257: Relay FM Family Feud

00:00:00   [Applause]

00:00:18   Sorry, the beginning of the shows are always awkward because I have to hit record and stream and stuff, so you're just hanging out.

00:00:25   [Howl]

00:00:27   How is everybody? We are very excited about what we have in store for you

00:00:36   tonight. The first and honestly probably last Relay FM Family Feud. I have a

00:00:43   couple of people to bring out. First our scorekeeper and my co-founder Myke

00:00:48   Hurley.

00:00:50   (audience cheers)

00:00:53   - Hello, San Francisco.

00:01:02   (audience cheers)

00:01:05   - And now, the man of the hour.

00:01:08   - Is he?

00:01:09   - He is the man of the hour.

00:01:10   (audience laughs)

00:01:12   We are now all in the Snell Zone.

00:01:14   Give it up for Jason.

00:01:15   (audience cheers)

00:01:18   (audience applauding)

00:01:21   - Did people know they were signing up

00:01:30   to come see a game show when they bought these tickets?

00:01:34   - I don't wanna say it was a trick,

00:01:36   but it wasn't not a trick.

00:01:39   - Well, we wanted to figure out a way

00:01:42   to get many, many Relay FM, Relay.fm, Relay.fm.

00:01:47   - Hey, hey.

00:01:48   - Switch on?

00:01:50   - Switch on.

00:01:52   - Hosts on stage, as many as possible.

00:01:55   And how do you do that?

00:01:57   How do you do like a talent show

00:01:59   and people juggle or something like that?

00:02:00   What do you do?

00:02:02   And we said we're gonna make them play a game show

00:02:06   live on stage, 'cause what would be worse

00:02:09   for them than that?

00:02:10   - I mean, if we were juggling chainsaws, that may be worse.

00:02:15   - Well-- - Really?

00:02:15   - I'm still young.

00:02:16   (audience laughing)

00:02:18   That's round three.

00:02:19   - Then all winners. - Spoilers.

00:02:21   - Yeah, that's a members only special.

00:02:23   - It's more like dismember.

00:02:26   (audience cheering)

00:02:29   - Good luck Jason. - Sing.

00:02:35   - You took Steven's bad joke, made it a good joke.

00:02:37   (audience laughing)

00:02:40   - So we are going to be playing something called

00:02:42   the Relay FM feud, which for those who don't know is not totally not based on a very popular

00:02:50   game show.

00:02:51   The idea is that we did a poll, we did a survey in the last few weeks, we got what, 4,000

00:03:01   responses?

00:03:02   3,000, Kathy is telling me.

00:03:07   Our producer Kathy Campbell.

00:03:08   - So just to round up the poll.

00:03:09   - Mrs. Soup in the chat room telling me 3,000.

00:03:12   3,000, normally the Family Feud gets 100.

00:03:16   We got 3,000, so thank you, we love our listeners.

00:03:18   The way this works, however, is that this is not

00:03:20   a quiz show where we ask our contestants

00:03:22   for the right answer.

00:03:23   Instead, we make them guess what you, the relay FM,

00:03:27   relay.fm, switch on, listeners,

00:03:29   how you answered the question.

00:03:33   So you don't have to be right, you just have to be

00:03:36   like thinking like a Relay FM listener.

00:03:39   - Can I give the question and answer

00:03:41   of one of the non-used questions from round four?

00:03:44   Just 'cause it's very good.

00:03:46   Which is the technology movie question.

00:03:48   - Sure.

00:03:49   - So we asked 3,127 people,

00:03:51   what is your favorite technology movie?

00:03:57   The top answer was The Matrix.

00:04:00   - Now, to be clear, in The Matrix,

00:04:04   Keanu Reeves is a computer programmer

00:04:06   and he has a Sony mini disc player.

00:04:07   I don't know what your--

00:04:08   - But the rest of the answers are like sneakers,

00:04:10   piracy Silicon Valley, the social network,

00:04:12   technology movies, The Matrix is not a technology movie,

00:04:16   but it was the top answer, so.

00:04:18   - The entire Matrix is itself a computer program.

00:04:21   - We should move on.

00:04:22   - It doesn't work like a--

00:04:23   (audience laughing)

00:04:24   - Think like a relay FM listener.

00:04:25   All right, let me introduce our first two teams.

00:04:28   We're gonna do a little tournament here.

00:04:30   They're gonna be two rounds with our four teams,

00:04:33   and then the winners will go on to a special

00:04:35   championship round later in tonight's show.

00:04:38   So first-- - There are trophies.

00:04:39   - There are trophies, they're over there.

00:04:41   There are five trophies.

00:04:43   One of them is a special Founders Trophy

00:04:45   that we'll be giving out later,

00:04:46   as well to one of our beloved founders.

00:04:49   - The best one.

00:04:50   (audience laughing)

00:04:51   - I look forward to taking it home.

00:04:53   - The best one to be determined who that is in another game.

00:04:56   All right, so first, the team that we're lovingly

00:04:59   referring to as Team A.

00:05:01   (audience laughing)

00:05:03   Micah Sargent, underscore David Smith,

00:05:07   Brad Dowdy, and Julia Scott, come on up.

00:05:11   (audience cheering and applauding)

00:05:15   All right, Micah Sargent,

00:05:29   co-host of Clockwise on Relay FM.

00:05:32   What's your team name?

00:05:34   - Well folks, I am happy to say

00:05:36   that we are Team Stick Bikini,

00:05:40   and all of you can thank Tiffany Arment for that.

00:05:43   Yeah.

00:05:44   - All right, excellent, yes.

00:05:45   Who is not here to have to deal with that name?

00:05:49   Which is kind of brilliant, kind of brilliant.

00:05:53   All right, lovingly known as Team B,

00:05:55   you see where I'm going with this.

00:05:57   It's Alex Cox, Flow Ion, David Sparks, and Quinn Rose.

00:06:02   Come on up.

00:06:03   (audience applauding)

00:06:06   Alex Cox.

00:06:16   What's your team name? - Yes.

00:06:18   - Do you remember it?

00:06:19   Do you need me to prompt you?

00:06:20   - No, I remember it.

00:06:21   We took this very, very seriously.

00:06:23   - Okay, good. - Mm-hmm.

00:06:24   We are the Power Chargers.

00:06:26   (audience laughing)

00:06:29   - I have positive chargers on the card, is that the?

00:06:32   - Did we change it?

00:06:33   (audience laughing)

00:06:34   Okay, so yeah, I do need to be--

00:06:35   - You have the chargers.

00:06:36   - We're the positive chargers.

00:06:37   - All right, that's fine.

00:06:39   It's all good, it's all good.

00:06:40   All right, here's how this is gonna work.

00:06:42   We're gonna take turns with the team captains, we'll start.

00:06:46   You're gonna come up here.

00:06:47   Alex, Micah, why don't you step up to the podium

00:06:51   with your microphones.

00:06:52   - Oh boy, here we go.

00:06:53   (audience laughing)

00:06:55   Oh yeah, it's serious now, it's serious.

00:06:57   They both have bells.

00:07:00   Why don't you give the bells a little test tap?

00:07:03   (bell ringing)

00:07:05   All right.

00:07:06   (audience laughing)

00:07:08   (bell ringing)

00:07:10   I gotta be able to tell them apart, okay.

00:07:14   - Oh, I see.

00:07:14   (audience laughing)

00:07:17   - Buzz in when you know the answer to this question.

00:07:21   And I'll just remind for those who don't know,

00:07:23   The person who chooses an answer with the most correct votes from listeners will get control of the board.

00:07:31   Boy, I feel like a game show host now. I said control of the board.

00:07:34   Here's your question. Name an Apple executive.

00:07:39   Micah.

00:07:41   Tim Cook.

00:07:43   Okay, the board, by the way, being operated by our very own Myke Hurley.

00:07:46   Hello.

00:07:47   Myke.

00:07:48   It's an Adobe Air application.

00:07:50   Yes, it is.

00:07:52   It is very complicated. I had to reboot my machine twice to install it.

00:07:57   Myke, Micah said Tim Cook. Show me Tim Cook.

00:08:01   Micah, you have control of the board if you want it. Do you want to pass or play?

00:08:10   We got to, we got to play.

00:08:11   Always play. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Oh yeah. I forgot. I bring it back.

00:08:16   You bring it back. Hand it off to me. Underscore David Smith.

00:08:21   Name an Apple executive.

00:08:22   - I'm gonna go with Eddie Q.

00:08:25   - Eddie Q, Myke Hurley, show me Eddie Q.

00:08:29   (bell dings)

00:08:32   (audience applauds)

00:08:34   - Oh no.

00:08:35   - All right, we have six answers.

00:08:37   You've got two, you have no strikes.

00:08:39   Three strikes and you're out

00:08:39   and the other team gets a chance to steal.

00:08:42   Brad, can you name...

00:08:44   (audience laughs)

00:08:49   - Tell us in the pen addict, can you name an Apple executive?

00:08:52   - Do they make pens?

00:08:53   I'm not sure if they make pens.

00:08:54   I know a little bit about hair,

00:08:57   so I'm gonna go with Craig Federighi.

00:08:59   (audience cheers)

00:09:02   - Good answer, good answer.

00:09:05   Show me Craig Federighi.

00:09:08   (bell dings)

00:09:09   (audience cheers)

00:09:11   Number two answer, number two answer.

00:09:13   All right, State Bikini, you have the number one

00:09:18   (audience laughing)

00:09:20   Two and four answers and no strikes.

00:09:22   You're doing really well.

00:09:23   Julia. - I just wanna point out

00:09:24   that I have Asperger's, so I'm gonna take that literally

00:09:26   and as a compliment.

00:09:28   (audience laughing)

00:09:29   I'm gonna say Steve Jobs.

00:09:32   - Show me Steve Jobs.

00:09:34   - Ooh, you ooh'd.

00:09:36   (audience cheering)

00:09:39   - Number five answer.

00:09:41   You're doing great, you're doing great.

00:09:44   Micah, it's back around to you.

00:09:45   We have four of the six answers.

00:09:47   I wish I knew when this survey was done.

00:09:51   - It's three weeks ago.

00:09:52   - Micah, Steve Jobs is on the board?

00:09:55   - Fair, fair, okay.

00:09:56   - I think you're okay.

00:09:59   - Again, you're not listing what's on the Apple webpage

00:10:02   of executives, you're listening to what our listeners

00:10:04   who we love answer.

00:10:06   - We love our listeners.

00:10:07   We love our listeners. - Our complicated listeners.

00:10:09   - Let's go with Sir Johnny Ive.

00:10:13   - Show me Johnny Ive, is he on the board?

00:10:17   (bell dings)

00:10:17   (audience cheers)

00:10:19   - I was building suspense there.

00:10:21   - Yeah, Myke with the dramatic pause before revealing.

00:10:24   - I've learned I have that power now.

00:10:26   (audience laughs)

00:10:27   - 'Cause he can click on the right answer

00:10:29   or he can click on the big X that's scary.

00:10:31   - I really wanna do the X at some point.

00:10:32   - Okay. - So good luck Dave.

00:10:34   - This may be your chance.

00:10:35   Underscore, you have a chance to clear the board

00:10:38   and get all the points in this round

00:10:40   if you can name number three out of the six.

00:10:45   go with Phil Schiller. Myke? Well done, you cleared the board, you showed us how it's

00:11:04   done. Now Myke is going to press a very important button here that is going to give you 100

00:11:08   points and hopefully not the other team. Alright, before I press this button, I need to just

00:11:13   explain something. I have two buttons, score left and score right. The problem is it is

00:11:23   reversed from my vision. So I have a note in front of me that says left equals team

00:11:29   in front, right equals team far away. Let's see if I get that right.

00:11:35   (audience cheers)

00:11:38   - Alright, Jason, this is going great.

00:11:46   - Yep, yep, the old technology working flawlessly.

00:11:48   I'm sure it's not gonna have any trouble later at all.

00:11:51   - Somewhere, somewhere, I don't know,

00:11:54   I don't know where he is, but there are some

00:11:56   former Apple executives who are really sad.

00:11:58   (audience laughs)

00:12:00   Gil Amelio, anybody?

00:12:01   He's just, I gotta boo?

00:12:04   - Someone boo Gilla Milla or boo me.

00:12:06   - All right, flowion_davidsmith,

00:12:10   take the microphones and come up to the buzzers.

00:12:13   - Oh boy.

00:12:14   - Technically they're bells, they're bells, they're bells.

00:12:16   - Okay, okay, okay.

00:12:17   - Okay, hands over bells, get ready to answer

00:12:21   when you're sure you've got a good answer.

00:12:23   To this very technology-focused question,

00:12:25   name a kind of pen.

00:12:29   (bell dings)

00:12:32   David.

00:12:33   - Ballpoint.

00:12:34   (audience laughing and applauding)

00:12:38   - Show me ballpoint.

00:12:44   David, would you like to pass or play?

00:12:50   (audience shouting)

00:12:53   - I think we're gonna play.

00:12:54   - I think you're gonna play.

00:12:55   - Jason.

00:12:57   - Oh, did she get the answer?

00:12:59   - It wasn't a top answer.

00:13:00   - It's the number one answer.

00:13:01   - It was the number two answer.

00:13:02   - Oh my God, I've ruined everything.

00:13:03   We would like to pause for a moment to remind everybody of the rules.

00:13:06   Not a technology failure though, it's just a human failure.

00:13:09   I'm told the human element is what makes sports great. Flo,

00:13:13   can you name a pen?

00:13:14   Can I name a pen?

00:13:15   Name a kind of pen.

00:13:16   Uh, crap.

00:13:19   Uh,

00:13:25   this is a lot of pressure. Uh, calligraphy pen.

00:13:32   [laughter]

00:13:34   Show me calligraphy pen.

00:13:36   [buzzer]

00:13:37   You know what? It's alright, it's alright. I had to get that one. It's okay.

00:13:41   So we wasn't sure, right? 'Cause now I have an X.

00:13:44   Now it's... so they can't...

00:13:45   You can click the X again.

00:13:47   [buzzer]

00:13:48   See?

00:13:49   Good.

00:13:50   [laughter]

00:13:52   I know where it works now.

00:13:54   This is the software thing.

00:13:55   Yes, we're going to play.

00:13:56   You're gonna play, I know, I know.

00:13:58   Does it go to Brad or does it...

00:13:59   It does go to Brad next.

00:14:01   (audience cheers)

00:14:03   No pressure, Brad.

00:14:04   Now, Brad, I just wanna point out

00:14:06   how embarrassing this will be if you get this wrong.

00:14:08   (audience laughs)

00:14:09   Brad, Brad, Brad, is your co-host here?

00:14:12   - Yeah, so it's very-- - Just don't forget,

00:14:13   it's multiple thousands of people.

00:14:16   Who wants, just wanted to remind you.

00:14:17   - Okay. - All right.

00:14:18   - It was very important that David went first

00:14:21   in this category, because I would've butchered that,

00:14:24   but now I know where to go, so we'll go with fountain pen.

00:14:28   - That's what I meant to say.

00:14:29   - All right. - I'm so sorry.

00:14:31   (audience applauding)

00:14:32   Myke Hurley of the Pan-Attic Podcast, show me fountain pen.

00:14:36   (bell dings)

00:14:37   (audience cheering)

00:14:38   Number one answer.

00:14:40   All right, number one and two are off the board,

00:14:44   but you've gotta get five, so there are three more to guess.

00:14:47   Julia, can you name a pen?

00:14:49   - Rollerball.

00:14:51   - Rollerball.

00:14:54   Myke, show me rollerball.

00:14:58   (buzzer buzzes)

00:14:59   (audience groans)

00:15:02   - Oh, all right, Micah, to you.

00:15:05   - Oh wait, I still have to go?

00:15:06   - Still looking for 345, yes, you still have to go.

00:15:09   No sleep in here, we've got three more pens.

00:15:12   - Please, show me gel pen.

00:15:16   - Oh. - All right.

00:15:18   Did the real AFM listeners love a gel pen like I do, Myke?

00:15:22   (buzzer buzzes)

00:15:23   (audience groans)

00:15:26   - I know, I know.

00:15:27   - It was going so well.

00:15:28   Underscore, you got two strikes now.

00:15:30   So I just want to point out, David,

00:15:32   if you don't get this right,

00:15:33   Brad doesn't get to answer any more pen questions

00:15:35   in this show.

00:15:36   (audience laughing)

00:15:37   - I am aware of this.

00:15:39   That is how the rules work.

00:15:40   Can you show me Sharpie?

00:15:47   (audience gasping)

00:15:50   (audience laughing)

00:15:51   - Here, I got one, right here.

00:15:53   But is it on the board?

00:15:57   - Oh no!

00:15:58   - Guys, we need one, we need one.

00:16:00   - Jason, please explain what happens now.

00:16:03   - Okay, now the Chargers get to confer

00:16:05   and they're already doing it, they're conferring.

00:16:08   They get to talk, this is the one time

00:16:09   where the whole team gets to talk.

00:16:10   You remember the show, everybody's like huddled up.

00:16:12   And then they get to give me one answer

00:16:16   and if that answer is up there,

00:16:17   they get the points for this whole round.

00:16:19   And they've got three that they could possibly guess.

00:16:22   What are you thinking over there, Team Chargers?

00:16:26   Space pen.

00:16:27   Space pen.

00:16:29   Stephen Hackett approves of the space pen.

00:16:33   There's one right in front of me.

00:16:35   Yeah.

00:16:35   Myke, show me space pen.

00:16:38   [ding]

00:16:39   [cheering]

00:16:41   [applause]

00:16:47   That's 74 points to the Far Away team.

00:16:50   Let's see what happens.

00:16:52   Phew.

00:16:53   [cheering]

00:16:55   All right, now we need to reveal what didn't get guessed.

00:16:59   These are excellent answers,

00:17:01   and thank you to everybody who sent them in.

00:17:03   (audience laughing)

00:17:06   Any guesses, Brad?

00:17:08   - Pilot?

00:17:09   - Sailor, or Retro 51.

00:17:12   - Brad, Brad, 4,000 people.

00:17:15   - 3,000.

00:17:17   - Oh yeah, my round up.

00:17:19   - Myke, show me the number three answer so people can cry.

00:17:22   - Oh!

00:17:22   - A Bic pen.

00:17:25   - How is it?

00:17:26   - A Bic pen.

00:17:28   - Is number five Bic for her?

00:17:29   - I would like to point out.

00:17:31   (audience laughing)

00:17:33   Real pen, real pen that exists.

00:17:35   I believe not represented on stage tonight.

00:17:40   There's a relay podcast called Thoroughly Considered.

00:17:42   - There is.

00:17:43   - And they have a pen, don't they?

00:17:44   - They emotionally do.

00:17:46   - The Mark One.

00:17:48   - Mark One.

00:17:48   - Wow, that's pretty fun.

00:17:50   - Some love for Studio Meat.

00:17:51   - Good job, listeners.

00:17:52   (audience applauding)

00:17:54   All right, we move on to the next category.

00:17:57   The software's working, it's a miracle, okay.

00:18:01   David Sparks, Brad Dowdy, come.

00:18:07   (audience cheers)

00:18:09   To the stage.

00:18:11   Get ready to buzz in when you are certain

00:18:15   you've got a good answer to this question.

00:18:18   Name something you'd expect to see

00:18:20   on stage at an Apple keynote.

00:18:23   (bell dings)

00:18:25   - Brad.

00:18:26   - iPad.

00:18:27   - Myke, show me an iPad.

00:18:31   (buzzer buzzes)

00:18:32   (audience gasps)

00:18:33   - Now it's on me.

00:18:34   - I'm sorry, Brad.

00:18:35   - Wow.

00:18:36   - Sparky.

00:18:37   - I'm sorry, I'm really sorry.

00:18:38   - New iPhone.

00:18:39   - Show me an iPhone.

00:18:41   (bell dings)

00:18:45   Number two answer.

00:18:46   - You guys wanna play?

00:18:47   - There are five you have to get.

00:18:48   You're gonna pass or play?

00:18:49   - We're gonna play.

00:18:50   - You should always play.

00:18:51   - We're playing.

00:18:52   It's in the rules, but you should always play.

00:18:56   Quinn?

00:18:58   - Hello.

00:19:01   - Other than an iPhone, name something you'd expect to see

00:19:03   on stage at an Apple keynote.

00:19:05   - Tim Cook.

00:19:07   [laughter]

00:19:10   - All right.

00:19:11   I will explain that over the many iterations of this game

00:19:14   on the "Incomparable Game Show" podcast,

00:19:16   we have realized that when a question says some thing,

00:19:21   Thing is very liberally interpreted.

00:19:23   (audience laughing)

00:19:24   So let's see, Myke, is Tim Cook on stage?

00:19:27   (bell dings)

00:19:29   Yeah. (audience cheering)

00:19:32   Number three answer.

00:19:33   16, number three answer, all right.

00:19:36   Moving on to Alex.

00:19:38   Number one, four, and five are still to play for.

00:19:42   Something you would see on stage at an Apple keynote.

00:19:44   - New watch bands.

00:19:48   - All right.

00:19:50   New watch bands, did they get dropped on stage?

00:19:52   Are they just like on the ground?

00:19:55   Myke, show me new watch bands.

00:19:57   (buzzer)

00:19:59   It's okay, it's the first strike, you got time.

00:20:01   There's many more products.

00:20:02   Flo, you love Apple Keynotes.

00:20:04   Now, although you co-host an Android-themed podcast,

00:20:09   you also worked at MacAddict and MacLife.

00:20:11   - That was so Mac in the day, but yes.

00:20:14   - We had Steve Jobs answered earlier,

00:20:16   you never know what could happen.

00:20:18   Something you'd see on the stage of an Apple keynote.

00:20:22   A screen.

00:20:27   For the PowerPoint! I'm sorry, whatever it's called on Apple

00:20:30   keynote.

00:20:32   Show me a screen, Myke.

00:20:36   So sorry.

00:20:39   It's okay. Back around to Sparky. Sparky, imagine yourself visualize Apple keynote.

00:20:44   What do you see there? A new operating system.

00:20:47   new operating system.

00:20:49   - If you miss this, Mac power users is in trouble.

00:20:52   - Myke, are they in trouble?

00:20:55   - Yes.

00:20:56   (buzzer)

00:20:56   (audience groans)

00:21:00   - All right, state bikini, huddle up,

00:21:02   they're huddling up, they're very careful,

00:21:04   this is great, like, there's,

00:21:06   - The huddle is very intense.

00:21:08   - The microphone is away from the floor now.

00:21:10   They are serious, yeah, they are drawing up a play

00:21:13   on the ground.

00:21:14   - They're watching videos, keynotes.

00:21:17   Inspirational. - They're taking making shots.

00:21:19   - Pump up videos of like, you can do it, beat the ball.

00:21:21   - Myke's face is very intense, I have a good view of that.

00:21:24   (audience laughing)

00:21:27   I think we're gonna have to rush 'em, Jason.

00:21:30   This is a podcast.

00:21:32   It's true, we can't hear them.

00:21:33   - And we can't hear them, that's the problem.

00:21:34   - It's just me and you now.

00:21:35   From Relay FM, this is Upgrade. - Also Steven is here.

00:21:38   Hi Steven.

00:21:39   - Hello.

00:21:40   - All right. - All right.

00:21:41   - State bikini, I need an answer.

00:21:43   - Okay.

00:21:43   - Something you'd expect to see at an Apple keynote to steal.

00:21:47   One more thing.

00:21:48   (audience oohs)

00:21:51   - Show me one more thing.

00:21:52   (buzzer buzzes)

00:21:53   (audience oohs)

00:21:56   Team Faraway gets those points.

00:21:59   Okay, here we go.

00:22:02   Ready?

00:22:03   (audience cheers)

00:22:06   How do they take the lead, 118 to 100.

00:22:08   Any other guesses out there that we didn't--

00:22:12   (audience shouts)

00:22:15   Oh, I heard somebody say an AR demo, Myke.

00:22:19   (bell dings)

00:22:20   Yeah, that's another answer.

00:22:20   (audience applauds)

00:22:24   - I am very proud of our listeners for the answer.

00:22:27   - Thank you to the upgradeians especially.

00:22:29   - They're always there, nobody wants them.

00:22:31   - Any other?

00:22:32   Any other?

00:22:33   Alex said a game demo.

00:22:38   (bell dings)

00:22:39   (audience gasps)

00:22:42   Now, this last one is just sad, I'm glad it's there.

00:22:46   (bell dings)

00:22:48   (audience laughs)

00:22:49   A Mac, a Mac.

00:22:51   A Mac, I mean literally they have them.

00:22:53   - There's always one there, there is, yeah.

00:22:55   - Yeah, all right.

00:22:56   - Everyone loves a Mac, right?

00:22:57   - I do wanna point out that Federico's iPad, not up there.

00:23:00   My Mac is.

00:23:02   - No?

00:23:03   All right, it is time for round four.

00:23:06   This game is so close now.

00:23:08   Quinn, Julia, come on up.

00:23:10   - We should give an update.

00:23:10   (audience cheering)

00:23:12   For the listeners at home,

00:23:15   we have Team Steak Bikini have 100 points.

00:23:19   Andy, was it positive charges?

00:23:20   Did we decide on that name?

00:23:22   - Yes.

00:23:23   - Yeah, okay, positive charges.

00:23:24   - 118 points.

00:23:25   - Very happy San Diegans.

00:23:26   - Very close.

00:23:27   And we have two more rounds here,

00:23:28   so everything to play for.

00:23:30   Hands over buzzers, get ready.

00:23:33   - Wait, I'm right-handed.

00:23:34   - Okay.

00:23:35   - Okay.

00:23:36   - This buzzer's been doing really well here.

00:23:38   - Bell.

00:23:39   - Can you name an app developer?

00:23:41   Quinn.

00:23:42   - James Thompson.

00:23:43   - He's gonna be so excited that he just got dinged off

00:23:48   on stage.

00:23:49   Glasgow's own James Thompson.

00:23:54   Myke?

00:23:54   (bell dings)

00:23:56   (audience cheers)

00:23:59   That's the number three answer, you can do better.

00:24:02   Can you name an app developer?

00:24:04   - Casey Liss.

00:24:05   (audience cheers)

00:24:08   (audience cheering)

00:24:11   - Casey, kind enough to actually be here.

00:24:14   - Yeah.

00:24:15   - Oh boy, can you imagine how that buzzer is gonna feel?

00:24:21   (audience laughing)

00:24:22   For Casey?

00:24:23   - Casey.

00:24:25   - Myke, you hold Casey's ego in your hands.

00:24:28   (audience laughing)

00:24:30   - Myke doesn't have hands big enough.

00:24:32   (audience groaning)

00:24:35   I don't know. Is that more insulting to?

00:24:38   [audience laughs]

00:24:39   We'll work it out later.

00:24:41   [ding]

00:24:43   [audience cheers]

00:24:46   Number four answers.

00:24:47   I regret to abuse the software, but I was very tempted.

00:24:50   So the positive chargers get control.

00:24:52   We would like to play.

00:24:53   Alright, get on over there.

00:24:55   [audience applauds]

00:24:56   Do we need to sit down?

00:24:57   [audience applauds]

00:24:58   Oh, that was really exciting.

00:25:00   Casey's the real winner of this round.

00:25:02   Casey loves all 6% of you.

00:25:05   who said him.

00:25:06   (audience laughing)

00:25:09   I love that you got Casey,

00:25:11   shameless pandering to Casey, but great.

00:25:14   - It works.

00:25:14   - It works.

00:25:15   Alex Cox, name an app developer.

00:25:18   There are number one, two, and five of our surveys

00:25:22   still on the board, so three more app developers to get.

00:25:24   - Marco Arment.

00:25:26   (audience cheering)

00:25:29   - Who?

00:25:30   - Bit obscure, obscure.

00:25:33   Now Casey could really feel bad, or good.

00:25:35   [LAUGHTER]

00:25:38   Show me Marco Arment.

00:25:40   [DING]

00:25:41   [CHEERING]

00:25:43   Oh, it's the number one answer.

00:25:47   I just want to say, I can see Underscore's face,

00:25:50   and a single tear is welling up in one eye.

00:25:52   [LAUGHTER]

00:25:53   Spoilers, spoilers.

00:25:56   All right, Flo, can you name an app developer?

00:26:00   So is this like, what platform is this?

00:26:03   - There is no...

00:26:05   - It's a good question.

00:26:06   - I'm gonna go with what I know.

00:26:09   - I believe the question I asked was name an app developer.

00:26:12   - All right, listen, I'm just gonna go for it.

00:26:14   John Carmack?

00:26:15   - All right, John Carmack.

00:26:17   Could be, Myke?

00:26:19   (buzzer)

00:26:20   It's not.

00:26:20   Good guess, he's a perfectly legitimate app developer,

00:26:24   but not with this crowd, not with this crowd.

00:26:28   David Sparks, two more to guess.

00:26:30   I want to use our enemy in our favor.

00:26:33   Underscore.

00:26:34   - Choosing somebody on the other team is a bold maneuver.

00:26:38   - But good answer.

00:26:39   - Will it backfire?

00:26:40   Myke.

00:26:41   (bell dings)

00:26:43   (audience applauds)

00:26:46   Number two answer.

00:26:47   Number two answer.

00:26:50   Only the lowest rated answer, below Casey Liss even,

00:26:55   is left on the board.

00:26:59   Quinn?

00:27:00   They have one strike, Myke, is that right?

00:27:03   - They have one strike, Jason.

00:27:04   - All right, Quinn, can you name an app developer?

00:27:07   (audience laughing)

00:27:10   - Quinn looks terrified.

00:27:15   - I've already named everyone I know.

00:27:18   Supertop.

00:27:19   - Supertop, Myke?

00:27:21   Show me. (buzzer buzzing)

00:27:23   - I'm sorry, Jason, I showed you the whole thing.

00:27:24   - I didn't mean to say the whole thing.

00:27:25   - I apologize.

00:27:26   - Just rejected.

00:27:27   - Very excited.

00:27:28   - Rejected.

00:27:29   - Alex, you have two strikes.

00:27:30   You're gonna give them a chance to steal

00:27:32   if you can't get number five.

00:27:34   - No pressure.

00:27:34   - Name an app developer.

00:27:37   Alex is lost in thought.

00:27:42   - Lickability.

00:27:44   - Lickability.

00:27:47   - I don't know.

00:27:48   (buzzer)

00:27:49   - All right.

00:27:50   - That was the third strike, Jason.

00:27:51   - Oh, state bikinis, they're already huddling up.

00:27:53   They're already huddling up.

00:27:54   - They love a good huddler's team.

00:27:56   - Yeah, they are good.

00:27:56   - They should have been called Team Huddle.

00:27:57   - So Micah, for those who are not watching

00:28:00   because there are only 300 people here

00:28:01   and everyone else is listening on a podcast,

00:28:03   Micah looks great, he's got a suit, he's got a tie,

00:28:05   and he's like a basketball coach, like, charting a play.

00:28:09   Like, we're gonna inbound it to Brad,

00:28:11   and then Underscore's gonna set a screen,

00:28:14   Julie's gonna take the shot.

00:28:15   - What I like the most is you are making jokes about Micah.

00:28:17   He has no idea.

00:28:18   I have never seen somebody more focused

00:28:21   (audience laughing)

00:28:22   than he is right now. - This is serious.

00:28:23   This is serious.

00:28:24   - This is very important.

00:28:26   Micah? - This is deadly serious.

00:28:27   Please give us the answer for your team, Micah.

00:28:30   Come on.

00:28:30   (audience laughing)

00:28:31   - We're the captain, do it.

00:28:32   - Oh, God.

00:28:33   (audience laughing)

00:28:34   - All right.

00:28:35   I'm thinking about all of you,

00:28:37   and I'm thinking about those of you

00:28:38   who love the Material Podcast,

00:28:41   and who love Pocket Casts,

00:28:43   and so I have to go with Russell Ivanovich.

00:28:46   - I feel like a jerk.

00:28:47   - Trust me.

00:28:48   (audience laughing)

00:28:51   - Former relay FM host, show me Russell.

00:28:54   (buzzer buzzing)

00:28:55   (audience groaning)

00:28:57   - Getting far away gets those points.

00:29:00   (audience applauds)

00:29:03   It's gonna be tough, it's gonna be tough,

00:29:08   but you still have a chance maybe.

00:29:10   We're gonna do another question regardless.

00:29:11   - Is it exactly possible?

00:29:13   - It's, eh, eh, eh.

00:29:14   - Possibly, we'll find out.

00:29:15   - We'll find out, but first, I have to be honest,

00:29:19   this is my favorite listener answer

00:29:22   of maybe this whole survey.

00:29:24   (buzzer dings)

00:29:25   (audience laughs)

00:29:26   - Panic.

00:29:27   (audience applauds)

00:29:29   - It's a really good answer.

00:29:30   - So it's four human beings and a company,

00:29:32   and that's what threw a lot of people.

00:29:34   - That is interesting.

00:29:34   I like the way that that rolled out.

00:29:36   - All right, we're gonna, one last question to round it out.

00:29:40   Alex, Micah, team captains, please return.

00:29:42   (audience applauds)

00:29:45   - Now we're putting our hands near the bells,

00:29:49   which we didn't do last time.

00:29:50   - We meet again.

00:29:51   - Jason, can I give a score update

00:29:53   before the beginning of this round?

00:29:54   Please, Myke.

00:29:55   And now with the score update, here's Myke Hurley.

00:29:57   - Hello.

00:29:58   Steak bikini, you have 100 points.

00:30:01   Team positive charges, you have 215 points.

00:30:06   - Oh, wait, I'm left-handed. - That's a lot of points.

00:30:08   (audience laughs)

00:30:10   - Alex, Micah, name an app that you would find

00:30:13   in the utilities folder.

00:30:15   (bell dings)

00:30:16   Micah? - Peacock.

00:30:17   (audience laughs)

00:30:19   - Oh, it's a utility.

00:30:21   (audience laughs)

00:30:24   - Micah, you should have put those kinds of apps

00:30:27   in the utilities folder, Micah, that's a bad idea.

00:30:30   - Now, now you know, it is a listener survey.

00:30:34   They could have made the same mistake you did.

00:30:36   - They could have made the same mistake that I did,

00:30:37   that's true. - Myke, did they?

00:30:39   (buzzer buzzes)

00:30:42   Alex, name an app you'd find in the utilities folder.

00:30:45   - Terminal.

00:30:47   - Myke, is terminal there?

00:30:48   (bell dings)

00:30:49   (audience cheers)

00:30:52   All right, Positive Chargers.

00:30:54   I assume you're gonna play?

00:30:55   - We will play.

00:30:56   - All right.

00:30:57   Flo, think back.

00:30:59   (audience laughing)

00:31:01   Think back to Mac life.

00:31:03   Think back to your Mac.

00:31:04   - That was so long ago.

00:31:06   I was still in college.

00:31:06   - They're still using OS X.

00:31:08   Or Mac OS, it's called now, but it's still OS X.

00:31:11   - Okay, okay.

00:31:12   - What do you think?

00:31:13   - Okay.

00:31:14   - In the utilities folder.

00:31:15   - Time machine.

00:31:16   - Okay.

00:31:19   - Thank you.

00:31:19   - Show me time machine.

00:31:21   (buzzer)

00:31:23   - I'm sorry Flo, that was a good answer.

00:31:25   - That was your first strike.

00:31:27   - It is in the applications folder I think,

00:31:29   but again, facts don't matter here.

00:31:31   (audience laughing)

00:31:34   - That was an accident, the software operated by me.

00:31:38   It was the software that did it though, not me.

00:31:40   - That was your first strike, Sparky.

00:31:41   Sparky, MacPower users pride here.

00:31:43   - The old friend, the activity monitor.

00:31:45   - Oh, activity monitor.

00:31:50   Number three answer, well done, well done.

00:31:52   You're leaving some more up there.

00:31:53   Quinn?

00:31:54   - Hello, this is a name and app you'll find where?

00:31:57   - In the utilities folder.

00:31:59   - In the utilities folder.

00:32:00   - Okay.

00:32:01   - It's inside the application folder.

00:32:03   - That's nice. - It's true.

00:32:04   (audience laughing)

00:32:06   Nobody goes there.

00:32:07   - Not me.

00:32:09   The...

00:32:15   (audience laughing)

00:32:19   - Ahh.

00:32:20   - You're going to win, don't worry about it.

00:32:24   (audience laughing)

00:32:27   - You can say anything.

00:32:30   - Notes.

00:32:31   - Show me notes.

00:32:33   (buzzer buzzing)

00:32:35   Actually two strikes this time.

00:32:36   Alex, name a utilities folder.

00:32:39   Resident.

00:32:41   - Disk utility.

00:32:46   (audience cheering)

00:32:49   - It's right in the name, right?

00:32:50   Disk utility, Myke, show me disk utility.

00:32:52   (bell dings)

00:32:53   (audience cheers)

00:32:54   Number one answer.

00:32:56   - That's the most applause disk utility will ever get.

00:32:59   (audience laughs)

00:33:01   - We're letting a lot of unloved apps,

00:33:03   that's why I love this question,

00:33:04   'cause there's a lot of stuff that nobody ever opens

00:33:06   in the utilities folder.

00:33:07   - It's true.

00:33:08   - All right, Flo, it's time for a utility.

00:33:11   (audience laughs)

00:33:12   - Um.

00:33:13   Um.

00:33:19   - Oh, it's already up there.

00:33:22   Clock.

00:33:22   (audience laughing)

00:33:25   - Myke, show me clock.

00:33:29   (buzzer buzzing)

00:33:31   - I'm sorry.

00:33:32   - All right, steak bikini.

00:33:34   You can huddle up.

00:33:37   - Oh, Mykey, you can huddle up.

00:33:38   - You gonna huddle up, Micah?

00:33:41   Micah's heart isn't in it anymore.

00:33:43   - I should've studied.

00:33:45   - Micah still reeling from P. Cal.

00:33:48   - Do you wanna go with graphing calculator?

00:33:51   (audience applauds)

00:33:54   - Yeah, okay.

00:33:58   (bell dings)

00:34:01   We're gonna give you grapher.

00:34:02   (audience applauds)

00:34:04   So you get those points.

00:34:05   - Wait, so this is close? - In front of you.

00:34:08   - I was gonna press the wrong button.

00:34:10   (audience cheers)

00:34:11   - All right, I did it.

00:34:12   - Not quite enough to win.

00:34:14   By the way, Micah, you're so close.

00:34:17   (bell dings)

00:34:20   - Calculator.

00:34:22   - And also there was an app

00:34:24   that isn't actually on the Mac at all.

00:34:25   - I don't understand this one.

00:34:26   (bell dings)

00:34:27   Settings.

00:34:28   (audience laughs)

00:34:29   You know, the Settings app in the Utilities folder.

00:34:32   Everyone's favorite app in the folder.

00:34:33   - Everybody knows.

00:34:34   That's where you find the Settings app.

00:34:35   - That's definitely on Android.

00:34:37   - Yeah.

00:34:38   Team Positive Chargers, congratulations.

00:34:41   You have 215 points.

00:34:42   We will see you again.

00:34:43   (audience applauds)

00:34:44   - We did it, guys.

00:34:45   We did it.

00:34:46   - And Stacey Pini, thank you so much

00:34:47   Thank you so much for playing the relay.

00:34:49   (applause)

00:34:51   Can we go?

00:34:54   - Please leave the stage.

00:34:56   (laughter)

00:34:58   There are hugs now.

00:34:59   Myke is really upset.

00:35:01   - Myke can--

00:35:02   - James Thompson will be happy though.

00:35:03   He got two mentions, so James is the real winner now.

00:35:07   - My guest pressed the button for a new game.

00:35:09   - We are now resetting the game.

00:35:10   I'm scared of this button.

00:35:12   (cheering)

00:35:15   I had no idea the software was going to be--

00:35:18   It is a miracle that the software exists.

00:35:20   I am now importing from CSV.

00:35:22   Yep.

00:35:22   (audience laughing)

00:35:23   Round two.

00:35:25   All right. Back to play mode.

00:35:27   Let me introduce our teams for round two.

00:35:30   Here are Aline Sims, Casey Liss,

00:35:34   Merlin Mann, and Sheldon Risbon.

00:35:37   (audience cheering)

00:35:40   (audience applauding)

00:35:43   Now, Aline, what's the name of your team?

00:35:54   - Well, we are, of course, the C Team.

00:35:59   (audience laughing)

00:36:02   - We may come back to that.

00:36:03   Let me introduce what we have lovingly called Team D.

00:36:07   It's Rosemary Orchard, Matt Alexander, Myke Schmitz,

00:36:10   and not a relay FM host, but we love him, it's Sean Blanc.

00:36:13   (audience cheers)

00:36:16   Now, Rose, do you have your team name?

00:36:24   Are you the D team?

00:36:26   - No, we are not.

00:36:27   We are the motivating, youthful, kind, and enchanting team,

00:36:32   but you can call us the mic team.

00:36:34   (audience laughs)

00:36:39   - That's my favorite team, favorite team.

00:36:41   - That's pandering.

00:36:42   - I might just get the scoring wrong.

00:36:45   (audience laughing)

00:36:47   - That was not a concern at all.

00:36:49   - With that C team, I am officially renaming you

00:36:51   should triumph every possible Hurley event now, or Steven.

00:36:54   (audience laughing)

00:36:57   - This isn't how the Founders Trophy gets decided,

00:37:02   but I like it anyway.

00:37:04   - All right, Aline, Rose, please come up to the buzzers,

00:37:08   which are our bells.

00:37:09   (audience applauding)

00:37:12   Hands over buzzers, get ready.

00:37:15   - Oh gosh.

00:37:16   - Name a place you would see

00:37:19   an Apple product introduction.

00:37:21   Rose.

00:37:22   - China.

00:37:23   (audience laughing)

00:37:26   - There are more people there than anywhere else.

00:37:28   Myke, show me China.

00:37:29   (buzzer buzzing)

00:37:32   - Aw.

00:37:32   - Aline, name a place you'd see

00:37:35   an Apple product introduction.

00:37:36   - Steve Jobs Theater.

00:37:38   Show me the Steve Jobs theater.

00:37:41   [ding]

00:37:42   [cheers]

00:37:43   [applause]

00:37:48   They're gonna play, alright. Thank you both.

00:37:50   Aline is a great captain. I think you actually asked, "Shall we pass or play?" I like that.

00:37:54   I don't think Micah did that. I guess he always assumed they were playing.

00:37:58   Although like game theorists say, you should always play, but you know.

00:38:01   I don't know why you would pass.

00:38:03   Why would you do that? If it's really hard, maybe?

00:38:05   - Really hard, maybe?

00:38:06   - 'Cause if you're so convinced

00:38:06   that they're not gonna get it,

00:38:08   then you would wanna get as many points as possible,

00:38:09   throw it to them, they won't get it,

00:38:11   and then you get the points, right?

00:38:12   - Oh, well maybe you should pass.

00:38:13   I don't know, we'll find out.

00:38:16   - If you think they're good but not good enough,

00:38:18   then you would pass.

00:38:19   All right, Casey Liss, answer to previous question.

00:38:22   Name a place you'd see an Apple product introduction

00:38:24   that is not Steve Jobs Theater.

00:38:27   - So this is either going to be brilliant

00:38:29   or a hilariously bad mistake.

00:38:32   I'm going to go with WWDC.

00:38:34   [laughter]

00:38:36   That's a good answer! Good answer!

00:38:39   Good answer. Good answer.

00:38:41   Yeah, I mean, sure.

00:38:43   Myke?

00:38:44   I'm gonna make him wait.

00:38:46   Why do you do this to me?

00:38:48   You gotta be brought down a little bit.

00:38:50   What's a place?

00:38:51   WWDC is totally a place. A place I go. A place I can see an introduction.

00:38:54   Be kind.

00:38:56   Yeah.

00:38:58   Number two answer.

00:39:00   17%.

00:39:02   You're killing it here, Team Steven.

00:39:06   (audience laughing)

00:39:08   Shelly, name a place you'd see an Apple product introduction.

00:39:11   The top five answers are on the board,

00:39:12   so you have three more to get.

00:39:14   - And I only have to give one.

00:39:15   As we say in Texas, New York City.

00:39:18   (audience laughing)

00:39:20   - New York City, Myke.

00:39:23   (buzzer buzzing)

00:39:24   - Aw.

00:39:25   - It's a good guess.

00:39:27   They just did one there.

00:39:28   Merlin Mann.

00:39:32   - Hi, Jason. - Hey, how's it going?

00:39:33   - Not great.

00:39:34   (audience laughing)

00:39:38   - I think you're gonna do great at this one.

00:39:39   - Thank you.

00:39:40   - Name a place you'd see an Apple product introduction.

00:39:42   - Mac World Boston.

00:39:43   (audience laughing and applauding)

00:39:48   - I am so proud of my team.

00:39:52   Myke?

00:39:56   (buzzer)

00:40:01   Aline, it's back around to you.

00:40:03   You gave the number one answer.

00:40:04   You still have three more answers.

00:40:07   Oh my God.

00:40:08   All right.

00:40:09   No problem.

00:40:10   You're gonna run the board here.

00:40:12   Someplace you'd see an Apple product introduction.

00:40:14   - You have two strikes.

00:40:15   - No pressure.

00:40:16   I'm gonna go less, slightly less old school

00:40:20   and just say Moscone.

00:40:22   - Oh, good answer.

00:40:24   Good answer.

00:40:25   - Old school Moscone Center.

00:40:27   Many good memories there, Myke.

00:40:29   (bell dings)

00:40:29   (audience cheers)

00:40:32   - Number three answer.

00:40:34   - I go from crushing,

00:40:36   I go from extreme excitement to crushing doubt in myself.

00:40:39   Okay, so no pressure on me.

00:40:41   I'm going to go,

00:40:43   I'm gonna regurgitate my same answer in a different way.

00:40:45   I'm gonna say McHenry Convention Center.

00:40:48   - Ah, McHenry Convention Center in San Jose.

00:40:51   So there's the question.

00:40:52   - Good answer, good answer.

00:40:53   - Name a place you've seen-- - Does anyone really know

00:40:54   that name?

00:40:55   (audience laughs)

00:40:56   - Apparently not, I'm about to find out.

00:40:58   (buzzer)

00:41:00   - They don't.

00:41:03   - No, you, it was three.

00:41:05   No, you gotta give that one to 'em.

00:41:07   - Really?

00:41:08   - You gotta give that one to 'em.

00:41:09   - Oh, swooning in to save the day.

00:41:11   - Sorry, I was making eye contact,

00:41:12   but you were too busy throwing Casey under the bus there.

00:41:15   - That's right.

00:41:17   - Rewind.

00:41:17   (bell dings)

00:41:19   We'll give it to you.

00:41:20   - Yes!

00:41:21   - San Jose.

00:41:22   - You are way kinder than I am.

00:41:24   - All right, next time I'll say,

00:41:26   well, why that's in San Jose.

00:41:27   What do you think about San Jose Myke Hurley?

00:41:29   - I would like that.

00:41:31   - There's one more to get, Shelley.

00:41:33   We have heard Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park,

00:41:36   WWDC, Moscone Center, and San Jose.

00:41:39   - We didn't hear San Jose, he didn't say that.

00:41:40   (audience laughing)

00:41:43   You said that.

00:41:44   - I feel I should go with what has proved

00:41:46   to be a losing strategy for me so far,

00:41:48   and I don't know any convention centers in this place,

00:41:51   so somebody like to Google for me.

00:41:52   I'm just gonna say Chicago, Illinois.

00:41:56   - Good, it's good.

00:41:57   - What was that?

00:41:58   - Chicago at an iron.

00:41:59   - Chicago, all right, show me Chicago.

00:42:02   All right, wow, this is really down to it.

00:42:05   So there's Team Myke, you should huddle up

00:42:08   and you can confer on this one, Micah Sargent style.

00:42:11   - Sean Blanc has gone for the Micah style, as we'll call it.

00:42:15   - They're leaning in. - Nice pick there, Jason.

00:42:16   - One place to see an Apple product introduction

00:42:18   we have gotten and missed on Chicago and New York.

00:42:22   - Thanks, Jason. - And Boston.

00:42:23   - I knew that. - And Macworld Boston.

00:42:25   - Yep.

00:42:26   - But we got Apple Park.

00:42:27   - That was a strong answer.

00:42:29   - WWDC, Moscone, San Jose.

00:42:32   I could probably say the answer right now

00:42:34   and they wouldn't hear me.

00:42:35   Alright.

00:42:36   (audience laughing)

00:42:39   Okay, Team Myke, what's your answer for the steal?

00:42:43   - Wow, what a moment.

00:42:44   We have so many good ideas, it was hard to pick.

00:42:50   Town Hall?

00:42:53   - Town Hall, yeah.

00:42:54   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:55   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:56   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:56   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:57   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:58   - That's where that icon was.

00:42:59   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:00   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:01   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:01   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:02   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:03   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:04   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:05   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:06   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:06   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:07   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:08   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:09   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:10   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:11   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:11   - That's where that icon was.

00:43:12   - Of course. - Take that, Myke.

00:43:13   Now, before we go on, I wanna say again

00:43:16   that I love our listeners.

00:43:18   I thought this was a very gettable answer,

00:43:20   but nobody thought of it,

00:43:21   because where is a place you would see

00:43:23   an Apple product introduction

00:43:24   if you're not a privileged journalist or podcaster?

00:43:27   At home, or on the internet.

00:43:32   - How's your media process now, huh?

00:43:35   - Oh well.

00:43:38   All right, moving on.

00:43:41   Casey Liss, Matt Alexander,

00:43:42   you've already gotten yourself up here.

00:43:43   It's very, I like the initiative.

00:43:45   Good job, you know how this works.

00:43:46   All right.

00:43:48   Hands over Bells.

00:43:49   Name, I'm looking over at Stephen Hackett,

00:43:52   name a color of iMac.

00:43:54   Matt.

00:43:57   - Blue.

00:43:58   (audience laughing)

00:44:01   - The laughter, the derisive laughter there.

00:44:08   Myke, show me blue.

00:44:10   (bell dings)

00:44:10   - That's the number one answer.

00:44:13   - Good.

00:44:15   I'm very proud of you, Matt.

00:44:18   - It's the number one answer, very well done.

00:44:20   - Nobody's ever said the word blue like that before.

00:44:21   - Blue?

00:44:22   - Blue?

00:44:23   - Blue?

00:44:25   - Myke Schmitz, you have two through five.

00:44:28   You have four answers your team needs to get.

00:44:30   - Go on, Team Myke.

00:44:32   - Team Myke, name a color of iMac.

00:44:35   - Orange/tangerine.

00:44:38   - I'm gonna say that from my own heart.

00:44:41   - Alright, show me Tangerine.

00:44:43   (bell dings)

00:44:44   Number three answer.

00:44:45   (audience applauds)

00:44:48   Very good, I feel like the listeners

00:44:49   did a great job with this question.

00:44:51   Well, so far, we'll see.

00:44:52   Sean Blanc, name a color of iMac.

00:44:55   - Space gray.

00:44:57   (audience applauds)

00:45:00   - Show me space gray.

00:45:02   (bell dings)

00:45:03   (audience applauds)

00:45:06   Number two answer, 19.

00:45:08   Rose, name a color of iMac.

00:45:10   - Indigo or purple.

00:45:11   - Indigo or purple.

00:45:14   (buzzer)

00:45:16   Strike either way, sadly.

00:45:18   Matt, it's back to you.

00:45:20   Colors of iMacs, two left.

00:45:23   - Don't start laughing before I've said anything.

00:45:24   - I wanna see how you say this color.

00:45:27   - I will have you know, I named this team after you.

00:45:29   - I know, I knew it was you.

00:45:31   - There was an elaborate plan and none of it panned out.

00:45:36   - Silver.

00:45:37   - Silver, very monochromatic, very Johnny Ive.

00:45:41   Show me.

00:45:41   - Silver a color?

00:45:43   - Calm down, Myke.

00:45:44   - Yes, it is.

00:45:45   It doesn't matter as long as they said it.

00:45:47   (audience applauding)

00:45:49   Number four answer, 7%.

00:45:52   That leaves the last answer here, team, still to be guessed.

00:45:56   Number five, Myke Schmitz, name a color of iMac.

00:46:01   - Lime or green?

00:46:03   - We're gonna get all the colors tonight.

00:46:06   Green, show me green, Myke.

00:46:08   (buzzer)

00:46:10   How many strikes was that?

00:46:13   - Two. - Two, oh good, good, good.

00:46:15   Sean, Sean, lucky you.

00:46:18   How lucky you are, you get to name a color of iMac.

00:46:21   - Trying to remember what Steven's office used to look like.

00:46:24   I'm gonna say white.

00:46:26   (audience applauds)

00:46:29   - It's that question again, is white a color technically?

00:46:33   (bell dings)

00:46:34   (audience applauds)

00:46:35   - That's the right answer.

00:46:37   - Too far away.

00:46:39   100 points.

00:46:41   - Good luck everyone.

00:46:43   Proud of you.

00:46:44   - Good job.

00:46:45   - I am so glad Flower Power was not on that board.

00:46:48   - You know, if we had gone a little deeper,

00:46:50   Flower Power was gonna come up,

00:46:51   but we love our listeners, so it didn't.

00:46:53   Myke Schmitz, Merlin Mann,

00:46:55   no, Myke Schmitz, Shelly Brisbane, come to the stage.

00:46:59   (audience applauds)

00:47:00   Merlin, you're next.

00:47:01   Sean, you're next.

00:47:03   All right.

00:47:04   (audience clapping)

00:47:05   Hands over bells.

00:47:07   This is one of my favorite things about puzzles

00:47:11   and game shows is when you frustrate the contestants

00:47:13   by not asking them the questions that other people

00:47:15   are perfectly good at answering,

00:47:17   which is why I ask both of you,

00:47:18   name a version of Android.

00:47:21   Shelley. - Lollipop.

00:47:25   - Lollipop, show me lollipop.

00:47:26   (bell dinging)

00:47:29   Number five of seven, we have seven Android versions here.

00:47:33   Seven, Myke, can you name a version of Android

00:47:36   that's better than Lollipop?

00:47:38   - Well, he probably can, whether it's fire or not.

00:47:41   - Oreo.

00:47:42   Is that a version?

00:47:44   Myke, show me Oreo.

00:47:45   (bell dings)

00:47:46   (audience applauds)

00:47:49   Well, okay.

00:47:55   Flo is not happy in the audience.

00:47:58   (audience laughs)

00:48:01   Sean, you have five more Android versions to go,

00:48:06   so get ready for something.

00:48:08   Name a version of Android.

00:48:10   - Jelly Bean.

00:48:11   - Show me Jelly Bean.

00:48:14   Right, number seven answer.

00:48:17   Very good.

00:48:18   Rosemary Orchard, name a version of Android.

00:48:21   - Ice Cream Sandwich.

00:48:23   - Ice Cream Sandwich.

00:48:24   Number three, number three, very good.

00:48:31   Matt.

00:48:32   (laughing)

00:48:34   - Every time.

00:48:36   - Name a suite beginning with the first

00:48:40   12 or so letters of the alphabet.

00:48:43   - Wow, gingerbread.

00:48:46   - Right, show me gingerbread.

00:48:50   (buzzer)

00:48:51   - It was one though.

00:48:52   - It's a good answer, it was a good answer,

00:48:54   it's just not in the top seven.

00:48:56   Myke Schmitz.

00:48:57   - Kit Kat.

00:48:59   - Kit Kat.

00:49:00   [applause]

00:49:06   Two left, number four and number six are left.

00:49:08   Marshmallow.

00:49:10   Alright, show me, marshmallow.

00:49:12   [applause]

00:49:17   We've left number six.

00:49:19   Just to confirm, this was done a couple of weeks ago.

00:49:22   This morning?

00:49:23   Not this morning.

00:49:24   Right, great. Thanks. Thanks, Google.

00:49:27   What happened this morning?

00:49:29   (audience laughing)

00:49:32   - Like what, no seriously?

00:49:33   (audience laughing)

00:49:34   - They just, they gave up.

00:49:35   - Android 10.

00:49:36   - It's Android 10. - Oh, they dropped the legs.

00:49:37   - Not with an X though, it's just like one and a zero.

00:49:39   - Oh.

00:49:40   - Yeah, it's weird.

00:49:41   - I guess they ran out of candy, huh?

00:49:44   - Yeah.

00:49:45   Well, it was gonna be Q and like, what would that be?

00:49:48   - I don't know.

00:49:48   - Some kind of salad, I don't know.

00:49:50   - Oh God.

00:49:52   - All right.

00:49:53   - Help.

00:49:54   (laughing)

00:49:54   - You don't get any help.

00:49:55   - I know, I know.

00:49:57   Um...

00:49:58   Oh gosh.

00:50:01   Can I have to rush you, Rose?

00:50:04   Mmm, yeah, I'm thinking, I'm thinking of...

00:50:06   This is a podcast.

00:50:07   Uh, uh, uh...

00:50:09   Butterbeer?

00:50:11   [laughter]

00:50:13   [applause]

00:50:15   I don't think that is not correct.

00:50:16   It could be.

00:50:17   No, it's not.

00:50:18   Sorry, Rose.

00:50:20   Hello, Matt.

00:50:22   Hey.

00:50:23   Matthew, two strikes, back to you.

00:50:24   Blue?

00:50:25   What'd he do?

00:50:26   (audience laughing)

00:50:29   - Wait, B hasn't been done, has it?

00:50:32   All right.

00:50:33   Wow.

00:50:34   What was C?

00:50:36   Wow.

00:50:39   I'm just sharing all of this with you,

00:50:40   so you can have mine.

00:50:41   (audience laughing)

00:50:43   Was, I have no idea.

00:50:46   - That's all right, though.

00:50:47   - Was name a sweet?

00:50:48   - Was cookie one?

00:50:50   - Show me cookie.

00:50:52   (buzzer buzzing)

00:50:53   That's not it.

00:50:54   - All right, huddle up, Team Steven.

00:50:57   - Casey has adopted the mic position.

00:51:01   - Six. - Somehow.

00:51:02   - The sixth place entry, which I can exclusively reveal here

00:51:06   was answered by 8% of our audience.

00:51:12   - Same as Jelly Bean.

00:51:13   - Same as Jelly Bean.

00:51:14   It's a little higher, but we rounded it, yeah.

00:51:16   All right, Team Steven, name a version

00:51:20   of Android for the steal.

00:51:24   - Nugget.

00:51:25   - Nugget.

00:51:27   - Yeah, Nugget.

00:51:28   (buzzer)

00:51:29   (audience gasps)

00:51:32   - Team Far Away.

00:51:33   - Wow.

00:51:34   - Woo!

00:51:35   - Good one, Myke.

00:51:36   (audience applauds)

00:51:38   - What the heck?

00:51:40   - Anybody?

00:51:40   - Pie.

00:51:41   - Pie.

00:51:42   - Oh, sorry.

00:51:43   - It was pie.

00:51:44   - I moved forward, it was pie.

00:51:45   - Myke's moving on.

00:51:47   - There you go.

00:51:47   - It was pie, pie was the other one.

00:51:49   - Oh, pie.

00:51:50   - All right.

00:51:51   (audience laughs)

00:51:52   - Merlin, Sean, this is a good one, you're gonna love this.

00:51:57   It's gonna be good.

00:51:59   - Can I have a minute?

00:52:00   - Yeah.

00:52:01   - I love it.

00:52:02   - What the hell's going on with this thing?

00:52:03   - There's a cable management problem.

00:52:04   - They just do that, just name it after food?

00:52:06   - Not anymore.

00:52:06   - Snacks.

00:52:07   - Oh, okay.

00:52:08   - Now they reached 10.

00:52:09   - All right.

00:52:10   - And all operating systems stop at 10.

00:52:11   (audience laughing)

00:52:12   - And there's only 10 foods.

00:52:14   - All right, hands over bells.

00:52:17   Merlin, you know all about this bell.

00:52:20   Name a failed social media network.

00:52:25   Sean?

00:52:29   - MySpace.

00:52:30   - Oh, show me MySpace.

00:52:34   Those are the failure numbers.

00:52:39   - Number one answer.

00:52:40   - Is it really a failure?

00:52:42   - Facts, facts, facts.

00:52:43   - We just asked.

00:52:44   We just asked.

00:52:47   - We just named it after candy?

00:52:48   It's true.

00:52:49   How kind of operation are they running?

00:52:56   Rosemary, name a failed social media network.

00:53:02   We have six up there.

00:53:03   One has been guessed.

00:53:04   MySpace, the number one answer with 30%.

00:53:06   Ping.

00:53:07   Ping.

00:53:08   Now, Apple would tell you that Ping wasn't a failure.

00:53:14   It was just an experiment that was sunsetted.

00:53:16   but what did the audience say?

00:53:18   (bell dings)

00:53:20   (audience cheers)

00:53:23   - Blue? - Man, Alexander.

00:53:27   Name a failed social media network.

00:53:29   - I'm glad to have a new thing haunting me now.

00:53:32   Google+.

00:53:33   (audience cheers)

00:53:37   - Google+, show me Google+.

00:53:38   (bell dings)

00:53:40   Number three.

00:53:42   All right, we're really rolling now.

00:53:44   Myke Schmitz, no pressure.

00:53:45   - App.net. - You got three out of the six.

00:53:49   - App.net. - App.net.

00:53:51   - Oh. - Oh.

00:53:51   - Too soon. - Too soon.

00:53:54   (audience laughing)

00:53:56   (bell dinging)

00:53:57   (audience applauding)

00:53:59   It's there, it's number six.

00:54:01   I didn't remember it, but everybody out there did.

00:54:04   Sean, you got two more.

00:54:06   Number four and number five.

00:54:09   - AOL Instant Messenger?

00:54:11   (audience laughing)

00:54:14   - AIM, you can follow me on AIM

00:54:16   and follow me on Google Plus later.

00:54:18   Go, Myke?

00:54:19   (buzzer)

00:54:20   Oh no.

00:54:22   Strike one, you're doing great though,

00:54:22   you've got two more chances at it.

00:54:24   - That was the sound of the death

00:54:26   of every millennial in the room.

00:54:27   Our youth is over.

00:54:28   (audience laughs)

00:54:30   - Rosemary Richard, failed social media network.

00:54:33   - It's a risky guess, but I'm gonna go with Facebook.

00:54:41   (audience laughs)

00:54:43   (audience cheering)

00:54:46   - I wondered if it was gonna happen.

00:54:53   - So if I'm following you basically,

00:54:54   you are interpreting failure in a very different way.

00:54:58   - No, no, no, I'm interpreting privacy as a failure.

00:55:01   - Yeah, privacy's a failure.

00:55:03   - Because by any standard,

00:55:05   Facebook is a wildly successful company,

00:55:07   unless you measure--

00:55:08   - I know, but what did our listeners say?

00:55:10   - Evil, in which case--

00:55:11   - Are they maybe on my side here?

00:55:13   - You want me Facebook, I guess?

00:55:14   (bell dings)

00:55:15   (audience cheers)

00:55:18   Legitimately the most applause Facebook has received

00:55:30   in a long time right now.

00:55:31   - More than at a Facebook conference.

00:55:35   - Okay, Matt, it's back to you.

00:55:36   We have one left.

00:55:38   One ghost hovers above the social media graveyard.

00:55:41   - Woo.

00:55:43   - Who is it?

00:55:44   - Blue?

00:55:44   (audience laughing)

00:55:47   - Funny thing is my answer's not that far away from that.

00:55:48   - Does Pac-Man go turn blue?

00:55:50   - I was gonna say peach?

00:55:52   (audience cheering)

00:55:53   - Wow.

00:55:54   - Still around, man.

00:55:55   (buzzer buzzing)

00:55:56   Still around.

00:55:57   Two strikes.

00:55:58   We're down to it here.

00:56:00   - If Facebook is on there, Twitter has to be.

00:56:04   (audience laughing)

00:56:05   - All right, show me Twitter.

00:56:07   (buzzer buzzing)

00:56:07   - Oh.

00:56:11   - All right, Team Steven, you get a chance to steal.

00:56:14   You've gotta get this very hard to guess answer.

00:56:18   - Or is it?

00:56:19   - I would say yes, it is.

00:56:21   - It's fair.

00:56:22   (audience laughing)

00:56:23   You really need this one.

00:56:25   You're 100 points behind.

00:56:26   - 102.

00:56:29   Team Steven has 90 points.

00:56:32   Team Myke has 192 points.

00:56:36   That's a lot more points, Steven.

00:56:37   - Casey Liss is down in the Microsoft metrics.

00:56:39   - Yeah, but yours are a gym/basketball coach position.

00:56:41   - It's not a bunt, I don't care.

00:56:43   - He's charting to play.

00:56:45   - Okay.

00:56:47   - They look really confident.

00:56:48   - Yeah, this is really interesting, alright.

00:56:50   - I promised Casey I was gonna project confidence

00:56:53   and I'm over here like.

00:56:54   - Team Steven.

00:56:55   - Hey.

00:56:57   - What's your answer?

00:56:57   - Friendster.

00:56:59   - Whoa.

00:56:59   (audience applauds)

00:57:02   That's the only time that name has been uttered

00:57:04   this decade.

00:57:05   - Wow, I think I remember.

00:57:06   - Actually, I believe the first time on Relay FM

00:57:09   in the network's history that we've said the word Friendster.

00:57:11   Myke Hurley, show me Friendster.

00:57:14   (bell dings)

00:57:14   (audience cheers)

00:57:17   All right, the score is 192 to 190,

00:57:31   which essentially means whoever wins this last question

00:57:34   wins this round, and I need my team captains back up here.

00:57:38   (audience applauding)

00:57:41   The pressure intensifies.

00:57:44   We try to run the gamut with our questions here.

00:57:48   - Oh God.

00:57:49   - And that's why I,

00:57:50   this very serious technology podcast network,

00:57:54   I wanna ask you to name an animated movie.

00:57:59   Rose.

00:58:01   - Up.

00:58:02   - Up, show me up.

00:58:04   (bell dinging)

00:58:05   - Woo.

00:58:07   Number two answer, Aline, name an animated movie.

00:58:11   - I've gotta go with The Incredibles.

00:58:13   - All right, show me The Incredibles.

00:58:15   Number five answer.

00:58:18   All right, Team Myke gets control of the board.

00:58:21   Start thinking about animation.

00:58:22   We have six in this category, two have been revealed.

00:58:25   Four more for the win.

00:58:28   Matt, Alexander.

00:58:29   - Lion King.

00:58:30   - The Lion King.

00:58:32   - It's not animated anymore. - It's a circle of life.

00:58:35   (audience laughing)

00:58:37   (audience applauds)

00:58:39   - Moves the soul, Jason, it moves the soul.

00:58:40   - Number four answer.

00:58:42   Very good.

00:58:42   Nat knows his Lion King.

00:58:45   Myke, how are you doing?

00:58:47   - Toy Story.

00:58:50   - Show me Toy Story.

00:58:53   (bell dings)

00:58:54   (audience applauds)

00:58:55   Number one.

00:58:56   Number one.

00:58:58   Sean?

00:59:01   - Cars.

00:59:04   Very popular people love the cars.

00:59:07   Myke?

00:59:09   (buzzer)

00:59:10   They don't love the cars, sorry.

00:59:10   I take it back, they don't love the cars.

00:59:12   - Wally.

00:59:13   - Wally.

00:59:14   (bell dings)

00:59:16   - All right.

00:59:17   (audience applauds)

00:59:18   - Dang.

00:59:19   Well, you have one left and then you win,

00:59:24   if you can get it, and they have one strike?

00:59:27   - They have one strike, Jason.

00:59:28   - All right, thank you, Myke.

00:59:30   Matthew, it's back to you.

00:59:31   - Whoa.

00:59:32   Jungle Book?

00:59:33   (audience laughs)

00:59:35   The Jungle Book.

00:59:36   (buzzer buzzes)

00:59:37   That's not it.

00:59:38   - I have two strikes, Jason.

00:59:39   - Thank you, Myke.

00:59:40   - It's okay.

00:59:41   (audience laughs)

00:59:43   - How many now?

00:59:44   - It's two, okay, all right.

00:59:46   (laughs)

00:59:47   Myke Schmitz, name an animated movie.

00:59:49   That's chosen by the listeners of Relay FM.

00:59:51   - I'm hoping there's a lot of incomparable crossover here,

00:59:55   The Iron Giant.

00:59:56   - Yeah, that's one of my favorites.

00:59:58   Show me The Iron Giant.

01:00:00   (buzzer buzzes)

01:00:02   - That was three strikes, Jason.

01:00:03   - That was three strikes.

01:00:05   All right, Team Steven, huddle up.

01:00:07   You need to give me the number six answer.

01:00:12   - I will order to huddle this time.

01:00:14   Taking the mic a position is caseless.

01:00:18   Let's see.

01:00:18   - There's a lot of humming going on

01:00:23   with some Pixar movies I heard in there.

01:00:25   - Some Disney movies.

01:00:27   Some other animated movies by other companies.

01:00:29   - The animation, now you know,

01:00:31   - The new Lion King and the new Jungle Book,

01:00:33   technically not animated movies.

01:00:35   - Is that true?

01:00:35   - Well, they're not live action.

01:00:37   I guess they're animated.

01:00:38   We'll let Todd Desiree tell us what it is.

01:00:40   - Every movie is animated if you think about it.

01:00:41   - Every movie is animated now, it's true.

01:00:43   - That's true.

01:00:44   - All right, we ran that into the ground.

01:00:48   Team, Steven, I need an answer.

01:00:51   - Come forth, my children.

01:00:53   - All right, mm.

01:00:59   This is very painful.

01:01:01   Coco.

01:01:02   - Coco.

01:01:03   Ooh, controversial.

01:01:06   It's a shot in the dark.

01:01:08   You're looking at the board, you're looking at the trends,

01:01:09   you're making a call.

01:01:11   Show me for the win, Coco.

01:01:14   (buzzer)

01:01:16   (audience groans)

01:01:18   Team Myke in the end came through by a score of,

01:01:23   oh, 283 to 190.

01:01:25   The last one, a little more contemporary,

01:01:28   not really fitting with the theme as much as those.

01:01:31   Any thoughts, any guesses?

01:01:32   (audience murmurs)

01:01:34   Into the Spider-Verse?

01:01:36   Yeah.

01:01:37   (audience applauds)

01:01:40   All right.

01:01:41   The C team.

01:01:44   Team Steven, thank you for playing.

01:01:47   I'm sorry we only have these lovely parting gifts for you.

01:01:49   And Team Myke, you survived.

01:01:51   - Yeah.

01:01:52   - To face.

01:01:53   - The final round.

01:01:55   your fierce foes in the final round after the break.

01:01:59   Thank you for being here.

01:02:01   You may now escape the stage, if you like.

01:02:04   (audience applauding)

01:02:07   So, Stephen, what did we learn?

01:02:10   Did we learn anything?

01:02:16   - I think we learned a whole lot.

01:02:17   I think we learned that we need to be more careful

01:02:20   about who we name after certain people.

01:02:24   You wanted it.

01:02:25   That's fair.

01:02:27   Also, Friendster.

01:02:28   Mm-hmm, yeah, who knew?

01:02:30   And Facebook, Facebook the most failed of all social media.

01:02:34   You know, we're in the valley,

01:02:35   some Facebook employees were here

01:02:36   and they left in shame, I think, so sorry.

01:02:39   Oh, they voted for it.

01:02:40   Oh, no, there is one.

01:02:44   Don't like show yourself, I guess, I don't know.

01:02:48   So, Steven, what happens now?

01:02:49   So, we're going to have a little bit of an intermission.

01:02:52   There are drinks here and in the lobby.

01:02:55   And if you're listening to the live stream,

01:02:56   we're gonna keep the live stream going

01:02:58   so you too can get a beverage, I guess if you're at home.

01:03:01   And we'll be back in a little while.

01:03:04   - Yes, and our next up before we get to the finals

01:03:06   of the Feud will be a very special conversation

01:03:09   slash competition between Myke and Steven.

01:03:13   So this is getting serious.

01:03:14   We're getting a fight, so look forward to that.

01:03:18   But until then, there are beverages out in the lobby.

01:03:21   Please take a break, have a beverage.

01:03:23   (audience applauding)

01:03:25   (electronic music)

01:05:03   (upbeat music)

01:05:05   - From Relay FM, this is Act Two.

01:05:10   (audience cheering)

01:05:16   Steven hi. Hi. Hey Jason. How you doing? Pretty good. This is the ultimate representation of the summer of fun

01:05:24   People wearing suits and sport coats it feels like summer up here. Yeah. Oh, yeah, it's also fun

01:05:34   It is also fun. It is fun. So in this part of the show, it's it we're gonna play a little game

01:05:40   but yeah, but it's also a

01:05:43   a chance to talk to you guys because you're the founders of Relay.

01:05:46   This is the fifth birthday of Relay FM and that's why we're all here.

01:05:50   [cheers]

01:05:52   Just a few days ago.

01:05:54   Woo!

01:05:54   We're in kindergarten now.

01:05:56   Woo!

01:05:56   Oh wait, so I'm going to ask you some questions.

01:05:59   You have whiteboards.

01:06:00   You should pick those up.

01:06:02   This is mostly to keep you honest.

01:06:06   Bending down was bad.

01:06:08   It's a little bit like the newlywed game.

01:06:10   [laughter]

01:06:13   - Five years is not a new word.

01:06:15   - It's not.

01:06:17   All right.

01:06:20   Well, we're gonna do some trivia,

01:06:22   and then we're also gonna talk.

01:06:23   - Whiteboards are really against left-handed people.

01:06:25   So if there's a lot of smudges and--

01:06:27   - More like rightboards, huh?

01:06:29   - Am I right?

01:06:30   That's very good.

01:06:31   I like that.

01:06:32   That was a better joke than you were given credit for.

01:06:33   I think you should say it again.

01:06:34   - Thank you.

01:06:35   I said more like rightboards.

01:06:36   - Yeah.

01:06:37   - And you said, "Am I right?"

01:06:38   - Am I right?

01:06:39   No.

01:06:40   - You're not.

01:06:41   You're left-handed.

01:06:43   I would like both of you to write down how many shows are currently running on relay FM?

01:06:47   I knew it.

01:06:49   Active broadcasts, right?

01:06:52   What did we get? 27 from Myke?

01:06:54   27.

01:06:55   And 29 from Steven.

01:06:57   And according to my judges, Myke was right. #MykeWasRight. 27.

01:07:02   Oh no!

01:07:04   This was a joke between the two of us because this was kind of like a question I hope would come up.

01:07:11   because I lost track of this a long time ago.

01:07:14   That was a complete guess.

01:07:16   Once it got past 20, it just became impossible to keep up.

01:07:18   - And we should say, so we knew there was gonna be

01:07:20   some sort of trivia, and we did no preparation.

01:07:23   - Yep.

01:07:24   No, that was, it wasn't by being lazy.

01:07:27   That was the goal.

01:07:28   Like, it was how much do we just know?

01:07:30   - Right.

01:07:30   - That was what we were going with.

01:07:31   - Yeah.

01:07:32   Yeah, so when the network started,

01:07:33   how many shows were there?

01:07:35   No, no, no, this is not a question.

01:07:37   - I know that one.

01:07:38   - You can answer with your words, Steven.

01:07:39   Use your words.

01:07:40   - Five. - Five.

01:07:41   - Five. - Five.

01:07:42   - We got a point for that? - There was one new show.

01:07:44   - Five.

01:07:45   - One new show, which was analog, the rest had--

01:07:48   - You could be answering questions we don't know about.

01:07:50   Stop it. - That's true, that's true.

01:07:51   - Yeah, oh yeah, that's right.

01:07:52   Well, okay, how about this one then,

01:07:54   and this'll be a good point of discussion.

01:07:56   - I'm so nervous. - 27 are alive.

01:07:59   How many have ended?

01:08:00   (audience groans)

01:08:01   Now, we know they're mostly with you or me on them.

01:08:04   - It's true.

01:08:05   So, can I ask a clarifying question?

01:08:08   - Sure.

01:08:09   You may not know the--

01:08:10   I've literally given you all I know right here.

01:08:13   I'm just deciding if we count shows like the prompt

01:08:15   that were retired elsewhere.

01:08:17   No?

01:08:18   The question--

01:08:19   Judge Brian Hamilton--

01:08:20   Judge_BrianHamilton says no.

01:08:22   Did not include previously created products.

01:08:25   Yes.

01:08:26   Products?

01:08:27   Shows?

01:08:28   I was trying not to say what Brian said.

01:08:30   Audio programs.

01:08:31   So how many are dead?

01:08:34   I don't know if I'm going to change my answer on it.

01:08:37   No, I'm just going to go with it.

01:08:39   OK.

01:08:39   I don't know what, okay, Myke says five, Steven says eight.

01:08:43   Do we give them credit for whoever's closer

01:08:45   or do we just give them no credit?

01:08:47   I'm gonna let my, yeah, I'm gonna let my judges decide that.

01:08:51   They're tallying the score over there separately.

01:08:54   The answer is 11.

01:08:55   - Whoa!

01:08:56   - So you guys have vastly underestimated

01:08:59   the number of shows that died.

01:08:59   - We don't like to think about those.

01:09:00   - No.

01:09:01   - No show ever really dies, you know?

01:09:04   - You can put something in the feed at any time.

01:09:06   - You can, and you never know when it might

01:09:09   - You come back with a surprise episode.

01:09:10   - Buzzy puppy story.

01:09:12   - You never know.

01:09:13   - So I get a point, 'cause I was closest?

01:09:15   - Okay.

01:09:15   - Seems like cheating.

01:09:18   - Seems like cheating.

01:09:20   What show on Real AFM has the most episodes?

01:09:25   - Okay, I have another clarifying question.

01:09:26   - Yeah.

01:09:27   (audience laughing)

01:09:28   It's the biggest number.

01:09:30   - Easy.

01:09:31   (audience laughing)

01:09:34   - It's Mac Power Users.

01:09:36   - Well, my clarifying question was that Mac Power Users

01:09:40   had the majority of their episodes, I'm gonna say,

01:09:42   before joining Relay FM, because I expect then

01:09:47   that the most episodes of a Relay FM show is Upgrades, right?

01:09:51   - It's Upgrades, it's gotta be.

01:09:54   - Yeah.

01:09:55   - 'Cause it passed Connected, and Connected was original.

01:09:57   - Because we take the holidays off, Connected,

01:09:58   but me and Jason never sleep.

01:10:01   So, I mean, the Upgrades, that's when they appear.

01:10:04   - It's true.

01:10:05   - MPU, episode 500 coming September 15th?

01:10:08   - That's wild.

01:10:11   That is so wild.

01:10:12   - Whatever that Sunday is.

01:10:13   - And that is how many years?

01:10:14   Is it 10 years?

01:10:15   - A little over 10 years, right David?

01:10:19   - David's very excited about that.

01:10:21   As he should be.

01:10:22   - As he should be.

01:10:23   'Cause he's the Iron Man.

01:10:24   You're the Johnny Come Lately.

01:10:25   He's the Iron Man of the Mac Power users.

01:10:26   - Wow.

01:10:27   - You did like four of them or something.

01:10:28   - Yeah.

01:10:29   I mean they're good.

01:10:30   Those four are good.

01:10:31   - Thanks.

01:10:32   (audience laughing)

01:10:33   Call me at 504 in episode 1000.

01:10:35   How many shows does your co-founder currently host?

01:10:42   Question crafter Brian Hamilton,

01:10:47   gleeful in the audience at this.

01:10:50   Oh, oh.

01:10:51   I think Steven has the harder question here.

01:10:54   - He really does 'cause I don't even know.

01:10:56   - I tried counting and then I just guessed.

01:10:59   - Alright, Myke?

01:11:00   - Full.

01:11:01   - 10.

01:11:02   Four.

01:11:04   Nine.

01:11:06   [audience groans]

01:11:08   That's good to know. I didn't know that.

01:11:10   Nine.

01:11:12   Yeah, but do any of them have episode 500 coming up?

01:11:14   But look, we've established this.

01:11:16   It's not your work.

01:11:18   [audience laughs]

01:11:20   Some of it is.

01:11:22   And also, I've done more than 500 in total.

01:11:24   You know, the thing I don't remember from five years ago

01:11:26   is the fact that you guys said,

01:11:28   because you did a great relay

01:11:30   QA episode of connected last week. Yes

01:11:34   It was excellent. Everyone listened to it already. I'm sure by the way

01:11:37   This enough people laughed at the dot FM switch on joke to suggest that they did in fact

01:11:42   Listen episode of connected because this will go out in the connected feed. Yes means that I just want to be clear on this

01:11:46   almost

01:11:49   Every host who is not Federico has been on connected and connected this recently in Federico

01:11:56   Is it the beach he's on writing vacation. Yes, 50,000 words don't write themselves

01:12:01   Yet, yeah when he works it out one day will feed Federico into an AI machine

01:12:07   So hey, so what are the scores I think he's winning

01:12:12   My answer was yes. Yes. Myke's winning by one point. I thought Kathy would have my back. I guess not know

01:12:20   What show?

01:12:24   Has the single longest?

01:12:26   episode on the whole network.

01:12:28   - Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk.

01:12:34   - We're counting like, not like member shows, right?

01:12:38   - Not member shows.

01:12:39   - Alright.

01:12:40   - Regular episodes.

01:12:41   - Who are the chatty Kathys?

01:12:44   Who are the talkers?

01:12:47   Who are the people who don't do what I do,

01:12:49   which is hey, we talked for three hours,

01:12:51   it's a two part episode and we can take next week off.

01:12:55   the talk show yeah you could just answer the talk show if you wanted to is it

01:13:00   clockwise alright cortex upgrade let's shout out to episode 25 of

01:13:12   reconcilable differences

01:13:23   Merlin Merlin how long how long was it

01:13:28   hey such he has the bad cop in episode who's am I in the box who's in the box

01:13:35   today am I in the box it was episode 25 zero droogs three hours and 21 minutes

01:13:44   holy moly people got their money's worth that fortnight I'll tell you Wow it was

01:13:51   - This is mostly Jon talking about how he didn't do drugs.

01:13:55   - Wow.

01:13:58   - He's very hairy.

01:14:00   - What show had the single shortest episode?

01:14:08   - Regular episode doesn't include subnet.

01:14:14   - Good.

01:14:15   - Wait, what else did you say?

01:14:15   - Not subnet or ingenious.

01:14:17   - Not subnet, not ingenious?

01:14:18   - Oh.

01:14:19   (audience laughing)

01:14:22   The average ingenious is like eight minutes.

01:14:24   Yeah.

01:14:25   Wow.

01:14:26   Brian Hamilton is the human footnote

01:14:30   in the audience telling us.

01:14:32   I think we answered the same thing clockwise.

01:14:37   The single shortest episode was a clockwise?

01:14:41   They're all about 30 minutes.

01:14:42   Yeah, but like most shows do go over 30,

01:14:44   so I figured maybe one was like 28.

01:14:46   I mean it was this or under the radar.

01:14:46   - All the live shows are always under 30.

01:14:49   - I'm looking at Aline.

01:14:50   It was less than or equal.

01:14:52   She didn't have a, so that was six minutes and 57 seconds.

01:14:54   - Oh, Aline.

01:14:56   (audience applauding)

01:15:00   - I admire your concession.

01:15:02   Yeah, that's right.

01:15:03   Casey Liss is sitting between Merlin and Aline.

01:15:05   So he's, once again, Casey's just kinda even Steven there.

01:15:09   (audience laughing)

01:15:11   That's where we like him.

01:15:12   He's the Velveeta of that sandwich.

01:15:13   (audience laughing)

01:15:15   - Never put Go-Vita in a sandwich.

01:15:18   That's a terrible, that's a terrible sandwich.

01:15:21   - I'm sorry, I don't know where that came from.

01:15:23   - I don't think we're doing very well.

01:15:24   - Like Go-Vita, I don't know where it came from.

01:15:25   - I don't think we're doing very well in this game.

01:15:27   - All right.

01:15:28   - Yeah, I don't think so either,

01:15:29   but this is kind of about what I expected.

01:15:31   - Here's a good one, this is the law of large numbers.

01:15:33   As of August 19th, 2019, how many total episodes

01:15:37   have been published on Relay FM?

01:15:38   - Holy cow.

01:15:39   - Relay.fm, switch on.

01:15:41   - Good work.

01:15:42   (audience laughing)

01:15:43   And again, I will ask,

01:15:45   did you just count the episode numbers of all the shows,

01:15:50   or did you count what's actually been broadcast

01:15:53   on Relay FM?

01:15:54   I'm thinking Mac Power Users again.

01:15:55   - Number of episodes posted on Relay Top FM.

01:15:59   - Yeah, so it's the episodes that are in the CMS.

01:16:01   - Episodes in the CMS, all right.

01:16:02   - Which includes all of Mac Power Users.

01:16:04   - Yes, it does.

01:16:04   - This changes everything. - I don't know.

01:16:08   It's whatever you were thinking plus 480.

01:16:11   (audience laughing)

01:16:13   - Yeah, there's like a, yeah, you got some prompts,

01:16:14   some clockwise, some other old kind of stuff

01:16:16   that got important.

01:16:18   - I don't know, this is crazy.

01:16:19   - Five years, you could guess that way,

01:16:22   you could do some, you know, let's five years,

01:16:24   how many episodes a year, add Mac power users.

01:16:27   - That feels too hot.

01:16:29   - We are gonna be wildly different.

01:16:31   I know this is gonna be like, very strange.

01:16:33   - I'm not looking, what'd you write?

01:16:36   - You can't say I'm not looking as you're looking.

01:16:38   - I didn't actually see what you wrote.

01:16:42   - I'm always admiring your tie.

01:16:43   - Alright, I'm saying $2,500.

01:16:46   - $3,200.

01:16:48   - Closest wins.

01:16:51   - $4,550.

01:16:52   (audience cheering)

01:16:54   That was gonna be my first answer.

01:16:56   - Wow.

01:16:57   I'm not even mad that I'm wrong,

01:17:00   I'm just impressed at us.

01:17:00   - And I would like to congratulate the listeners

01:17:02   who have listened to the Master Feed

01:17:04   and heard all $4,550 episodes.

01:17:06   - We will be praying for you.

01:17:08   (audience laughing)

01:17:10   - Okay, another way--

01:17:11   - $4,000?

01:17:12   - Yeah, another way to view this question,

01:17:14   as of August 19th, how many days of audio content is that?

01:17:19   (audience laughs)

01:17:22   - This is where the ability of us to do mental math

01:17:26   is really what comes into play.

01:17:26   - Well, that Reconcilable Difference episode,

01:17:28   that was one day.

01:17:29   - Yeah.

01:17:30   (audience laughs)

01:17:33   - I'm not looking.

01:17:34   - I'm gonna, I'm gonna, mm.

01:17:38   - Why do you change every time you look at my audience?

01:17:41   500 what'd you say wait what I don't know it's like a number in my I don't

01:17:47   know 6,500 there's there's 4,500 episodes huh so you're saying that

01:17:58   every

01:18:10   I only did one part of the equation which is how many hours yeah you gotta

01:18:17   carry the zero six thousand five hundred down so it's a hundred and ninety six

01:18:23   you know by the price is right rules you would lost way over and this is just as

01:18:32   - Wait, didn't you say Price is Right rules them?

01:18:34   - No, someone out there said it, but they're not Jason.

01:18:37   - I will wait the follow up.

01:18:39   - All right, Kathy will make the judgments.

01:18:42   - 6,500.

01:18:44   - I just forgot to do the next part.

01:18:46   I would have got the math wrong anyway, so.

01:18:50   - And you did, so.

01:18:51   (audience laughing)

01:18:52   Why wait?

01:18:53   - Don't be mean.

01:18:54   - Wow.

01:18:56   All right, what's next?

01:18:57   - It's my birthday.

01:18:58   - Well. - Kind of.

01:19:00   - It's half your birthday.

01:19:01   It must be some legal, but aside from you guys

01:19:04   Name two of the three people who currently host the most shows on relay

01:19:08   FM switch on name two of the three two of the three you can name all three if you want

01:19:13   but name name two of the three I

01:19:15   Don't know why it's so specific name two of the three. I can make you name all three

01:19:19   One was too easy. I feel prepared

01:19:22   Not ready

01:19:25   6500 let's write that down again

01:19:28   (audience laughing)

01:19:31   - Blue?

01:19:32   - Blue?

01:19:33   Yeah, don't write down Matt's name.

01:19:40   - Very sure I got this wrong.

01:19:41   - All right, Jason and David.

01:19:42   - Jason and David.

01:19:44   - Well, Steven, you and I killed my third show,

01:19:48   so it's not me.

01:19:49   - Oh no, self-owned.

01:19:51   - Uh-huh.

01:19:53   David Sparks is one of them, so you tied.

01:19:55   - Okay.

01:19:56   - Or you both failed.

01:19:58   - I tied in the same bad way.

01:20:01   - Federico.

01:20:02   - That guy.

01:20:04   - I do two shows with him.

01:20:06   (audience laughing)

01:20:09   - And Tiff.

01:20:12   - Oh.

01:20:15   - Tiff Arment.

01:20:16   - Yeah, she keeps silently adding them.

01:20:17   - She keeps making more shows, that's right.

01:20:20   - Wow, sorry Federico.

01:20:22   - Oh man.

01:20:23   - Ouch.

01:20:24   - You know, you're at the beach, you're just out of mind.

01:20:26   - Two shows of him.

01:20:27   So we had about 15 hosts on stage today plus us.

01:20:32   - Oh no.

01:20:35   - How many hosts are currently actively hosting shows

01:20:40   on Relay FM?

01:20:41   - 6,500.

01:20:42   (audience laughing)

01:20:46   - There were more, but many of them died

01:20:48   during their day-long podcast, so.

01:20:49   (audience laughing)

01:20:52   - So, hang on, hang on.

01:20:54   - The question is total, including the 15 here and us,

01:20:57   it's total number of relay hosts, that's what you asked?

01:20:59   - Yeah, yeah, I think so.

01:21:01   - Why are you being so specific to that question?

01:21:03   - Yeah.

01:21:04   - Well currently it's just three of us.

01:21:06   - What, wait a minute.

01:21:07   - Check the live stream, yeah.

01:21:09   (audience laughing and applauding)

01:21:10   - Get out, just get out of here.

01:21:12   - Clockwise, four technology topics, four people.

01:21:19   - There could be another show being recorded.

01:21:19   - 3,000 minutes.

01:21:21   - There could be another show being recorded right now,

01:21:23   you don't know. - Three days.

01:21:23   - All right. - All right.

01:21:25   - What do you have? - 35.

01:21:26   - I said the same thing, 35.

01:21:28   I didn't cheat, we spent a lot of time together.

01:21:31   - You forgot Matt Alexander, it's 36.

01:21:35   (audience laughs)

01:21:38   Wait, wait, wait.

01:21:40   Oh, I see what happened.

01:21:42   I thought you changed the answer, I was very confused.

01:21:44   So there's Neviros?

01:21:47   - Yeah, his name didn't get drawn accidentally.

01:21:48   - How could you forget Matt, he's right there.

01:21:50   - So do we both get a point now?

01:21:51   Is that how that works?

01:21:52   - You get nothing for that one.

01:21:53   - Do any of us get points?

01:21:54   This scoring system seems very strange and arbitrary.

01:21:57   - All right.

01:21:58   - 'Cause before we were getting points when we were close,

01:21:59   and now we just don't get 'em.

01:22:00   - Yeah.

01:22:01   - I don't know about that.

01:22:02   - All right.

01:22:03   - 6,500.

01:22:04   - Brian, I'm gonna skip one of your questions,

01:22:07   because they already answered it,

01:22:08   which is which has more episodes, upgrade or connected?

01:22:10   Now, connected started before upgrade.

01:22:12   - Yep. - Yeah.

01:22:13   But you guys don't take any time off.

01:22:15   - Nope. - It has like breaks

01:22:15   and stuff.

01:22:16   And we don't go to the beach.

01:22:17   - Nope. - What we do, we just.

01:22:20   - We record an episode while we're at the beach.

01:22:21   - Summer of fun!

01:22:22   (cheering)

01:22:24   But which has more episodes

01:22:25   ungeniused or thoroughly considered?

01:22:27   Oh, they're very confident here.

01:22:31   - Oh no, wait, change my.

01:22:33   (bell dings)

01:22:35   No, I just couldn't be bothered to spell it.

01:22:36   - Ungeniused.

01:22:37   - Thoroughly considered.

01:22:38   - It's ungeniused.

01:22:39   - Ah, I knew I should have changed it.

01:22:41   - Episode 87 or something, right in there.

01:22:43   - That's a lot of Wikipedia pages.

01:22:45   - Wow, that's way more than I thought there were.

01:22:46   - Yeah, 'cause very short.

01:22:47   - There's only like, I don't know,

01:22:49   40 episodes of thoroughly considered.

01:22:50   - Yeah, that was easy.

01:22:51   - Yeah, it should have been.

01:22:52   I'm on both of them.

01:22:53   - So what's the score?

01:22:55   - [Man] Tied, four, four.

01:22:56   - Tied.

01:22:57   - Four, four.

01:22:58   - You guys are just so tight.

01:22:59   - How many more questions are there?

01:23:01   - Oh, no, a few, okay.

01:23:03   - 6,500.

01:23:04   - This one is from the--

01:23:06   - This is not funny yet.

01:23:08   - This is from the Merlin Man trivia book.

01:23:12   Rec. Diff's or Due By Friday, which has more episodes.

01:23:17   Ooh, such a hard--

01:23:22   What is Sophie's choice this is?

01:23:24   - Due by Friday. - Due by Friday.

01:23:26   - It's a weekly challenge podcast

01:23:27   and Rectifs is every other week, so yeah, due by Friday.

01:23:30   - Due by Friday.

01:23:31   - That's interesting.

01:23:34   - Because Bright just started a long time before.

01:23:36   - Yeah, but they caught up.

01:23:37   - Yeah.

01:23:38   - Oh, this is a great one.

01:23:40   Which has more episodes, Mac Power Users

01:23:42   or The Incomparable?

01:23:43   I'll have you know-- - Incomparable.

01:23:49   - Mac Power Users.

01:23:50   I'll have you know that for a while

01:23:52   we had more episodes than them,

01:23:53   but then they started doing that fifth show every month.

01:23:56   - I know this answer because Jason complains.

01:23:59   - Yeah, I was like, oh man, I'm ahead of my three.

01:24:01   Oh, it's two now.

01:24:02   Now it's, all right, it's over.

01:24:04   - MPU it is.

01:24:05   - MPU it is.

01:24:05   - That's really embarrassing for some of us.

01:24:07   (audience applauds)

01:24:08   - You serve on me.

01:24:09   - You podcast for 10 years, you get a lot of episodes.

01:24:11   All right, this is a,

01:24:14   we're entering the final portion of the proceedings here,

01:24:16   which is the newlywed game portion.

01:24:18   - And the score is?

01:24:20   5-4 to me.

01:24:21   5-4 Myke.

01:24:22   All right.

01:24:23   Steven, please write down Myke's favorite podcast.

01:24:28   Myke, please write down Steven's favorite podcast.

01:24:31   It's like they're gunslingers.

01:24:38   Oh, what, what?

01:24:40   Hang on there.

01:24:41   The judges are saying something.

01:24:42   Oh, the judges are coming on stage.

01:24:43   This is very concerning.

01:24:45   Well, because I guess--

01:24:46   how are they going to prove it?

01:24:47   We have to tell them somehow.

01:24:48   - I could just say whatever I want.

01:24:50   - Mm-hmm.

01:24:51   - Write the answer down again.

01:24:53   Jason, let's say it out loud.

01:24:55   - Yeah, you write them down

01:24:56   and then you have to guess the other one.

01:24:59   - Oh yeah.

01:24:59   - Or no, you write down his favorite,

01:25:03   you write down your favorite and then we'll reveal

01:25:04   and you can say whether it is or not.

01:25:06   - Oh, that's really embarrassing.

01:25:07   Potentially. - I don't know.

01:25:10   - I don't think I know my favorite podcast.

01:25:12   - I have two, I'll pick one.

01:25:13   - What's your favorite podcast?

01:25:15   - What's my favorite podcast?

01:25:16   Not what I think Myke's favorite podcast is.

01:25:18   - No, wait, hang on.

01:25:19   (audience laughing)

01:25:23   - Don't write down your favorite podcast.

01:25:24   - I'm confused.

01:25:25   - You write down what you think I'm gonna say

01:25:27   is my favorite podcast.

01:25:28   - Or we could do this one at a time.

01:25:29   - No, wait, I'm really confused.

01:25:31   - We should keep talking.

01:25:32   - Wasn't I supposed to write down my favorite show?

01:25:35   - Okay, you can do that.

01:25:35   You wrote down what you think his favorite show is.

01:25:37   - I wrote down Myke's favorite podcast.

01:25:38   - Okay, we'll do it.

01:25:39   - I was confused.

01:25:40   - All right, so reveal it.

01:25:42   - How do you prove it?

01:25:43   'Cause I could just say, "Oh, it's not that."

01:25:44   - Reveal if you match.

01:25:45   - No, you did it, you did it, right?

01:25:46   wrote down your favorite podcast yes okay so so so if we match then somehow

01:25:52   show I'm confused reveal all right so this is Myke's favorite podcast my

01:25:57   favorite podcast all right Dubai Friday no I was thinking current so no points

01:26:03   there now do it again problem Steven's favorite podcast okay we're getting now

01:26:10   you there hang on so I know you write down your current show no but that was

01:26:15   what I went with. So you've... Just his favorite podcast here. I just went with my favorite one right now. So now we have to write down my favorite podcast. Yeah.

01:26:21   My favorite podcast right now. He doesn't know I'm not gonna know.

01:26:26   This podcast is the only one that's on Real AFM right now so... Yeah. That's whatever

01:26:31   Myke's on. At any given moment. I don't know. Well then I can't turn it around can I?

01:26:38   Alright. You have to pick something. Alright I'm gonna pick something. Did you see what I write? No!

01:26:43   - No.

01:26:44   - I know you looked.

01:26:47   Cheetah.

01:26:48   - ATP?

01:26:49   (audience cheers)

01:26:52   - I'll go with it.

01:26:54   - Casey gets a point.

01:26:56   (audience laughs)

01:26:59   - It's the world's finest catch-up podcast.

01:27:02   - Yeah, I kinda screwed you out on that one.

01:27:04   - All right, no.

01:27:05   - That was not a great question.

01:27:07   - 'Cause I went current, no, I went in old time.

01:27:09   Old time, that is it, the adventure zone.

01:27:11   then it's fine.

01:27:13   - That's not what I wrote down.

01:27:14   - Steven, what's the first podcast you ever listened to?

01:27:19   - So we're both writing down the first show

01:27:22   I ever listened to.

01:27:23   - Yes.

01:27:24   This is good podcasting right here.

01:27:26   Frantic whiteboarding.

01:27:28   Myke's erasing.

01:27:29   Smartspeed will take all of this out.

01:27:32   - He's writing so much, so now I'm confused.

01:27:34   - Yeah.

01:27:36   Dear Diary, I discovered the world of podcasts today.

01:27:40   I went back to what I erased cause I didn't know what I did.

01:27:43   This we can tag.

01:27:45   Mac break weekly with Merlin man.

01:27:46   It's onto it. I was close. Yeah. Yeah. You were in the neighborhood.

01:27:55   You were in the studio hood. Yeah. And Petaluma.

01:27:59   Myke's first podcast.

01:28:00   Dignation.

01:28:02   Fun fact.

01:28:04   So they used to do a thing at the end of the show where if you bought a

01:28:09   of the Ignatian t-shirt.

01:28:11   You can take a picture of yourself, send it in.

01:28:13   - Oh no.

01:28:14   - There is an episode that I'm in.

01:28:16   A picture of me, long hair, no beard.

01:28:19   You can find it.

01:28:22   You gotta work hard though.

01:28:23   I'm not gonna tell you which one it was.

01:28:25   (audience laughing)

01:28:26   - Please tweet that to me immediately.

01:28:28   - Yep.

01:28:29   Scavenger hunt.

01:28:30   - So what's the score now?

01:28:32   - Seven, six, me.

01:28:34   - Still behind one.

01:28:35   - All right, we have reached the tattoo portion

01:28:37   of the questions.

01:28:38   (audience laughing)

01:28:40   - Steven's first tattoo.

01:28:41   - Do I have to name my own first tattoo

01:28:45   or is this just for him?

01:28:46   - No, you need to-- - I was there.

01:28:47   - You need to name it to verify his guess.

01:28:49   - Wait, so I'm writing down-- - You can either describe

01:28:52   it or draw it. - Steven's first tattoo.

01:28:54   - Steven's first tattoo.

01:28:56   - It's a picture of Myke, but I can't show you where it is.

01:28:58   (audience laughing)

01:29:00   - It's on his butt.

01:29:01   (audience laughing)

01:29:03   It's the coordinates of Beale Street.

01:29:05   - Incorrect.

01:29:07   - Ah!

01:29:08   - Myke is 6'8" on this forearm.

01:29:10   Beats it out.

01:29:11   They're across from each other.

01:29:14   - Yeah. - It's very confusing.

01:29:15   - All right, now, Steven, I want you to guess

01:29:17   what Myke's next tattoo is going to be.

01:29:19   - Oh, good.

01:29:20   - That's a good one, Brian.

01:29:24   - Picture of Steven.

01:29:27   That's not right.

01:29:28   I know what it is, but I can't think

01:29:30   of the name of the property.

01:29:32   - Describe it, yeah.

01:29:36   (laughing)

01:29:38   - I can't remember the name of it,

01:29:39   but that comic thing he likes.

01:29:41   - It's close, but I am gonna get that one,

01:29:44   but I'm getting some waves first.

01:29:46   - Some are fun! - Some are fun!

01:29:49   (laughing)

01:29:50   - Like a ocean wave?

01:29:52   - Yeah, like an ocean wave. - Or like people waving?

01:29:53   - Both.

01:31:00   [APPLAUSE]

01:31:02   You're a match.

01:31:03   This episode of Connected is brought to you by ExpressVPN.

01:31:10   When you're preparing to travel, there's a lot of things on your checklist.

01:31:13   But there's one very important thing to be sure to remember,

01:31:16   and that's the one app that's going to keep you safe and secure online while you're away.

01:31:20   ExpressVPN.

01:31:22   ExpressVPN doesn't just encrypt your data when you surf the internet on something like

01:31:26   on something like public airport or hotel wifi,

01:31:29   but lets you stream and access content

01:31:31   that you would normally maybe blocked in that country.

01:31:34   You know, we've all tried to watch YouTube

01:31:35   or Hulu or Netflix or something

01:31:37   and get that weird annoying region lock.

01:31:39   Well ExpressVPN lets you unblock all your favorite websites

01:31:42   and browse as if you were at home.

01:31:44   With ExpressVPN, powerful encryption secures your data

01:31:49   and it's super easy to use

01:31:50   because it just runs in the background.

01:31:52   Download the app, click to connect and you're protected.

01:31:56   ExpressVPN uses new cutting edge technology called Trusted Server to make

01:32:00   sure there are no logs anywhere of what you're doing online. The best part is it

01:32:04   costs less than seven dollars a month and comes with a 30-day money-back

01:32:07   guarantee. Right now I am traveling, I'm away from home, and you better believe

01:32:12   that I'm using ExpressVPN not just when I'm at the airport but when I'm at an

01:32:17   Airbnb or a coffee shop somewhere because I want to know that my data is

01:32:20   safe and secure. It gives me peace of mind when I'm away from home. So don't

01:32:25   travel without downloading express VPN to protect your

01:32:28   online activity and find out how you can get three months free.

01:32:31   Head over to express VPN comm slash connected. That's exp

01:32:36   r e s s VPN comm slash connected for three months free with a one

01:32:42   year package. So head over there. It's the one thing you

01:32:45   want to make sure you get checked off your travel

01:32:46   checklist. Our thanks to express VPN for their support of

01:35:08   - Is this one of those ones where it's like,

01:35:10   is the thing not the thing, or are we going with

01:35:13   the actual name, are we doing a McInerney on this one?

01:35:16   (buzzer)

01:35:19   - Just like hand signals there.

01:35:20   - Oh, no one the McInnery.

01:36:03   Who's that?

01:36:04   - You know, you've got your doubters.

01:36:08   - That was your third strike.

01:36:10   - Third strike, Myke?

01:36:11   - That was the third strike, Jason.

01:36:12   - Well, that means that the positive charger

01:36:13   should huddle up and see if you've got a good answer

01:36:15   for this last one.

01:36:16   You can steal it.

01:36:17   - Nobody in the positive chargers

01:36:18   stops the mica position.

01:36:21   Well, how will this fare for the team?

01:36:55   - Okay, big money, big money.

01:36:57   - These were allocated randomly,

01:36:59   but this is gonna be great, get ready.

01:37:45   >> Right, Myke, show me Google+. Number three answer, 21%. Quinn?

01:37:52   >> I was going to say Google+. Without anything on the board, I feel like I can just pick

01:37:56   a random word and there's probably a Google service. I don't know if this is officially

01:38:03   canceled but Google Glass? >> Google Glass? Is Google Glass a service

01:38:10   technically? >> I don't know.

01:38:12   - It doesn't really matter if people said it,

01:40:01   No, no, it's still there, you just, they don't update it.

01:40:04   - That's exactly what is happening.

01:40:06   (laughing)

01:40:07   - That is actually what is going on.

01:40:09   It's hard to tell sometimes.

01:40:11   - All right.

01:41:44   (audience cheering)

01:41:47   - That can't possibly be right.

01:41:52   - Why oh why would we ask this question?

01:41:55   - That's the right answer.

01:41:58   - Nice.

01:42:00   - Myke insisted we ask this question.

01:42:03   It was very important to me.

01:43:03   It's looking like a tough one here, team,

01:43:06   but let's give it a show.

01:43:08   Quinn, Sean, this is about as family feud a question

01:43:13   as I could possibly ask you.

01:43:44   Okay.

01:43:45   - No passing?

01:43:48   - Believe it or not.

01:43:49   - That's weird.

01:43:50   Alex, something you find at an Apple store.

01:43:56   - Wait, an Apple Store or the Apple?

01:43:57   - Oh, sorry, Apple Park, yes.

01:43:58   Oh, there was a murmur in the crowd.

01:43:59   He said it wrong.

01:44:00   You're right.

01:44:01   Thank you, thank you, murmurs.

01:44:18   - Okay.

01:44:20   - Number three answer.

01:44:21   - I hope I'm not the toughest.

01:44:23   - Hello, something you'd find at Apple Park.

01:45:03   employee fitness.

01:45:04   There is one.

01:45:05   Nobody answered that one.

01:45:07   Quinn, something you'd find at Apple Park.

01:45:09   We know about the Steve Jobs Theater.

01:45:11   - You have two strikes. - And the Apple Store.

01:45:12   But there are six total answers,

01:45:14   so we have four more to get here.

01:45:16   - An Apple employee?

01:45:18   (audience laughing)

01:45:19   (audience applauding)

01:45:22   - An Apple employee.

01:45:24   (buzzer buzzing)

01:45:27   - Oh.

01:45:28   - How many strikes is that, Myke?

01:45:31   - That was three strikes, Jason.

01:45:32   - Oh no.

01:45:34   All right, Team Myke, you wanna confer

01:45:35   about something you'd find at Apple Park?

01:45:38   You've already conferred, all right.

01:45:39   - Wow.

01:45:40   - Tim Cook.

01:45:41   - Something could once again be Tim Cook.

01:45:45   - We're taking a guess.

01:45:46   - Something named Tim Cook.

01:45:48   (bell dings)

01:45:50   - Too far away.

01:45:53   It's not a lot of points there, 34 points.

01:45:55   - Just the equal points.

01:45:57   - But you got 'em, they're all yours.

01:45:58   - It's not zero.

01:45:59   - That is a good point.

01:46:00   - Any other guesses?

01:46:02   I heard a lot of trees out there,

01:46:08   and they voted, so they probably know.

01:46:10   (bell dings)

01:46:12   - It's all Ponce.

01:46:14   - What else?

01:46:14   - Glass walls.

01:46:16   - Glass.

01:46:17   (bell dings)

01:46:18   Yeah.

01:46:19   (audience laughs)

01:46:20   Can't see it though.

01:46:21   And if you're hungry and you wanna go there,

01:46:27   you go to Cafe Max.

01:46:29   - Yay.

01:46:30   - You gotta have a pass to get in there though.

01:46:33   All right, we have one more round to go

01:46:36   before we crown our victors.

01:46:38   Bring our wonderful captains back up here.

01:46:40   (audience applauds)

01:46:43   (audience applauding)

01:46:46   - Rosemary Orchard.

01:46:49   - Hi. - It's very intense.

01:46:50   - Alex Cox. - Hello.

01:46:51   - Name, this is a compound question,

01:46:55   so wait until I get to the end.

01:46:57   Name a large cat or an obscure location in California.

01:47:02   (bell dinging)

01:47:05   Alex. - Snow Leopard.

01:47:07   - Snow Leopard, this is California, very strange place.

01:47:10   Myke, show me Snow Leopard.

01:47:11   [cheers]

01:47:13   How in the world?

01:47:18   Alex, top horse, or cocks?

01:47:20   I really like snow leopard, I'm glad you do too.

01:47:22   It was very good.

01:47:23   Wow.

01:47:23   As everybody knows, the best one, right?

01:47:25   That's what they all say?

01:47:26   Yep.

01:47:27   No bugs in snow leopard.

01:47:28   That's what they all say.

01:47:29   That's what ATP told me.

01:47:32   Flo, think back.

01:47:36   Name a large cat or an obscure location in California.

01:47:41   Yosemite.

01:47:41   - Yosemite.

01:47:42   - Yosemite.

01:47:45   Show me Yosemite.

01:47:46   (buzzer)

01:47:47   (audience gasps)

01:47:50   Guess it's not

01:47:50   - Was technically enough. - correct.

01:47:52   Wasn't.

01:47:53   - It's a good answer.

01:47:55   - Tiger.

01:47:56   - Tiger.

01:47:58   - Show me.

01:47:59   - Tiger.

01:48:00   (bell dings)

01:48:02   - Yeah.

01:48:02   (audience applauds)

01:48:04   Show me tiger.

01:48:05   Pretty good.

01:48:08   Quinn, you have one here?

01:48:10   - Mountain lion.

01:48:11   Mountain lion.

01:48:13   Myke, show me a mountain lion.

01:48:14   (bell dings)

01:48:16   (audience applauds)

01:48:18   Number three answer.

01:48:19   Wouldn't it be great if a mountain lion came out?

01:48:21   No, that would not be great.

01:48:22   That would not be very dangerous.

01:48:23   Hang on, Myke.

01:48:24   Here it is.

01:48:25   The snow leopard, it's here.

01:48:27   Alex, back around to you.

01:48:29   We have four more large cats or locations in California.

01:48:34   - Catalina.

01:48:35   - Catalina, oh, future.

01:48:39   Future thinking, future forward.

01:48:40   Myke, let's go into the future with Catalina.

01:48:44   (buzzer)

01:48:45   That was a security dialogue.

01:48:46   - It's a 32-bit app, it's gonna run.

01:48:48   (audience laughing)

01:48:50   - Double joke, both good.

01:48:51   - Yep.

01:48:52   - Will Adobe apps run on Catalina?

01:48:54   Probably not.

01:48:55   - I don't think so. - I mean, it barely runs

01:48:56   on what I'm, I don't know what I'm using,

01:48:58   Mavericks, probably. - With Adobe Air Installer

01:48:59   isn't even a retina, that's the one that really amazes me.

01:49:02   - It's wonderful. - High quality.

01:49:04   - All right, Flo. - Two remotes.

01:49:06   - Lion.

01:49:09   Show me lion.

01:49:11   (bell dings)

01:49:12   (audience applauds)

01:49:15   I see no locations in California in this list.

01:49:19   Well, lion number three, we've got the top four.

01:49:22   There are three more to go, Sparky.

01:49:25   - Panther?

01:49:27   - Panther.

01:49:28   Show me panther.

01:49:30   (bell dings)

01:49:31   - Ooh.

01:49:32   (audience applauds)

01:49:33   - Number seven answer.

01:49:35   Wow, Quinn.

01:49:37   We're running out of big cats here,

01:49:39   but there's still some probably.

01:49:41   - I'm trying to think of another cat I know.

01:49:43   - Gonna have to rush you, Quinn.

01:49:46   - I know, I know, okay.

01:49:47   - Plugged fast.

01:49:48   - Yeah, you have to talk to these people now.

01:49:51   You're live.

01:49:52   - Okay, snow tiger.

01:49:54   - Nobody's trying to give you more pressure.

01:49:55   - I don't, I can't think of anything.

01:49:56   - Snow tiger.

01:49:57   (audience laughing)

01:49:58   - Snow tiger.

01:49:59   - Show me the snow tiger.

01:50:01   (audience laughing)

01:50:02   (buzzer buzzing)

01:50:05   It could have been up there.

01:50:06   It totally could have been up there.

01:50:07   - I like that you were going with the,

01:50:08   I like it, right?

01:50:09   Like, we're just gonna keep adding snow to everything.

01:50:12   All right, Team Myke, get a chance to steal.

01:50:16   You get 83 points.

01:50:20   - Mavericks.

01:50:23   - All right, this is a bold strategy here.

01:50:28   We've seen nothing but cats up there.

01:50:29   There's only two left.

01:50:31   Show me Mavericks.

01:50:33   (bell dings)

01:50:34   Yeah!

01:50:35   (audience cheers)

01:50:36   Number five answer.

01:50:38   [applause]

01:50:40   And we have one more to reveal.

01:50:44   It is the cat that Quinn just couldn't quite think of.

01:50:47   [ding]

01:50:49   Leopard.

01:50:50   There's a lot of cats.

01:50:51   There's a lot of cats out there.

01:50:53   And that means, Myke, what's our final score?

01:50:55   - With 126 points is Team Myke.

01:50:59   And with--

01:51:01   [applause]

01:51:02   Yeah, give him a round of applause.

01:51:03   They still did it.

01:51:04   I'm proud of you.

01:51:08   with 287 points, the positive charges.

01:51:11   (audience applauding)

01:51:14   Alex Cox, Flo Ion, David Sparks, Quinn Rose,

01:51:17   you are the Relay FM Feud champions.

01:51:21   There are trophies.

01:51:22   You get a trophy just like mine, which is great.

01:51:26   - We're all nervous, you have to tell us what to do now.

01:51:29   - You had to sit there.

01:51:30   - Okay, thank you.

01:51:31   - For another minute,

01:51:32   while Steven Hackett brings you your trophies.

01:51:36   Take a look at what you've won.

01:51:39   These are beautiful gold trophies

01:51:42   of a microphone being held in a closed fist.

01:51:44   - And thank you to all of our Relay FM hosts

01:51:49   and contestants on the Relay FM Feud.

01:51:51   And thank you so much to Kathy Campbell

01:51:53   for compiling all of these questions and answers.

01:51:56   And to the more than 3,000 people who voted in the poll.

01:52:01   I hope all of us.

01:52:03   (audience cheering)

01:53:30   (video game music)

01:53:33   - Alright boys, we did it.

01:53:34   - We did it. - We sure did.

01:53:35   - We can hand out trophies.

01:53:36   - Let's give a hand for Jason Snell.

01:53:38   - Yeah.

01:53:39   (audience cheering)

01:53:42   You can go sit down now.

01:53:47   - I appreciate that.

01:53:49   - Thank you.

01:53:50   Goodbye, Jason. - Bye, Jason.

01:53:51   - Say goodbye to Jason Snell, everybody.

01:53:52   (audience cheering)

01:53:55   - We do have some more people to thank,

01:53:58   and we'll let you all get out of here.

01:54:00   People behind the scenes who made tonight possible,

01:54:03   including Kathy, Carrie, Spencer, and Brian,

01:54:05   thank you so much.

01:54:07   (audience applauds)

01:54:10   And the staff here at Broadway Studios

01:54:17   who made tonight possible, so helpful.

01:54:19   They're in the back, thank you so much.

01:54:21   - Really amazing.

01:54:22   (audience applauds)

01:54:22   The arrangement that we have on stage

01:54:25   with microphones and computers is probably the most complex.

01:54:29   So the fact that they just accepted it was wonderful.

01:54:32   But also, as always, thank you to Steven for all of the work

01:54:36   that he did, the diagrams he made to get all of this work

01:54:38   in. Bravo to you, sir.

01:54:40   [APPLAUSE]

01:54:49   There is one more thing to talk about.

01:54:51   You saw it because the clicker sucks.

01:54:53   Don't worry about it.

01:54:54   We're just going to move to this.

01:54:56   So you guys know the last several years, we have raised

01:54:59   for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis,

01:55:02   an institution that saved not only my kids' life,

01:55:05   but the life of thousands of kids around the world.

01:55:07   - Yep.

01:55:08   - And this year, to mark National Childhood

01:55:13   Cancer Awareness Month, that's really hard to say,

01:55:15   all in the right order.

01:55:16   - Which is September.

01:55:17   - Which is September.

01:55:19   We're gonna do what we've done in the past,

01:55:20   but to a much bigger level.

01:55:22   And so you may have guessed from that really fancy URL

01:55:25   that we are working in partnership with St. Jude.

01:55:27   Relay FM is actually St. Jude's first official podcast

01:55:31   partnership, so we're really excited to break that ground.

01:55:33   [APPLAUSE]

01:55:35   And this is because--

01:55:39   it's not just because of Steven's relationship

01:55:42   with the organization.

01:55:44   It is because of the huge amounts of money

01:55:47   that Relay FM listeners pledge every single year,

01:55:51   and the wider tech podcasting community as well.

01:55:54   Yeah, so last year we raised about $70,000

01:55:56   for the kids of St. Jude.

01:55:58   This year the goal is 75, and we're doing something

01:56:02   really unique to push us over the edge.

01:56:04   So on Friday, September 20th,

01:56:07   it's like three or four weeks from tomorrow,

01:56:10   Myke will be back in the States in Memphis,

01:56:12   and we are going to co-host

01:56:14   a six-hour live video podcast on Twitch.

01:56:19   (audience applauding)

01:56:22   (audience cheering)

01:56:25   Because this wasn't hard enough to do.

01:56:29   We're gonna do that in a month.

01:56:31   And so keeping out for that,

01:56:32   we're gonna be talking about as we get closer to it,

01:56:36   we're gonna do it on the campus of St. Jude,

01:56:38   which is really awesome.

01:56:39   We get to do a bunch of behind the scenes stuff

01:56:40   to talk about on that episode.

01:56:42   So keep that sort of open.

01:56:44   It's gonna be from four to 10 p.m. Eastern,

01:56:47   and whatever that is Pacific, I don't know.

01:56:49   - You can tune in whenever you want.

01:56:50   We're gonna be there all day, so.

01:56:51   - Yep, it's gonna be awesome.

01:56:52   - But you can give money now.

01:56:55   - Yes.

01:56:55   - You just should give money now.

01:56:57   Stjude.org/relay is where you can go.

01:57:00   Just give some money.

01:57:01   We'll be talking about it throughout all of September

01:57:03   on Relay FM shows and we have some other little things

01:57:05   that we'll be doing over the month.

01:57:07   But you can go now and we really appreciate

01:57:10   any money that you give.

01:57:11   - Yeah, it means the world to us, thank you.

01:57:12   - It really does.

01:57:13   (audience applauding)

01:57:17   (audience applauding)

01:57:20   We do have one more group to thank,

01:57:25   and it's you all.

01:57:26   The listeners that make Relay FM possible.

01:57:29   - Yep.

01:57:31   - Five years is a crazy number.

01:57:33   We're talking about this leading up to this show,

01:57:37   and we're so grateful and humbled

01:57:39   that you and everyone out there listening,

01:57:43   tune in, switch on, switch Relay FM on.

01:57:46   - .fm. - .fm.

01:57:49   Seriously, we are so thankful that y'all make,

01:57:54   like y'all are why Relay exists.

01:57:57   These hosts we get to work with,

01:57:59   with the listeners who tune in,

01:58:01   we're indebted to you in ways we can not describe.

01:58:03   So thank you.

01:58:04   Here it comes.

01:58:06   (audience applauding)

01:58:08   - I cried in San Jose,

01:58:10   so I'm gonna try and keep it together this time.

01:58:12   I just wanna do some personal thank yous.

01:58:16   I also just want to thank all of the hosts that we have as well.

01:58:19   Like, it's an incredible group of people that we're tremendously lucky to get to work with.

01:58:25   And then I wanted to do some personal thank yous of my own.

01:58:27   I want to thank you, Steven.

01:58:29   It was five years ago that we had this conversation and you took a gamble, I took a gamble, and

01:58:36   we did this.

01:58:37   And it has been an incredible journey and a wild ride so far.

01:58:43   We are best friends and we somehow managed to run a business together for this amount

01:58:50   of time about killing each other.

01:58:52   And that is mostly because of the man that you are.

01:58:54   So thank you for that.

01:58:56   That's very kind.

01:58:58   Are you…

01:59:00   I have one more.

01:59:02   Are you just saying this because I gave you a trophy?

01:59:04   No, I appreciate that.

01:59:05   That was good.

01:59:06   I also wanted to thank my wife, Adina.

01:59:10   And I decided that I wanted to do this.

01:59:13   I was really nervous about it.

01:59:14   I had no idea if I could run my own business,

01:59:18   could run my own podcast network,

01:59:21   and she gave me the strength and the confidence

01:59:24   to do that, and continues to.

01:59:26   And so without her, it wouldn't happen,

01:59:29   because she was the one that convinced me

01:59:31   to do it in the first place, so.

01:59:34   Thank you, Didi.

01:59:35   (audience applauding)

01:59:38   (audience applauding)

01:59:41   - Our wives are very forgiving.

01:59:47   - Yeah, very. - Very.

01:59:50   I think that's it.

01:59:52   You got anything else?

01:59:54   Just a single tear?

01:59:57   - I'm good, I'm keeping it together.

01:59:58   - Five tears, one for each ear?

02:00:00   (audience laughing)

02:00:01   - Steven's getting a matching tattoo with me.

02:00:04   That's something that's happening.

02:00:05   I have the five year artwork tattooed and Steven's getting it.

02:00:07   - You're not done yet.

02:00:08   - Can't wait.

02:00:09   - You're on thin ice.

02:00:10   - I'm saying it now 'cause you said you get the last one

02:00:11   and you didn't.

02:00:12   So now you have to.

02:00:15   - I think on that note we're gonna say goodbye.

02:00:16   (audience laughing)

02:00:18   - Goodbye on the line.

02:00:19   - See you all next time.

02:00:20   Thank you so much.

02:00:21   (audience cheering)
