has [TS]

00:39:18   significance to her own planet [TS]

00:39:20   mysteriously disappears in this one and [TS]

00:39:23   she spends the the movie figuring out [TS]

00:39:25   you know what symbol is she going to put [TS]

00:39:27   out there to represent herself [TS]

00:39:30   in this strange new land it's it's um [TS]

00:39:32   yeah i like the idea of woman next aisle [TS]

00:39:34   is a strong tough emotionally guarded [TS]

00:39:38   woman who who knows that she can never [TS]

00:39:40   go back home what is she gonna do how [TS]

00:39:42   she gonna handle it and handle being a [TS]

00:39:43   superhero on top of that like the first [TS]

00:39:45   time she's an injustice league meeting [TS]

00:39:46   and she's like I know none of these [TS]

00:39:48   people why matter rotation with you what [TS]

00:39:50   am I supposed to do like I think it [TS]

00:39:52   would be an interesting would also to to [TS]

00:39:54   see how superheroes get integrated into [TS]

00:39:58   a wider community or what kind of [TS]

00:40:00   relationship they're asked to have with [TS]

00:40:01   the place they're asked to protect us [TS]

00:40:03   losing my question is is the boob window [TS]

00:40:06   caused by her symbol falling off and she [TS]

00:40:09   seeks a new one or is the boob window [TS]

00:40:11   her symbol that she decides on having [TS]

00:40:14   the Grinch's ourselves that caused by [TS]

00:40:16   carmine infantino going let's show some [TS]

00:40:19   cleavage I think what happens is the [TS]

00:40:21   envy kind of burns away and she realizes [TS]

00:40:24   that there's no point in you like her [TS]

00:40:26   first active of well what the heck let [TS]

00:40:28   money or not your point your physicists [TS]

00:40:30   can get me back where I need to go and [TS]

00:40:32   she's like well and I I don't believe in [TS]

00:40:34   wearing a symbol that doesn't mean [TS]

00:40:35   anything to me so until something means [TS]

00:40:37   something to me I'm just gonna wear this [TS]

00:40:39   suit and it makes people uncomfortable [TS]

00:40:40   and they're a little weirded out by it [TS]

00:40:43   and she's like no you know what you're [TS]

00:40:44   just gonna have to deal because if [TS]

00:40:46   you're uncomfortable imagine how I feel [TS]

00:40:48   punch no no is it a boob window or a [TS]

00:40:51   boob transom or a bay window or a boob [TS]

00:40:55   transom religious ok and and for like [TS]

00:40:58   practical intents and purposes it's [TS]

00:40:59   going to be a very small translate the [TS]

00:41:01   smallest legally allowed possible [TS]

00:41:02   transit prevent elation yes because you [TS]

00:41:04   know she is moving around and things [TS]

00:41:06   it's not going to be like the kind of [TS]

00:41:08   boob window you see when someone like [TS]

00:41:09   Frank show was doing a cover right you [TS]

00:41:11   go carefully pose it was still here why [TS]

00:41:14   that you got movement although i think [TS]

00:41:15   there will be a scene where she pointed [TS]

00:41:17   her own chest and says you see these on [TS]

00:41:18   my planet these mean hope it's zack [TS]

00:41:25   snyder will be directing this of course [TS]

00:41:27   very director zack snyder your moment I [TS]

00:41:29   didn't mention zack snyder's also [TS]

00:41:31   directing my Don Martin are you going [TS]

00:41:33   yes my friend but I get Zack Snyder and [TS]

00:41:36   everything so far is going to have a sex [TS]

00:41:38   scene that that's going to be backed by [TS]

00:41:41   hallelujah don't know I figured [TS]

00:41:43   obviously to be honest I i figured that [TS]

00:41:45   the rest of brothers would be great pick [TS]

00:41:47   for power ensures i love I other fight [TS]

00:41:49   choreography [TS]

00:41:50   yeah and I like the zip in the pace and [TS]

00:41:52   the temple that they generally have in [TS]

00:41:54   their movies I kind of see her like [TS]

00:41:56   pointing at her her transom and then [TS]

00:41:58   saying look up here and the guy was that [TS]

00:42:01   she just punches him [TS]

00:42:02   yes it's like somebody just tuned in to [TS]

00:42:04   David saying she points to transcendence [TS]

00:42:07   and i know not everyone will be laughing [TS]

00:42:09   when they have like the girls night out [TS]

00:42:11   with her in a bunch of other superheroes [TS]

00:42:12   we end up having a brawl and like Batman [TS]

00:42:14   and Superman have to come and bail them [TS]

00:42:16   out the next day and I think again [TS]

00:42:17   yes alternate reality Supergirl [TS]

00:42:19   basically that's a gasket [TS]

00:42:21   well woman not girl that was the [TS]

00:42:23   difference really just she was tougher [TS]

00:42:25   and meaner and stronger and that we had [TS]

00:42:27   a fish out of water because she's not [TS]

00:42:28   her own reality so the world is [TS]

00:42:30   different the fish-out-of-water story [TS]

00:42:31   but intrigues me the most about her is [TS]

00:42:33   the engine is witness to manufacturer [TS]

00:42:35   meeting right so I my pitch my last four [TS]

00:42:39   pitches going to be 4i think i'm gonna [TS]

00:42:42   say an animated film based on Brian [TS]

00:42:47   Clevenger's atomic robo yeah who is a is [TS]

00:42:51   a fantastic it is a robot similarly [TS]

00:42:53   round picks [TS]

00:42:54   yeah robot built by Nikola Tesla he's a [TS]

00:42:58   piece [TS]

00:42:59   he's sentient but a robot and he has all [TS]

00:43:02   sorts of fun period sort of like when is [TS]

00:43:07   it is it like post-world war two during [TS]

00:43:10   World War Two and post world war two and [TS]

00:43:12   he threw a lot of here through a lot of [TS]

00:43:14   Arafat's that's true he gets it's [TS]

00:43:16   unclear but it is so easy [TS]

00:43:17   he's immortal essentially right so what [TS]

00:43:19   I like about atomic robo and I was [TS]

00:43:21   thinking that maybe the best way to do [TS]

00:43:22   it is is animated is that he's got all [TS]

00:43:25   sorts of adventures that he has so so [TS]

00:43:27   it's a way that you don't need this to [TS]

00:43:28   be a TV series like so many of the [TS]

00:43:30   comics really should probably be adapted [TS]

00:43:32   and you can just tell a fun adventure I [TS]

00:43:35   would have him battling dr. dinosaur at [TS]

00:43:37   some point because dr. dinosaur is great [TS]

00:43:40   he's a talking dinosaur it travels in [TS]

00:43:43   time [TS]

00:43:44   the girl to the process is trying to [TS]

00:43:46   kill all mammals it's great and I don't [TS]

00:43:51   know what the exact plot is yet I didn't [TS]

00:43:53   get that far but in terms of I'm just [TS]

00:43:55   looking for properties right now and i [TS]

00:43:56   think that the property I'm gonna I'm [TS]

00:43:58   gonna say as atomic robo he's got he's [TS]

00:44:00   got a team of action scientists who work [TS]

00:44:01   with him [TS]

00:44:02   they'll be a nice Ensemble will get will [TS]

00:44:05   cast some well-known actors who will [TS]

00:44:08   only have to come in for a few days to [TS]

00:44:09   do their line readings because it's an [TS]

00:44:10   animated animated feature but i think [TS]

00:44:13   given how I how well i think big hero 6 [TS]

00:44:18   turned out a yes an animated adaptation [TS]

00:44:21   of a fun adventure comic would be a [TS]

00:44:26   would be a blast and I think that atomic [TS]

00:44:28   robo would be the property to do it [TS]

00:44:29   because it is it is funny and has that [TS]

00:44:33   has that kind of period charm about it [TS]

00:44:36   that that makes me kind of the comic and [TS]

00:44:39   i would love the love the the movie too [TS]

00:44:42   so what I'm almost so on board for that [TS]

00:44:44   yea it's going on right here to watch it [TS]

00:44:46   i actually had another one I was gonna [TS]

00:44:48   pick and then I realized that I couldn't [TS]

00:44:50   pick it because I believe that it was [TS]

00:44:52   going to be a movie and killed and is [TS]

00:44:53   now going to be a TV series and so I [TS]

00:44:55   just i'll leave it for my last round but [TS]

00:44:58   atomic robo was right up there so yeah [TS]

00:45:00   atomic robo I i recommend it and I hope [TS]

00:45:04   that one day perhaps we will see an [TS]

00:45:05   animated tompa alright that's two [TS]

00:45:08   pitches down for everybody i think for [TS]

00:45:10   with our remaining time what we'll do is [TS]

00:45:11   go back to everybody and ask if they've [TS]

00:45:13   got other things that they found out [TS]

00:45:15   pitching and if you want to do a quick [TS]

00:45:17   pitch of some of your other ideas that's [TS]

00:45:18   fine but we'll just kind of move through [TS]

00:45:20   quickly and get and clear the decks of [TS]

00:45:22   any other ideas you might have John do [TS]

00:45:23   you have any that you that you didn't [TS]

00:45:25   mention oh sure since i did one of the [TS]

00:45:28   great comics of the eighties all also do [TS]

00:45:31   one of the great comics the nineties [TS]

00:45:32   Peter bags hate i think given the fact [TS]

00:45:37   that Generation Xers are now all in [TS]

00:45:41   their forties and fifties there's a [TS]

00:45:43   plenty of nostalogie out there for for [TS]

00:45:45   this time and I thought that we could [TS]

00:45:47   have buddy Bradley the slacker who comes [TS]

00:45:51   from New Jersey moves to seattle during [TS]

00:45:54   the middle of the grunge era could be [TS]

00:45:56   played by Adam driver [TS]

00:45:58   because uh you know he's it's basically [TS]

00:46:00   the character he's playing on girls and [TS]

00:46:02   as long as we got Adam driver we might [TS]

00:46:04   as well have lisa donovan plays [TS]

00:46:06   girlfriend Lisa leavenworth I the only [TS]

00:46:09   thing I don't know who to play would be [TS]

00:46:11   stinky but i guess i'll say Jack Gleeson [TS]

00:46:13   from king of Thrones alright and this [TS]

00:46:16   could be directed by either edgar wright [TS]

00:46:18   or the sofia coppola essay to write [TS]

00:46:24   fantastic that direction casting to [TS]

00:46:28   that's really yeah all right anything [TS]

00:46:30   else that you had that that was left on [TS]

00:46:32   the cutting room floor oh I would just [TS]

00:46:34   say I I purposefully didn't pitch any [TS]

00:46:38   superhero comics because i'm not a huge [TS]

00:46:41   fan of superheroes the trouble i always [TS]

00:46:44   have a superhero's is there always about [TS]

00:46:47   people whose only imagination what they [TS]

00:46:50   can do with their superpowers is to [TS]

00:46:52   punish after the fact and in a way as i [TS]

00:46:56   was thinking about that I realized [TS]

00:46:57   someone could make a really great [TS]

00:46:59   twisted film out of the comics of [TS]

00:47:01   fletcher Hanks of Stardust to the the [TS]

00:47:04   the space wizard especially I will [TS]

00:47:06   destroy a list of like planets guy you [TS]

00:47:09   exactly [TS]

00:47:10   David what else did you have okay I have [TS]

00:47:12   so many but i'll go quick [TS]

00:47:14   they just have names for the most part [TS]

00:47:16   great i would love to adapt Francisco [TS]

00:47:19   Franco vilas black beetle which is a a [TS]

00:47:22   modern day but noone war pulp hero I [TS]

00:47:27   mean he fits right into the forties i [TS]

00:47:30   would love to do a good movie of the [TS]

00:47:34   Spirit maybe with Artie hammer as the [TS]

00:47:37   spirit but you know one when it was [TS]

00:47:39   actually realize mirrors spirit i would [TS]

00:47:43   love to fix the League of Extraordinary [TS]

00:47:45   Gentlemen which is such a wonderful [TS]

00:47:48   comic in a hour alone he doesn't want to [TS]

00:47:51   hear from you [TS]

00:47:52   yes that's true forget him I would love [TS]

00:47:55   to see Jason Sudeikis as Plastic Man huh [TS]

00:47:59   I think that would be relational we can [TS]

00:48:02   do that we have the technology that we [TS]

00:48:04   couldn't do that [TS]

00:48:05   I have a basic not on my list to [TS]

00:48:07   specifically kyle baker version of [TS]

00:48:09   Plastic Man [TS]

00:48:09   yeah I think post Deadpool plastic man [TS]

00:48:12   could totally be made it would be great [TS]

00:48:14   oh absolutely yeah I would love to take [TS]

00:48:19   I mean again this started as books and [TS]

00:48:22   then was adapted and it's been adapted [TS]

00:48:24   into movies and various points and [TS]

00:48:26   Darwin cook took the Richard stark books [TS]

00:48:31   about Parker and he made the best [TS]

00:48:33   adaptation of the Parker books [TS]

00:48:35   none of the movies about Parker and most [TS]

00:48:38   of them don't even call him Parker which [TS]

00:48:40   kind of a problem and you know basically [TS]

00:48:43   at point-blank comes close [TS]

00:48:46   payback payback exists for James Coburn [TS]

00:48:49   to go [TS]

00:48:49   that's mean that's just mean that's [TS]

00:48:52   about it so I'd love to take the Darwin [TS]

00:48:55   cook Parker books and just use those as [TS]

00:48:58   storyboards because he nailed it i would [TS]

00:49:02   love to take the the shadow and Doc [TS]

00:49:05   Savage and all the street and Smith [TS]

00:49:07   characters and there is a cinematic [TS]

00:49:09   universe waiting to happen in movies [TS]

00:49:11   that did not work [TS]

00:49:13   yeah that again i would love to fix that [TS]

00:49:15   poor shadow [TS]

00:49:17   oh my god there's a Dark Horse comic [TS]

00:49:21   called the department H or depth which [TS]

00:49:25   is a murder mystery under the water with [TS]

00:49:27   you know interesting things going on [TS]

00:49:29   there that would make a really good [TS]

00:49:31   movie i think if I were working in [TS]

00:49:33   television i would i would talk about [TS]

00:49:36   Astro City turn into a TV right doing TV [TS]

00:49:39   and that's not a movie for sure ya can [TS]

00:49:42   write it would not you know there's so [TS]

00:49:44   much there [TS]

00:49:45   oh and i want to see oscar isaac is [TS]

00:49:47   Parker I must forgot that part [TS]

00:49:49   and finally i would love to see the [TS]

00:49:52   thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and [TS]

00:49:54   Babbage by Sydney padua oh my god that [TS]

00:49:57   would make such a fun movie and [TS]

00:49:58   educational but mostly fun all right [TS]

00:50:01   Monty well everybody talks about how [TS]

00:50:03   great Calvin and Hobbes was and they're [TS]

00:50:04   not wrong but there's another great [TS]

00:50:07   comic strip that ended in 1995 because [TS]

00:50:09   the Creator got tired of it and the far [TS]

00:50:11   side i think is the best looking one [TS]

00:50:14   panel weird situation gag strips ever [TS]

00:50:17   absolutely now the movie's gonna be [TS]

00:50:19   tricky [TS]

00:50:20   uh-huh because they did that Don Martin [TS]

00:50:22   movie and that worked out yeah right [TS]

00:50:24   there and pump fails from the far side [TS]

00:50:28   and anyway feels like all of the [TS]

00:50:29   firesides take place in kind of the same [TS]

00:50:31   universe where all the cows were fifties [TS]

00:50:33   fashion eyeglasses and also there are [TS]

00:50:36   you a man or something and midvale [TS]

00:50:38   school for the gifted you know just the [TS]

00:50:40   far side was so good to be a movie going [TS]

00:50:43   in completely the other direction I'm [TS]

00:50:45   going to have to ignore the rules of [TS]

00:50:47   legality here the current music George [TS]

00:50:50   Perez jala / Avengers featuring every [TS]

00:50:54   single comic book character it's a comic [TS]

00:50:56   book and when Disney buys Warner [TS]

00:50:58   Brothers it was fine before well they're [TS]

00:50:59   also you have to get back the mutants [TS]

00:51:01   and like man thing is going to happen or [TS]

00:51:06   what I like about that idea is that in [TS]

00:51:07   the book the DC heroes go to the marvel [TS]

00:51:09   universe and say you everything so dirty [TS]

00:51:11   and gritty here they must be terrible [TS]

00:51:13   heroes marvel heroes go to the DC [TS]

00:51:15   Universe and say hello everything so [TS]

00:51:17   shiny and clean these guys must be [TS]

00:51:19   authoritarian fascist so that's the [TS]

00:51:21   first step to fight letting the movie [TS]

00:51:23   universes that would go the opposite way [TS]

00:51:24   we're looking people would go to the DC [TS]

00:51:26   Universe ago [TS]

00:51:27   do they have superheroes here are they [TS]

00:51:30   doing with their time imagining the [TS]

00:51:34   Batman ironman face off now [TS]

00:51:36   no there's a webcomic think would that [TS]

00:51:40   has just gone away again but in 2006 [TS]

00:51:44   generate wealth 2006 is when it started [TS]

00:51:46   the great outdoor fight storyline was [TS]

00:51:49   amazing i'm not sure how well would work [TS]

00:51:52   as a movie if the protagonist were still [TS]

00:51:54   cats but the premise of three days three [TS]

00:51:58   acres 3,000 men fighting down until [TS]

00:52:01   there's one person left i would go [TS]

00:52:03   animated with the exact same art style [TS]

00:52:06   and it would be it would be an [TS]

00:52:08   unparalleled success because it's so [TS]

00:52:10   different told I'd watch that [TS]

00:52:12   yeah me too a thousand times a day i got [TS]

00:52:14   like three more I want a new little nemo [TS]

00:52:17   movie or dream of their big fiend is [TS]

00:52:19   there which I can't tell the difference [TS]

00:52:21   yeah I think disney should make a movie [TS]

00:52:23   starring mickey mouse because it's weird [TS]

00:52:26   that the closest they have to mickey [TS]

00:52:27   mouse being a movie is Fantasia [TS]

00:52:29   specifically I'd go with the floyd get [TS]

00:52:32   fordson comic strips maybe go to 1930s [TS]

00:52:35   with that run where he tries to commit [TS]

00:52:37   suicide for an entire week maybe not [TS]

00:52:40   Mickey Mouse in the comic strips is way [TS]

00:52:43   more interesting that I ever gave him [TS]

00:52:45   credit for it and seeing his shorts so I [TS]

00:52:47   think that food version of Mickey Mouse [TS]

00:52:48   could be a good movie and finally I know [TS]

00:52:51   they're making a bird-of-prey movie with [TS]

00:52:53   this new harley quinn thing I want a [TS]

00:52:55   good birds of prey movie [TS]

00:52:57   yes such a good birds of prey movie so [TS]

00:53:00   it's not my official recommends maybe [TS]

00:53:02   this movie they're making will be it [TS]

00:53:04   mm I wouldn't hold my breath if it isn't [TS]

00:53:07   could we try again in two lovebirds of [TS]

00:53:09   frame let's just get started in advance [TS]

00:53:11   on on the reboot of the movie that has [TS]

00:53:14   been yet why not i'll let them put black [TS]

00:53:17   canary in the fishnets a leather jacket [TS]

00:53:18   but she can still beat people up in that [TS]

00:53:21   I mean the power girls got the transom [TS]

00:53:23   she can certainly that's different [TS]

00:53:25   that's what I got [TS]

00:53:27   alright great voice s what do you have [TS]

00:53:29   left over [TS]

00:53:30   well I'll start on the superhero side of [TS]

00:53:31   things because there isn't actually that [TS]

00:53:33   much on that side when when it comes [TS]

00:53:36   down to it i would love to see I you [TS]

00:53:40   could flip a coin [TS]

00:53:41   honestly either the power pack or next [TS]

00:53:44   wave agents of hate for Marvel where [TS]

00:53:47   Marvel just take some characters that [TS]

00:53:49   they don't have to build up to a team [TS]

00:53:50   movie and just do the team movie and [TS]

00:53:54   just let the team dynamic work since [TS]

00:53:56   they don't have access to the Fantastic [TS]

00:53:57   Four and the x-men and all that kind of [TS]

00:53:59   stuff do something with with with a [TS]

00:54:01   couple of properties that they [TS]

00:54:02   absolutely own free and clear and can do [TS]

00:54:05   some neat stuff with and i should also [TS]

00:54:08   mention that a few of these other things [TS]

00:54:09   on my list at friends of mine would [TS]

00:54:11   would receive royalties for so there's I [TS]

00:54:14   guess my statement of full disclosure [TS]

00:54:16   and so on and so forth and i say that [TS]

00:54:18   because my next one is Howard the Duck [TS]

00:54:19   it's it's been long enough it's been [TS]

00:54:22   long enough we can do a decent howard [TS]

00:54:24   the duck movie a comic book that outsold [TS]

00:54:26   amazing spider-man at the peak of its [TS]

00:54:28   popularity can absolutely sustain an [TS]

00:54:31   entertaining movie when we've had seven [TS]

00:54:34   spider-man movie [TS]

00:54:34   is that have had a you you could say [TS]

00:54:37   mixed bag level of success and that [TS]

00:54:40   would be generous [TS]

00:54:41   howard the duck is something that they [TS]

00:54:44   can live alongside the Marvel connected [TS]

00:54:46   universe and the giant cereal that [TS]

00:54:48   they've been doing without having to [TS]

00:54:50   touch any of that stuff he's and [TS]

00:54:52   guardians of the galaxy [TS]

00:54:53   yes in guardians of the galaxy but he [TS]

00:54:56   has nothing but a a just kind of side [TS]

00:54:59   story relation to things he's not gonna [TS]

00:55:01   show up in infinity war and be the one [TS]

00:55:03   to put on the Infinity Gauntlet and [TS]

00:55:04   punched a nose in the face that's not [TS]

00:55:06   gonna happen but let him do the kind of [TS]

00:55:08   social commentary and ride humor that [TS]

00:55:11   the comic book was so well known for and [TS]

00:55:12   so beloved for that despite the terrible [TS]

00:55:15   Lucasfilm movie is the reason that [TS]

00:55:17   people have persisted in love Howard the [TS]

00:55:20   Duck over the last 40 years [TS]

00:55:22   also on the superhero side of things [TS]

00:55:25   uh I mentioned connected universe I've [TS]

00:55:27   got a connected universe that is is more [TS]

00:55:29   tightly knit that on the comic side of [TS]

00:55:31   things has been shocking me with with [TS]

00:55:34   how well it's been doing in in in really [TS]

00:55:37   doing superhero comics in a way that [TS]

00:55:40   doesn't require me to read $45 single [TS]

00:55:43   issues a month and that is the entire [TS]

00:55:45   valiant connected university I to start [TS]

00:55:49   off with [TS]

00:55:50   I guess you would say XO Manowar would [TS]

00:55:52   be your starting point they're in the [TS]

00:55:54   process of actively developing all that [TS]

00:55:56   stuff yeah movies or TV shows that kind [TS]

00:55:58   of thing but they are really I i don't [TS]

00:56:02   mean this to come off as like you know [TS]

00:56:04   dead as some sort of underhanded [TS]

00:56:07   compliment but I did not expect ninj ack [TS]

00:56:10   james bond and also inja to be one of [TS]

00:56:14   the best most entertaining superhero [TS]

00:56:16   comics being written on the stands today [TS]

00:56:18   but it absolutely is [TS]

00:56:20   they have characters that in the [TS]

00:56:23   nineties uh original era of valiance [TS]

00:56:26   were in many ways consider to be oh [TS]

00:56:28   that's kind of like the x-men but with a [TS]

00:56:30   weird megalomaniacal Professor X that's [TS]

00:56:33   still kind of the case but they take [TS]

00:56:35   those bones and they have reengineered [TS]

00:56:38   this amazing genetic mutation of really [TS]

00:56:41   brilliant storytelling around all that [TS]

00:56:44   in general I think I think valiant does [TS]

00:56:46   not get its do in the modern superhero [TS]

00:56:49   age now jumping completely away from [TS]

00:56:50   superheroes there is a series from the [TS]

00:56:53   nineties that is deeply beloved that [TS]

00:56:56   people have tried to develop I I think [TS]

00:56:58   predominantly for movies i think the [TS]

00:57:01   Creator is now may be interested in TV [TS]

00:57:03   just whatever from you know somebody who [TS]

00:57:05   really gets the material and would do it [TS]

00:57:07   well and it was a mega-success one of [TS]

00:57:10   the most successful really true [TS]

00:57:13   independent comics strangers in paradise [TS]

00:57:16   with you last as a as a as a as a [TS]

00:57:21   romance comic that deliberately miscast [TS]

00:57:25   it's leads in a way you've got to you've [TS]

00:57:28   got a love triangle of two girls in a [TS]

00:57:30   guy and it and it was not the kind of [TS]

00:57:32   narrative that you expected then or even [TS]

00:57:35   i would say arguably now in terms of [TS]

00:57:38   something that was as popular as it was [TS]

00:57:39   I deeply deeply beloved a series written [TS]

00:57:43   drawn and letter to by hand by texas is [TS]

00:57:47   own Terry Moore also that goes for his [TS]

00:57:51   follow-up series echo which i think [TS]

00:57:53   would be great as its own single [TS]

00:57:55   standalone movie strangers in paradise i [TS]

00:57:57   think you could probably easily get two [TS]

00:58:00   maybe three movies out of because [TS]

00:58:01   there's a lot of meat there it depends [TS]

00:58:03   on where you stop it yeah yeah it [TS]

00:58:05   depends on where you stop it's something [TS]

00:58:07   that it could do the TV side of things [TS]

00:58:09   and so I kind of resisted putting it on [TS]

00:58:11   my list at first because of that but i [TS]

00:58:12   think that it is so extremely cinematic [TS]

00:58:15   in terms of the the way that it grew and [TS]

00:58:18   he composed from the beginning I feel [TS]

00:58:20   like it would lend itself rather nicely [TS]

00:58:22   a few other uh one-offs you know again [TS]

00:58:26   full disclosure we're all friends of [TS]

00:58:27   anthony johnson we all loved Anthony [TS]

00:58:29   Johnson who has a show called unjustly [TS]

00:58:31   maligned right here on this very never [TS]

00:58:32   yeah let's give him and movie commando [TS]

00:58:33   movie he could possibly he needs to be [TS]

00:58:38   alright Justin [TS]

00:58:40   two movies are friends all need movie [TS]

00:58:43   and I have a mutual love of some of some [TS]

00:58:47   fantasy movies from the eighties dark [TS]

00:58:49   crystal being one of them that [TS]

00:58:52   influenced a comic of his that is very [TS]

00:58:55   much its own thing it is not pass [TS]

00:58:56   station is not Antony just doing his [TS]

00:58:58   version of one of these properties and [TS]

00:59:00   it is a book called umbral yeah a [TS]

00:59:01   fantasy book with weird creepy things [TS]

00:59:04   that go bump in the night [TS]

00:59:05   it is really exceptional I wish it had [TS]

00:59:07   gone beyond two volumes to this point [TS]

00:59:10   he's not opposed to continuing and he [TS]

00:59:11   has a lot more story to tell and would [TS]

00:59:13   love to talk more story i would love for [TS]

00:59:15   him to be able to tell that more story [TS]

00:59:16   by seeing get optioned for a a really [TS]

00:59:20   cool really awesome fantasy fantasy film [TS]

00:59:23   series because they're there is there's [TS]

00:59:26   so much material there other really [TS]

00:59:29   great current indie comics another image [TS]

00:59:33   book velvet what is the James Bond spy [TS]

00:59:36   organization [TS]

00:59:37   what if the secretary what if Miss [TS]

00:59:38   Moneypenny were really the radically [TS]

00:59:41   most competent spy in the building and [TS]

00:59:44   something went amiss and she had to [TS]

00:59:46   solve everything and fix everything [TS]

00:59:48   it is some of the best work that Edward [TS]

00:59:51   Baker steve epting and Elizabeth Wright [TS]

00:59:53   wiser have done together and those three [TS]

00:59:56   have worked on legendary issues of [TS]

00:59:58   Captain America [TS]

00:59:58   Captain America [TS]

01:00:00   so that's saying something fantastic spy [TS]

01:00:02   series that I I hope it's already in [TS]

01:00:05   development somewhere couple others [TS]

01:00:08   Caillou max from only press I written [TS]

01:00:12   and drawn by Xander cannon he's been [TS]

01:00:15   releasing it as seasons season 1 season [TS]

01:00:18   2 but they work just as well as as as [TS]

01:00:20   effectively being graphic novel length [TS]

01:00:22   storyboards for feature films [TS]

01:00:26   what if there were a supermax prison for [TS]

01:00:28   kaiju giant monsters just that's all the [TS]

01:00:31   what if you need you should already be [TS]

01:00:33   going out to buy this ten dollar trade [TS]

01:00:36   of the first volume of it is I don't [TS]

01:00:37   think is almost done now to others are [TS]

01:00:41   legendary black hole by Charles burns [TS]

01:00:45   another pretty simple bitch I what if a [TS]

01:00:49   sexually transmitted disease caused [TS]

01:00:50   super grow test mutations in a bunch of [TS]

01:00:53   teenagers I i would say that the the [TS]

01:00:55   recent horror movie it follows uh was [TS]

01:00:58   was potentially inspired a little bit [TS]

01:01:01   bye-bye where this comic goes about it [TS]

01:01:04   is it is one of those great black and [TS]

01:01:06   white comics really masterworks of the [TS]

01:01:10   last 20-30 years I lose track of what [TS]

01:01:13   you're wearing and what your came out [TS]

01:01:14   and i think the only one I've got left [TS]

01:01:18   uh to actually Mike Richardson the [TS]

01:01:23   publisher of dark horse comics teamed up [TS]

01:01:25   with stan sakai to do an adaptation of [TS]

01:01:28   the 47 ronin and we really have not seen [TS]

01:01:30   a great adaptation of that legendary [TS]

01:01:33   japanese a story cinematically certainly [TS]

01:01:38   the weird train wreck thing that keanu [TS]

01:01:41   reeves involved in in live-action at [TS]

01:01:43   Universal didn't go so well I think it [TS]

01:01:46   would be phenomenal to see it animated [TS]

01:01:48   it would also work in live-action if it [TS]

01:01:51   were just strictly straight-up adapted [TS]

01:01:54   that way with the a list of japanese [TS]

01:01:57   film actors that are out there and then [TS]

01:01:59   my my last one is a really compelling [TS]

01:02:04   finite series by scott snyder and sean [TS]

01:02:08   Murphy for the vertical label called the [TS]

01:02:10   wake they're terrible things in the deep [TS]

01:02:13   and I there is an unexpected i jump [TS]

01:02:20   I won't say in what respect but they're [TS]

01:02:22   there is a jump somewhere else [TS]

01:02:24   I right smack-dab in the middle of the [TS]

01:02:26   series that i did not see coming and [TS]

01:02:29   that you don't really expect to see [TS]

01:02:30   coming unless you have a spoiled for you [TS]

01:02:31   that I think would work particularly [TS]

01:02:34   well either as the midpoint in a single [TS]

01:02:38   film or as the cliffhanger to a2 a2 a [TS]

01:02:41   two-part adaptation of it and regardless [TS]

01:02:44   i highly recommend it go go seek it out [TS]

01:02:47   go go by the comic versions of [TS]

01:02:49   everything that I've said and and don't [TS]

01:02:52   get spoiled on that [TS]

01:02:53   yeah yeah oh god I'm sorry i I'm really [TS]

01:02:57   really sorry Jason I do have one more [TS]

01:02:59   that is a non-connected um I know let's [TS]

01:03:02   go ahead in fact that it's my turn again [TS]

01:03:05   the diaspora of 2000ad rogue trooper [TS]

01:03:08   strontium dog robust ters slain the [TS]

01:03:11   ballot of halo Jones there there is this [TS]

01:03:14   rich treasure trove of British comics [TS]

01:03:17   that have been made see realized weekly [TS]

01:03:19   since 1977 that that is is at once I [TS]

01:03:23   guess you would say Cinematic Universe [TS]

01:03:25   but the stories don't have this [TS]

01:03:27   crisscrossing cross in crossover nature [TS]

01:03:30   to them so if anything it would be a [TS]

01:03:33   brand of of cinematic treasures that you [TS]

01:03:36   don't have to watch all of you can just [TS]

01:03:38   go watch the crazy barbarian fantasy or [TS]

01:03:40   you can watch the robot you know death [TS]

01:03:44   spree thing or you can watch the you [TS]

01:03:47   know near future mercenary private [TS]

01:03:49   military corporation hard sci-fi thing [TS]

01:03:52   all right Lisa what do you have left [TS]

01:03:55   alright this is lighting around a soda [TS]

01:03:57   first up [TS]

01:03:58   yes one of my favorite 12 issue series [TS]

01:04:01   in the last 20 years has been by [TS]

01:04:02   brandwood and ryan kelly its local it's [TS]

01:04:05   a comic about a young woman making [TS]

01:04:07   makinen and over the course of every [TS]

01:04:09   issue she bounces through different [TS]

01:04:12   cities in the US and has sorted has a [TS]

01:04:16   sort of counters that gradually not [TS]

01:04:18   from being kind of a realist vagabond of [TS]

01:04:21   22 to a woman who finally settles down [TS]

01:04:23   in her late twenties early thirties icle [TS]

01:04:26   shaukat playing her and yeah it's and [TS]

01:04:30   it's an episode in the the book is [TS]

01:04:32   episodic and the movie could just be a [TS]

01:04:33   string of episodes too so you could [TS]

01:04:35   either do it as an apology or you can [TS]

01:04:38   just system to the dude who directs [TS]

01:04:39   drunk history drug could do them all [TS]

01:04:41   because honestly had some of the best [TS]

01:04:42   directorial work I've see he on TV and i [TS]

01:04:46   think that i think the episodic nature [TS]

01:04:47   would carry over really well so local by [TS]

01:04:49   brand when Ryan Kelly it's a lovely soft [TS]

01:04:51   contains story it's um and I think it's [TS]

01:04:54   something that would hit with a lot of [TS]

01:04:55   people who do take all of which when [TS]

01:04:57   used to try to figure out you know how [TS]

01:04:59   how much of who i am as a result of my [TS]

01:05:01   experiences and how many of my [TS]

01:05:03   experiences have been a result of me [TS]

01:05:04   trying to figure out who i am and when [TS]

01:05:06   they finally entangle it and find some [TS]

01:05:08   measure piece of that question the the [TS]

01:05:09   movie and it's very lovely the second [TS]

01:05:12   quick and i have is a comic book series [TS]

01:05:15   that when I read it I was like holy crap [TS]

01:05:17   this is kinda like dead wood cross with [TS]

01:05:18   the wire and dragged into 21st century [TS]

01:05:21   and it's scalped by jason aaron and [TS]

01:05:24   armed with new era and it takes place on [TS]

01:05:28   Uggla Lakota reservation inset in South [TS]

01:05:31   Dakota and the hero of the the titular [TS]

01:05:35   hero he's really an antihero I'm [TS]

01:05:37   national bad horse works for the FBI he [TS]

01:05:39   has to go back to the rez and go [TS]

01:05:41   undercover because they're there are [TS]

01:05:43   many bad doings anyway it's um a deeply [TS]

01:05:46   knew our series and there is no small [TS]

01:05:49   amount of mysticism in it and i think it [TS]

01:05:51   would make a really elegant little an [TS]

01:05:54   elegant and and mean little more and [TS]

01:05:57   it's a group of characters that you [TS]

01:05:59   don't often see in these kind of movies [TS]

01:06:00   are doing the kind of social pressures [TS]

01:06:02   that again aren't really common to the [TS]

01:06:04   rest of the American more genre so i [TS]

01:06:07   would like to see scalped if we were [TS]

01:06:09   making Scouts 20 years ago Adam beach [TS]

01:06:11   would obviously be the dude cast for it [TS]

01:06:13   but now I would actually cast him as as [TS]

01:06:15   the ostensible bill is the essential [TS]

01:06:17   villain on red crow my third one [TS]

01:06:21   one of my favorite series is the [TS]

01:06:24   transcendently stupid god hates [TS]

01:06:26   astronauts by Ryan Braun it is it is [TS]

01:06:29   transcendently stupid you know [TS]

01:06:31   stereo so delightfully ass and I like it [TS]

01:06:34   round a corner comes back again to sort [TS]

01:06:36   of demented brilliance is just so [TS]

01:06:38   gleefully witless leave ogre and [TS]

01:06:41   exuberantly dumb and i love it [TS]

01:06:44   Lisa Lisa can I can I can I share your [TS]

01:06:48   lover for just a moment just to throw it [TS]

01:06:50   out to those of you who have not read [TS]

01:06:51   this yet there's a character named [TS]

01:06:52   Prince tiger eating a cheeseburger and [TS]

01:06:54   that is yet actual legal full name and [TS]

01:06:57   because he is indeed attacker he's a [TS]

01:06:58   cheeseburger [TS]

01:06:59   yeah actually a prince yeah the use of [TS]

01:07:02   rescue tired and he is permanently [TS]

01:07:04   eating a cheeseburger always always [TS]

01:07:05   eating a cheeseburger this this book is [TS]

01:07:08   is just Ryan Braun defined whole new [TS]

01:07:10   genres of stupid and then was like no [TS]

01:07:12   this is not my masterwork I have to keep [TS]

01:07:14   going and have like a beautiful mind [TS]

01:07:15   moment and kept going it was delightful [TS]

01:07:17   we need to make sure that everybody on [TS]

01:07:18   here understands that NASA is behind [TS]

01:07:20   everything because if they don't the [TS]

01:07:22   NASA NASA is going to sit there hit [TS]

01:07:24   squads and kill them all [TS]

01:07:26   yeah it's there's a lot going on there's [TS]

01:07:27   a rhinoceros of the pen protect with a [TS]

01:07:29   pocket protector there they're born [TS]

01:07:31   again farmers sending cows into space [TS]

01:07:34   anyway long story short someone needs to [TS]

01:07:36   toss this into the lap of Seth Rogen and [TS]

01:07:39   his friends because i'm pretty sure [TS]

01:07:40   they're the only ones who'll [TS]

01:07:41   sensibilities could do it justice [TS]

01:07:44   don't worry that they would get to stone [TS]

01:07:46   to do it right now James Franco is [TS]

01:07:48   obviously going to be by fucker by crook [TS]

01:07:51   Jonah Hill will play Prince tiger eating [TS]

01:07:54   a cheeseburger and I've got it all [TS]

01:07:55   worked out in my head so moving on to [TS]

01:07:59   the next one we've already talked about [TS]

01:08:01   Brian Clevenger's working directly [TS]

01:08:02   because he's responsible for atomic robo [TS]

01:08:04   which Jason pitched which was on my [TS]

01:08:06   quick hits list but he was also [TS]

01:08:08   responsible for revamping the Infinity [TS]

01:08:10   Gauntlet saga for marvel comics and it [TS]

01:08:13   is hilarious [TS]

01:08:14   um the doctor Jim character alone had be [TS]

01:08:16   like stuffing my map my system announced [TS]

01:08:18   to keep from waking up my husband [TS]

01:08:20   because I made the mistake of reading in [TS]

01:08:21   bed one night and I think it would be [TS]

01:08:23   just a great little um I'm not sure if I [TS]

01:08:27   want to tie it into the rest of the MC [TS]

01:08:29   or just leave it out there is a weird [TS]

01:08:31   little gem on its own but that movie [TS]

01:08:33   needs to be made because it's really [TS]

01:08:34   funny and feature Spider Man and Doctor [TS]

01:08:37   Doom and Hawkeye which weirdly enough [TS]

01:08:42   and thousands and it's it's bananas and [TS]

01:08:46   then my final ones on while I will [TS]

01:08:48   contend that Runaways would make a [TS]

01:08:50   better netflix series the same way that [TS]

01:08:51   I contend that that squirrel girl should [TS]

01:08:53   be a netflix series i still don't know I [TS]

01:08:56   still think the first story arc in ways [TS]

01:08:58   which ends with them battling the gear [TS]

01:09:00   room and taking back the planet from the [TS]

01:09:02   unearthly packed with your parents and [TS]

01:09:03   made I think if you end it with that [TS]

01:09:05   storyline that would make a good and [TS]

01:09:08   reasonably dark team and dark and funny [TS]

01:09:10   teen movie and I wouldn't mind seeing [TS]

01:09:13   that and then finally i have not even [TS]

01:09:14   begun to touch the treasure trove of [TS]

01:09:16   gail simone stuff including the book [TS]

01:09:18   leaving megalopolis which is about what [TS]

01:09:20   happens when superheroes go crazy and [TS]

01:09:22   become super villains and begin killing [TS]

01:09:23   everybody and have you escaped the [TS]

01:09:25   metropolis we're literally everybody can [TS]

01:09:27   track you down and kill you anytime they [TS]

01:09:28   want for fun but what I'm also thinking [TS]

01:09:32   is that if the DC if someone prices you [TS]

01:09:35   know this DC universe is a hot mess our [TS]

01:09:37   are birds of prey book is just our moves [TS]

01:09:40   a hot disaster and we're doing that [TS]

01:09:42   because those people in the podcast said [TS]

01:09:43   we needed 20 what we do we do for the [TS]

01:09:45   document in time someone I know we will [TS]

01:09:48   take a look at the secret six more [TS]

01:09:50   specifically the book that ran from [TS]

01:09:51   about 2002-2012 right after the DC [TS]

01:09:54   infinity crisis the secret six will be [TS]

01:09:56   fantastic it has amazon some other [TS]

01:09:59   planets and it has a total weirdo is a [TS]

01:10:02   contortionist who dresses up his monkeys [TS]

01:10:04   like his coworkers and it will be a [TS]

01:10:07   weird funny snappy ensemble it's it will [TS]

01:10:10   be everything that the stupid Suicide [TS]

01:10:13   Squad movie should have been but got [TS]

01:10:14   bogged down by the DC sensibility that [TS]

01:10:16   this is bright and perverse and I want [TS]

01:10:18   it anyway those are mine those are my [TS]

01:10:19   lightning rounds and my list a lot of [TS]

01:10:22   these are very much uh the well what's [TS]

01:10:24   been said before is really it needs to [TS]

01:10:26   be done on as a TV series so many [TS]

01:10:28   stories really could be done that way i [TS]

01:10:30   would contend and there are issues with [TS]

01:10:32   the the coherency of the Cinematic [TS]

01:10:34   Universe but I we contend that perhaps [TS]

01:10:36   the best way to tell to adapt bad [TS]

01:10:39   fractions Hawkeye is in a film and it [TS]

01:10:43   just can't have jeremy renner in it is [TS]

01:10:46   the problem there and that is a problem [TS]

01:10:49   Oh No what'll we do good ultimate [TS]

01:10:51   Hawkeye but the problem is they've stuck [TS]

01:10:53   many universes got no ultimate [TS]

01:10:54   sensibility yeah they got it they got to [TS]

01:10:56   make a break from the MCU to do that [TS]

01:10:59   he's fine a movie where he can be the [TS]

01:11:00   sixth most interesting hours exactly [TS]

01:11:03   right but he needs to be more than this [TS]

01:11:04   Hawkeye needs to be more and more sad [TS]

01:11:06   sack club then I think render can do my [TS]

01:11:09   I would like i did put some marble ones [TS]

01:11:12   on here all I try to refrain from that I [TS]

01:11:13   I think maybe a although this would I [TS]

01:11:16   guess be done by Columbia but now they [TS]

01:11:18   work with Marvel I don't know that one [TS]

01:11:20   point they were talking about doing a [TS]

01:11:21   venom movie and I find venom as a [TS]

01:11:23   villain uninteresting but i find the [TS]

01:11:25   venom that is Flash Thompson who is a [TS]

01:11:28   wounded vet who has lost his legs in [TS]

01:11:31   combat and but he can gone the symbiotic [TS]

01:11:34   Venom symbiote thingy and become a [TS]

01:11:38   superhero and he goes into space and [TS]

01:11:41   stuff i think that's an interesting [TS]

01:11:43   story that might be a spin on that [TS]

01:11:45   character that would be cool especially [TS]

01:11:47   when you've got a wounded veteran who [TS]

01:11:49   becomes a superhero I think that's a fun [TS]

01:11:51   twist on that jim Starlin is classic [TS]

01:11:55   independent sci fi / superhero / I don't [TS]

01:12:00   even know it's every genre at all once [TS]

01:12:02   dread star I think might make a good [TS]

01:12:05   movie it's all it would probably be a [TS]

01:12:06   lot like guardians of the galaxy [TS]

01:12:08   although probably less do dish little [TS]

01:12:11   less broey then guardians of the galaxy [TS]

01:12:13   but similar in that you've got a you've [TS]

01:12:15   got a cyborg preacher and you've got a [TS]

01:12:18   cat pilot and you've got this guy [TS]

01:12:21   wearing kind of a purple Jedi robe who's [TS]

01:12:23   got a magic sword [TS]

01:12:25   there's something like Megaforce with a [TS]

01:12:27   budget there's magic and there's magic [TS]

01:12:30   and aliens and a battle between kind of [TS]

01:12:33   a theocracy and rebellion [TS]

01:12:36   it's a lot of fun dread star and I think [TS]

01:12:39   that might make a good movie out of [TS]

01:12:41   those core parts some a bunch of things [TS]

01:12:45   that I think maybe locking key which i [TS]

01:12:47   was going to be developed a TV show and [TS]

01:12:49   then turned into a movie to deal that [TS]

01:12:52   died and now is going to be helped the [TS]

01:12:53   TV show again TV is probably the right [TS]

01:12:56   format for that although i can imagine [TS]

01:12:58   it as a series of films the problem with [TS]

01:13:01   series of films is that they [TS]

01:13:02   take one it doesn't do that well and [TS]

01:13:04   they never make any more but as a horror [TS]

01:13:06   / action you know kind of magic vehicle [TS]

01:13:11   about key house and the magic keys that [TS]

01:13:13   do different things i think that would [TS]

01:13:14   be a really cool i keep imagining almost [TS]

01:13:17   kind of like I said almost a harry [TS]

01:13:19   potter is touch to it but but not quite [TS]

01:13:22   as family-friendly i'm a sucker for kids [TS]

01:13:25   superheroes and I would like I'm tired [TS]

01:13:27   of spider-man's my favorite like comic [TS]

01:13:29   book character but I am so overseeing [TS]

01:13:32   spider-man's origin or or uh let's see [TS]

01:13:36   who else Batman's origin or any of these [TS]

01:13:38   hero origins we've seen a million times [TS]

01:13:40   before but I and a nice kids superhero [TS]

01:13:43   movie would be a lot of fun so my two [TS]

01:13:46   suggestions there are four either marvel [TS]

01:13:49   to do a ms marvel movie that is based on [TS]

01:13:52   Willow Wilson's current ms marvel which [TS]

01:13:55   is come on or a DC movie about the Blue [TS]

01:13:59   Beetle with Jaime Reyes the Blue Beetle [TS]

01:14:02   because those are both kids who are not [TS]

01:14:06   what we usually see in superheroes [TS]

01:14:07   because they are both people of color [TS]

01:14:09   and they are kids who get powers and [TS]

01:14:12   have to deal with it in high races case [TS]

01:14:14   he gets like a beetle thing stuck on his [TS]

01:14:16   neck and now he's got the armor and [TS]

01:14:18   that's a fun character and and ms marvel [TS]

01:14:20   similarly she gets a exposed to the [TS]

01:14:23   Terrigen mists and she's got also too [TS]

01:14:24   wacky powers i love how they are both of [TS]

01:14:28   those characters have to balance their [TS]

01:14:29   family and being students and being kids [TS]

01:14:31   with the responsibility that comes with [TS]

01:14:33   having powers without telling me about [TS]

01:14:35   Uncle Ben dying again because i don't [TS]

01:14:38   want to see it again enough he want a [TS]

01:14:40   few more really quick dance lots recent [TS]

01:14:43   take on the silver surfer uh I think [TS]

01:14:46   would make a hilarious movie with with [TS]

01:14:48   his girlfriend dawn writer who on the [TS]

01:14:51   board that would be so fun you can I [TS]

01:14:54   think the alan moore again sorry Alan [TS]

01:14:57   Moore but the allen war swamp found [TS]

01:15:00   don't apologize to him he cashes all the [TS]

01:15:02   china-us one thing series with that the [TS]

01:15:05   anatomy lesson all of that that classic [TS]

01:15:08   there's one thing story i would love to [TS]

01:15:09   see is a movie [TS]

01:15:10   quite honestly I think that would be [TS]

01:15:11   super creepy and great and finally [TS]

01:15:15   because my assessment [TS]

01:15:16   it and assumed that someone was going to [TS]

01:15:18   pick it but nobody's mentioned it yet [TS]

01:15:19   Noelle Stevenson dimona would be a great [TS]

01:15:22   movie probably animated but i don't care [TS]

01:15:26   i want to see Aloysius golden loin on [TS]

01:15:29   the big screen where he belongs [TS]

01:15:32   along with shape-shifting Ramona I was [TS]

01:15:35   pretty firing 28 Noelle Stevenson [TS]

01:15:36   lumberjanes pitch before I had the sense [TS]

01:15:39   to look it up and of course that's [TS]

01:15:40   already going to be a move already [TS]

01:15:42   yeah yeah so that's it we have we have [TS]

01:15:46   done a lot of good work here i think the [TS]

01:15:48   future of comic book movies is solved [TS]

01:15:50   thanks to us and hooray for iced it just [TS]

01:15:53   send the checks to being comfortable [TS]

01:15:54   that's only that's right that's right [TS]

01:15:55   make sure to get routed to the right [TS]

01:15:57   destination it's fine i just use the [TS]

01:15:59   internet right to the incomparable care [TS]

01:16:01   of the internet and it'll be fine [TS]

01:16:04   I so I'd like to thank my panelists for [TS]

01:16:06   joining me in this fun little a little [TS]

01:16:08   idea session about movies that you can [TS]

01:16:11   make about comic books that that are not [TS]

01:16:13   being made right now John McCoy thank [TS]
