Top Four 27: Girl Scout Cookies 🍪
◼
►
you go get some water it's paper towels
◼
►
what are you gonna do I'm gonna open the
◼
►
cookies Oh Oh grab the ones from the
◼
►
fridge to cold ones open here I'm gonna
◼
►
rip these boxes and it's gonna be a
◼
►
never gonna close them again there's a
◼
►
lot of boxes and it's gonna be a while
◼
►
no I just try not to paper cut myself
◼
►
which I already did that's also a good
◼
►
reason to be careful open here
◼
►
sounds gluten-free but it's gonna rip a
◼
►
little tabby tab up there it goes it's
◼
►
over that one's still opening but we are
◼
►
back to our usual antics at top 4 where
◼
►
we eat a whole bunch of garbage for you
◼
►
the people to experience what is the
◼
►
best garbage to eat so you don't have to
◼
►
waste your own calories we are getting
◼
►
fat for science that's it that's our
◼
►
excuse at least so this time we are in
◼
►
case you haven't figured out yet
◼
►
this time we are testing all of the
◼
►
varieties in the u.s. at least I don't
◼
►
know if they're different anywhere else
◼
►
of Girl Scout cookies because it is Girl
◼
►
Scout cookie season Girl Scouts a us
◼
►
I think there's Girl Scouts other places
◼
►
they might be called different things
◼
►
but we have girls who join an
◼
►
organization to better themselves and
◼
►
their communities and learn leadership
◼
►
skills and sell cookies for good causes
◼
►
yeah the cookies I believe are the large
◼
►
fundraising portion of it
◼
►
yes and it also teaches girls a whole
◼
►
bunch of skills which are listed on the
◼
►
box as goal-setting decision-making
◼
►
money management people skills and
◼
►
business ethics cool yeah which results
◼
►
in you know roughly in in the late
◼
►
winter time around here at least some
◼
►
young girl usually accompanied by a
◼
►
parent or guardian knocks on your door
◼
►
ask you wanna buy Girl Scout cookies and
◼
►
the correct answer is always yes the
◼
►
only question is how many and which ones
◼
►
and this year Marco was left alone
◼
►
there's a that's starting to sound bad
◼
►
anyway Marco was here without my
◼
►
when the girl-scout arrived and ended up
◼
►
ordering ten boxes of cookies well
◼
►
here's what happened tiff told me hey I
◼
►
think she's gonna come by today I'm not
◼
►
gonna be here so just order what we like
◼
►
so I ordered what we like and I also
◼
►
whenever I go I I'm the primary grocery
◼
►
shopper of the family and we never buy
◼
►
cookies by the way we never buys like
◼
►
stop store I can't store is the word yes
◼
►
we never buy store-bought cookies okay I
◼
►
was trying to I was fighting the long
◼
►
island hard with that one it's - I
◼
►
bought I mean come on yeah right
◼
►
so I whenever I am shopping for food or
◼
►
selecting food I always take a couple of
◼
►
risks on new things and that's how we
◼
►
discover things that we like and so the
◼
►
combination of tip saying get what we
◼
►
like and also my my constant policy of
◼
►
just trying new things when I'm shopping
◼
►
for food I got to each of the flavors we
◼
►
liked and I got one box each of a few
◼
►
new flavors and that quickly adds up to
◼
►
10 boxes which I was made fun of
◼
►
relentlessly by my wonderful wife here
◼
►
for four weeks until the order arrived
◼
►
and still now since the order has
◼
►
arrived but you know the other reason to
◼
►
over buy them is that usually you only
◼
►
really get the chance to buy them once a
◼
►
year and it's kind of funny for us to do
◼
►
the show reviewing them all as a service
◼
►
to you the listener right after you can
◼
►
probably buy them so sorry about that
◼
►
refer back to the episode next next
◼
►
early spring when you can actually order
◼
►
them yeah but we are still doing the
◼
►
grunt work here for you the people
◼
►
because we are so giving in that way
◼
►
anyway so we have before us eight boxes
◼
►
of different varieties that we have
◼
►
available to us here in New York because
◼
►
I after the order of 10 boxes went
◼
►
through I called up our Girl Scout and
◼
►
was like give me one more of every
◼
►
single box so that we can test it and so
◼
►
here we are we are also testing a couple
◼
►
of the chocolate varieties in their cold
◼
►
state in addition to their warm state
◼
►
because they are sometimes way better
◼
►
cold and we just wanted to tell you and
◼
►
so we will test them and then rank them
◼
►
yeah so first up let's see what are we
◼
►
gonna try first we should try and do
◼
►
you most bland first well maybe most
◼
►
popular first because the popular ones
◼
►
are gonna be least surprising to people
◼
►
because most people have had them before
◼
►
and have already formed their opinions
◼
►
so maybe popular first and then new and
◼
►
more rare flavors the end well but they
◼
►
get they get more complicated so like I
◼
►
think for palate purposes ok for palate
◼
►
purposes we should start off with like
◼
►
the trifles as the tri foil tri foils
◼
►
but isn't that supposed to be three
◼
►
layers isn't that what a tri trifle is I
◼
►
think it's true foil or something and I
◼
►
believe that's a shape Oh anyway so
◼
►
let's start out with those because I
◼
►
believe their basic butter cookies let
◼
►
me grab that box it is blue it's
◼
►
shortbread right yeah traditional
◼
►
shortbread cookies so take your
◼
►
shortbread we're not gonna feel well
◼
►
after this but I think we've eaten whig
◼
►
worse things and felt more sick you
◼
►
fight enough on the open one I opened it
◼
►
far enough for myself like a millimeter
◼
►
to get one cookie out so I couldn't get
◼
►
the one behind it let's see and this is
◼
►
the basic shortbread cookie basic basic
◼
►
sure friend oh i the whole thing
◼
►
I am planning ahead and I can quickly a
◼
►
bite yeah I can't keep up this pace
◼
►
because I know how I'm going to feel in
◼
►
20 minutes if I eat the whole thing so I
◼
►
really enjoy the trefoil this is it it's
◼
►
one of those things look like the basic
◼
►
shortbread cookie I think most people
◼
►
don't give it a lot of credit it has a
◼
►
Girl Scout insignia on it yeah like it's
◼
►
a basic cookie but I really like basic
◼
►
cookies done well and that's what this
◼
►
is it's a basic you know butter
◼
►
shortbread cookie done really well and I
◼
►
appreciate that it's nothing like it
◼
►
like I'm not gonna like remember it
◼
►
tomorrow you know but but at the time
◼
►
I'm eating it I find it quite pleasant
◼
►
but it's really good if you have it with
◼
►
like coffee or tea or something like
◼
►
that yeah because it isn't a very strong
◼
►
flavor it isn't like it's very much like
◼
►
a tea biscuit is that what that means I
◼
►
don't know I'm just guessing
◼
►
okay sorry Mike all right so we will ask
◼
►
the British after this or they will tell
◼
►
us rather well they don't have Girl
◼
►
Scout cookies but I guess when we show
◼
►
the pictures will let's see yeah goes on
◼
►
alright so next in the basic category we
◼
►
have let's see the lemon ones maybe
◼
►
yeah we have the toffee tastic
◼
►
or the Savannah Smiles let's do toffee
◼
►
tastic first cuz the lemon might affect
◼
►
our palate slightly more okay this is a
◼
►
rich buttery cookie with sweet chunky
◼
►
toffee bits and I believe that is the
◼
►
gluten free option isn't it it is gluten
◼
►
for yes yeah so that's probably a fairly
◼
►
new option before they just motto out
◼
►
these are pretty thick you want to share
◼
►
one well yeah I have two to try them at
◼
►
the same time okay cuz I mean the
◼
►
crunching is the best part of the audio
◼
►
here isn't it I need to teach you how to
◼
►
open the plastic tube wrap the way to
◼
►
open it is not to just open the end it's
◼
►
to tear a line so I can get my own
◼
►
cookie out rather than just having your
◼
►
cookie be able to come out and having no
◼
►
other access to the other ones all right
◼
►
so far the box is my favorite color so
◼
►
and we both love toffee
◼
►
yeah so it's teal box toffee cookies
◼
►
let's see how these go I sprayed cookie
◼
►
crumbs all over the office so when the
◼
►
answer here in a few days like I can
◼
►
blame you look at below your chair
◼
►
there's cookie crumbs hops come here boo
◼
►
okay these are really good yeah the only
◼
►
thing is that they they're a little hard
◼
►
to chew cuz the toffee is so firm and
◼
►
sticky you kind of get stuck in your
◼
►
teeth oh but I like it cuz now it's
◼
►
melting in my teeth and it's tasting
◼
►
really good the other thing is that they
◼
►
they're they're very thick cookie and I
◼
►
would say maybe a little dry I like I
◼
►
don't know this is the result of
◼
►
whatever alternative to gluten they have
◼
►
used here or what but they are they are
◼
►
very thick crumbly dry cookie with these
◼
►
big sticky bits in them so the flavor I
◼
►
find good but the mechanics
◼
►
I guess the construction it's a little
◼
►
bit a little bit hard to get through
◼
►
well the toffee tastic have definitely
◼
►
moved up the list over the trifles for
◼
►
me so trip oils your Falls yeah I don't
◼
►
know how to pronounce it but I know it's
◼
►
not trifles that's one thing I can be
◼
►
sure of all right so we are two cookies
◼
►
in and I am covered in crumbs because I
◼
►
am a monster this is going to be a day a
◼
►
dog and the vacuum cleaner just keep
◼
►
them away from the chocolate okay next
◼
►
to the Savannah Smiles which are these
◼
►
like lemon dusted white cookies room
◼
►
crisp zesty lemon wedge cookies dusted
◼
►
with powdered sugar I can't believe you
◼
►
didn't order the toffee tastic ones for
◼
►
ourselves we only have one box of these
◼
►
for testing but okay now on to the
◼
►
Savannah smile oh those are lemony and
◼
►
delicious I'm a big fan of Savannah
◼
►
Smiles mm-hmm like I liked them before
◼
►
this I like them now so it's you know
◼
►
it's a it's a lemon crunchy cookie
◼
►
covered in powdered sugar there's not
◼
►
much you can do wrong there it is amping
◼
►
up the delicious here because like each
◼
►
one is better than the last one yeah I
◼
►
I'm a big fan of Savannah Smiles it is
◼
►
there light inside like it's it's not
◼
►
like a thick consistency it's a light
◼
►
crunchy inner cookie with just the right
◼
►
amount of lemon on the outside that it
◼
►
you get the nice lemon tartness but it's
◼
►
not overpowering like you know like like
◼
►
if I if I leave you to make a lemon
◼
►
sauce unattended you will you will put
◼
►
like six lemons in enough sauce to cover
◼
►
like one small salad yeah don't leave me
◼
►
alone with a lemon sauce no like I can't
◼
►
trust you with with the bounds cuz you
◼
►
like lemon more than most people these I
◼
►
feel like have a perfect balance of like
◼
►
how much lemon that you actually get in
◼
►
all right next up the food chain here we
◼
►
have the DOS Eidos which is a crunchy
◼
►
oatmeal sandwich cookie with creamy
◼
►
peanut butter filling one of two
◼
►
peanutbutter options in the Girl Scout
◼
►
lineup the other being the Tagalog I'm
◼
►
taking the top cookie so I have an
◼
►
advantage yeah it's a tough cookie
◼
►
advantage all right so these are smaller
◼
►
than I expected but I guess you don't
◼
►
okay we're stepping back we're stepping
◼
►
back to the delicious like from the
◼
►
delicious precipice that we were on
◼
►
there they're good yeah these are really
◼
►
good but I would say they don't really
◼
►
stand out like I'm a huge fan of peanut
◼
►
butter flavored desserts so I do have a
◼
►
bit of a bias towards this but it is
◼
►
really really good but it's it's kind of
◼
►
like the the trefoil which is like it's
◼
►
a really good implementation of a fairly
◼
►
cookie it's not it's there's nothing new
◼
►
here I mean like I'm so far liking these
◼
►
variety of plain butter cookies they are
◼
►
easy to eat with like a tea or coffee
◼
►
they're nice to put out if you're an old
◼
►
woman like I am put out for who I don't
◼
►
know the mailman I don't know
◼
►
I'm getting lost okay I'm better with
◼
►
focusing on opening and eating from
◼
►
these boxes all right next up we have
◼
►
the Girl Scout s'mores cookies I are
◼
►
these new or new ish because I they're
◼
►
new ish they have a very potent smell as
◼
►
soon as you open them moments like um
◼
►
maple syrup II almost but they're
◼
►
s'mores so they are Oh see now you're
◼
►
leaving me with second cookie grabbing
◼
►
there's two rows you can get to yours
◼
►
just as easily these are crunchy graham
◼
►
sandwich cookies with creamy chocolate
◼
►
and marshmallow filling yeah that's a
◼
►
grandma or it's a s'more all right I
◼
►
don't really like these no there's they
◼
►
have a bit of an odd flavor it have like
◼
►
a chemical taste to them yeah like I
◼
►
think your identification of the smell
◼
►
is almost mapley mm-hmm is is right they
◼
►
don't taste like like marshmallow and
◼
►
chocolate it tastes like something else
◼
►
like it is kind of a weird like
◼
►
sweetener like they it like they've used
◼
►
the wrong kind of sweetener for this
◼
►
flavor profile like it tastes a little
◼
►
bit like maybe maybe what we're
◼
►
detecting is like the the what's
◼
►
supposed to be the honey flavoring of
◼
►
the graham crackers that are their
◼
►
sandwich in it here but it doesn't work
◼
►
whatever it is it doesn't work it's it's
◼
►
not a good balance and yeah not a fan no
◼
►
I took one bite of those and I do not
◼
►
want another bite so now II yeah that's
◼
►
why you only take one bite well I'm glad
◼
►
you only bought one box of these says
◼
►
yes all right let's take this halfway
◼
►
point to thank our sponsor this week we
◼
►
are brought to you this week by blue
◼
►
apron the number one recipe delivery
◼
►

◼
►

►

►

◼
►

◼
►
Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch
◼
►
their beef chicken and pork come from
◼
►
responsibly raised animals and their
◼
►
produce a source from farms that
◼
►
practice regenerative farming so each
◼
►
Bluebird meal comes with a step-by-step
◼
►
easy to follow a recipe card and
◼
►
pre-portioned ingredients that are
◼
►
exactly as much as you need and these
◼
►
meals can be prepared in 40 minutes or
◼
►
less even me I'm a very very slow like
◼
►
prep cook it takes me forever at chop
◼
►
stuff I actually do do most of them in
◼
►
about 45 to 45 minutes to an hour and so
◼
►
for me that's pretty good we've had blue
◼
►
apron for over a year now what about a
◼
►
year and a half or so yeah probably
◼
►
I think longer because our recipe stack
◼
►
is about a mile high we keep all the cut
◼
►
all the recipe cards for like for future
◼
►
reference and we have we have remade
◼
►
some sometimes and we have a lot of them
◼
►
now because and they don't they don't
◼
►
repeat recipes within a year and even
◼
►
even when they come back after a year
◼
►
usually they're tweaked a little bit
◼
►
like there's there something new about
◼
►
them so we are big fans at Blue Haven
◼
►
we've been doing it for this long before
◼
►
they were a sponsor of our shows and it
◼
►
really has made us better cooks we are
◼
►
huge fans and we we now are comfortable
◼
►
when it's not blue apron night we are
◼
►
now much more comfortable cooking a such
◼
►
a wider variety of ingredients and
◼
►
eating a wider variety of things at
◼
►
restaurants because we've we've kind of
◼
►
like been forcibly introduced to them by
◼
►
blue apron and then just really enjoyed
◼
►
them even out at a new restaurant the
◼
►
other day and we were like actually our
◼
►
blue apron food is way better yeah like
◼
►
we were like they did a few dishes at
◼
►
this not that great restaurant that they
◼
►
did a few dishes that we have cooked
◼
►
very similar things by blue apron and
◼
►
we're like oh yeah we know how to do
◼
►
this and we did it better with so anyway
◼
►
we are big big fans of blue apron we
◼
►
highly suggest that you check them out
◼
►
they delivered to 99 percent of a
◼
►
continental US there's no weekly
◼
►

◼
►

◼
►
problem with that you don't pay for or
◼
►
anything like that and their freshness
◼
►

◼
►

◼
►

◼
►

◼
►
visit blue apron comm / top for today
◼
►
and thank you very much to blue apron
◼
►
for this for their support of this show
◼
►
and all of real afm blue apron a better
◼
►
way to cook alright so we are 5 cookies
◼
►
in we have what about 3 more actually
◼
►
3 more types but two of them we have
◼
►
cold and not cold and room temperature
◼
►
yeah okay you're closer to the open cold
◼
►
Tagalongs actually I'm gonna say right
◼
►
now for the sake of radio time because
◼
►
that's a we're on we're on a radio time
◼
►
anyway what is happening to me we know
◼
►
what these taste like warm and they are
◼
►
good but not as good as they are cold so
◼
►
I'm just gonna skip right to a cold yeah
◼
►
I think I agree with that statement and
◼
►
I would I would almost say the exaction
◼
►
thing about Thin Mints that's true I
◼
►
don't think we need to try
◼
►
room-temperature Thin Mints we we just
◼
►
had them like a few days ago I just
◼
►
opened it so it's open already I'll put
◼
►
in the fridge all right so so tag-along
◼
►
this is a a peanut butter layer on top
◼
►
of a shortbread cookie you have a box
◼
►
over there read that I am back Bob well
◼
►
it's it's it's peanut butter on top of
◼
►
shortbread wrapped in chocolate nice and
◼
►
easy you're not gonna read the box
◼
►
continuity man either so good I love
◼
►
these so much the peanut butter is so
◼
►
right it's almost like a Reese's peanut
◼
►
butter situation a little bit like a
◼
►
schmear and dipped in chocolate yeah and
◼
►
you get the nice crunch from the cookie
◼
►
in the middle and the cookies not too
◼
►
thick and the chocolate isn't too thick
◼
►
and the chocolates kind of creamy that's
◼
►
why they're better cold mm-hmm yeah I
◼
►
would say you nailed it with like the
◼
►
ratios are just really right with this
◼
►
like each each one of the ingredients is
◼
►
good you know it's I don't think I need
◼
►
them are like gonna blow you away like I
◼
►
accidentally ate the whole thing
◼
►
not not an accident I bet yeah yeah I
◼
►
I'm a huge fan of Tagalongs again my
◼
►
preference for peanut butter starts
◼
►
there a little bit here but big fan and
◼
►
that has not changed in this comparison
◼
►
so I think we should move on to Samoas
◼
►
cult echelons I would say Samoas and
◼
►
Thin Mints are probably the two most
◼
►
popular or at least most famous ones
◼
►
what do you say yeah I think so
◼
►
and they're the ones like they're so
◼
►
popular that you can get like flavors of
◼
►
ice cream and stuff that are like
◼
►
officially licensed flavored like these
◼
►
things okay so up until recently I
◼
►
thought I did not like coconut but turns
◼
►
out I do so all of you out there who
◼
►
think you don't like coconut should
◼
►
probably try these cookies anyway
◼
►
because you might have changed your mind
◼
►
with your coconut like egde yeah I feel
◼
►
like Samoas have to be like the Gateway
◼
►
to liking coconut and candy for a lot of
◼
►
people because I I don't like coconut in
◼
►
most candy like the way did you like to
◼
►
shave like or like the you know just
◼
►
like shredded coconut like I don't like
◼
►
a mounds bar or I'm enjoy bar like I
◼
►
that's too much for me I don't like
◼
►
coconut macaroons whatever those are
◼
►
they're not real macaroons and they
◼
►
shouldn't have the same name I really
◼
►
don't like those two different oh
◼
►
there's a different amount of OHS yeah
◼
►
it's basically the same name I mean yes
◼
►
they're it's one letter different but
◼
►
anyway Asamoah is a crisp cookie coated
◼
►
sprinkled with toasted coconut and
◼
►
striped with dark chocolate coating yeah
◼
►
I mean chances are if you've ever had a
◼
►
Girl Scout cookie there's a very good
◼
►
chance it was this one it looks kind of
◼
►
it's like ring shaped all right let's
◼
►
give us a shot these make you feel like
◼
►
you're eating something healthy because
◼
►
of the coconut good present at all and
◼
►
these two I as a big fan of refrigerated
◼
►
I have tried refrigerator Muse in the
◼
►
past but I feel like it makes everything
◼
►
too hard like it makes the the caramel
◼
►
layer really hardens up and yeah yeah
◼
►
you need that you need to keep the
◼
►
caramel soft caramel caramel whatever
◼
►
caramel yeah and the only downside I
◼
►
would say to these besides the fact that
◼
►
it's way too easy to eat way too many of
◼
►
them the only downside is that the
◼
►
coconut gets stuck at my teeth for a
◼
►
long time afterwards like it'll be like
◼
►
15 minutes later and I'll like find a
◼
►
piece of coconut my mouth still so
◼
►
that's that's kind of not great but
◼
►
otherwise big fan you have quite the
◼
►
line up there of half-eaten cookies I do
◼
►
not have the amount of discipline you do
◼
►
and I keep accidentally finishing my
◼
►
cookie well they also they they keep
◼
►
reminding me like which ones we've had
◼
►
I'm gonna refer to yours in which order
◼
►
because my mine is that mine's just a
◼
►
pile of crumbs right now oh man yeah
◼
►
hops is going to have a
◼
►
good afternoon oh he's gotta keep away
◼
►
from the chocolate yeah all right okay
◼
►
and last we have the Thin Mints these if
◼
►
I had to guess oh man I did open this
◼
►
like a jerk if I had to guess which one
◼
►
flavor of girls canoes was most popular
◼
►
I bet it's Thin Mints Colton Merrick
◼
►
Colton mint fridge temperature not free
◼
►
to temperature but fridge temperature
◼
►
though I'm getting a warm thinman I want
◼
►
to compare do you wanna compare no I
◼
►
don't need to fine they're better cold
◼
►
back in the box so refreshing that's a
◼
►
good closer yeah I'm glad we saved it
◼
►
for last for the fina cuz mint really
◼
►
has like a kind of you know dessert last
◼
►
thing you eat kind of attribute yeah
◼
►
they're really good I am NOT as obsessed
◼
►
with them as many people are I find them
◼
►
to be very good Mint cookies but I I'm
◼
►
not like totally obsessed with mint
◼
►
flavor I like it but I I don't like need
◼
►
to have it all the time so I find these
◼
►
to me similar to like the basic try foil
◼
►
or the whatever the the peanut butter
◼
►
sandwich one was called with that dosey
◼
►
doe yeah it's is it like it's a really
◼
►
good implementation of a fairly basic
◼
►
concept so I like it but I'm not
◼
►
obsessed with it well but nothing else
◼
►
really tastes like a thin mint right
◼
►
like Thin Mint cookies have their own
◼
►
unique taste I don't really know
◼
►
anything else that tastes a lot like it
◼
►
and I know that things have tried to
◼
►
taste like it and then called themselves
◼
►
like you know Thin Mint style or
◼
►
whatever yeah but yeah alright maybe I
◼
►
mean that might be so I don't know I
◼
►
understand why people love them so much
◼
►
but I would rather have like one of the
◼
►
peanut butter ones or the lemon ones I
◼
►
think okay are you ready to rank it says
◼
►
this is actually a little bit hard in
◼
►
some of the details but I think so I'm
◼
►
really confused okay so I had the fridge
◼
►
and non fridge thinman
◼
►
and because of the amount of time that
◼
►
the fridge ones have been out of the
◼
►
fridge there was not that much
◼
►
difference like 15 minutes yeah but I
◼
►
think they are much better cold yeah I
◼
►
would even I'd be willing to try them in
◼
►
the even in the freezer to get them even
◼
►
colder to see if that matters yeah
◼
►
that'd probably be really good the thing
◼
►
is like because it's it's just a very
◼
►
of of chocolate wrapped around what is
◼
►
basically a chocolate mint cookie mm-hmm
◼
►
and so there's naming mint cookie
◼
►
yeah and Thin Mints ha ha and so there's
◼
►
nothing in there that would get like
◼
►
weirdly hard if you froze it like like
◼
►
the way like I said with Samoa is that
◼
►
like the camel gets too hard you can't
◼
►
really freeze Samoas but but Thin Mints
◼
►
I feel like because there's nothing in
◼
►
there that gets worse if it gets really
◼
►
cold we see wafers covered in chocolaty
◼
►
coating made with natural oil of
◼
►
peppermint alright so I I don't even
◼
►
number four yet I'd rather start with
◼
►
number one and count down okay I think
◼
►
that might be easier so my number one no
◼
►
question is the tag along the peanut
◼
►
butter and cookie wrapped in chocolate
◼
►
Wow that is I just I love it that is the
◼
►
one that if I'm left alone with an
◼
►
assortment of Girl Scout cookies that's
◼
►
the one that I will shamefully eat the
◼
►
most of the fastest hmm I'm so torn
◼
►
between my number ones being Tagalongs
◼
►
or the Savannah Smiles the lemon one see
◼
►
actually that might be my number two I
◼
►
really like them a lot well cuz like
◼
►
Tagalongs are so heavy but they're
◼
►
really good yeah because the ratio is
◼
►
just right on and one of my favorite
◼
►
cookies in the entire world are oh my
◼
►
brain stopping Mariners yes mallomars
◼
►
I'm the shopper in the family I know
◼
►
everything that you like they're only
◼
►
seasonal very much like Girl Scout
◼
►
cookies because they melt so easily
◼
►
during shipment that they can only
◼
►
really be out in the wintertime so yeah
◼
►
with oh my gosh mallomars focus it's
◼
►
similar with like chocolate with a
◼
►
layered cookie situation inside that one
◼
►
is with marshmallow and cookie and
◼
►
chocolate and this is with the peanut
◼
►
butter cookie and chocolates
◼
►
I don't like peanut butter oh my gosh
◼
►
like why is this matter all of a sudden
◼
►
so much okay turns out peanut butter is
◼
►
tagalogs yeah I think they might be my
◼
►
oh no wait don't wait the lemon water do
◼
►
you know the lemon ones are easier to
◼
►
no they are because they don't feel as
◼
►
guilty but they don't make me as guilty
◼
►
sure but they are simpler so and there
◼
►
there's no other thing like a tag-along
◼
►
but there are things like those lemon
◼
►
cookies okay tagalog number one we agree
◼
►
on our number one we agree has that ever
◼
►
happened before I don't know I don't
◼
►
think so we we don't have archives I
◼
►
mean we do but you don't listen to work
◼
►
like this okay yeah I don't know if the
◼
►
Technic before all right mark it down
◼
►
underscore David Smith alright so number
◼
►
one on to both of us is tag-along
◼
►
number two we might even agree number
◼
►
two I because I would say number two is
◼
►
lemon ones the smiles yep because I had
◼
►
that long debate it has to be number two
◼
►
that's pretty good okay number two okay
◼
►
I mean I can't believe it it's awesome
◼
►
it'll make it will certainly make a
◼
►
future shopping easier yep yep cuz uh
◼
►
yeah alright so number three see this is
◼
►
where I think we're gonna diverge a
◼
►
little bit I would say it's it's a tough
◼
►
I like well done simple things and so
◼
►
I'm actually thinking for my number
◼
►
three I'm deciding between the peanut
◼
►
butter sandwich what is it called again
◼
►
I keep forgetting the that's it I'm
◼
►
deciding between the dosey doe and the
◼
►
trefoil for my number three Wow because
◼
►
again like the truffle oil it's that the
◼
►
basic shortbread cookie but I like
◼
►
simple things done well yeah woods right
◼
►
now because you're not going in that
◼
►
direction at all yeah and like the Samoa
◼
►
is a great flavor but it's a little bit
◼
►
like the coconut is like a little heavy
◼
►
for me like it cuz I because I don't I
◼
►
don't like coconut that much I like it
◼
►
basically only in Samoas more like in
◼
►
other forms like I like coconut milk in
◼
►
like you know in dinners and stuff of
◼
►
that but like shredded candied coconut I
◼
►
don't like very okay but wait we are
◼
►
judging Girl Scout cookies here you're
◼
►
talking about the things that you like
◼
►
in Girl Scout cookies now if you could
◼
►
get something that's like the dosey doe
◼
►
why would you buy it in the Girl Scout
◼
►
cookie form if you can't get something
◼
►
that's like a Samoa normally out in the
◼
►
grocery store hmm that's a good question
◼
►
this is what we're judging we're judging
◼
►
scout cookie that's it that's it that's
◼
►
a tough yeah you're right okay so if I
◼
►
so so the I'm gonna say you know right
◼
►
now the the s'mores one is out and the
◼
►
toffee gluten-free one is out I don't
◼
►
like that I was almost a contender for
◼
►
me but because of what I just said I
◼
►
eliminated it for myself I it again just
◼
►
in case one two and the some and and the
◼
►
Thin Mint for me I think is also out
◼
►
because just because I don't I don't I'm
◼
►
not that big of a fan of mint like again
◼
►
I look I know why people love them and I
◼
►
like them I think they're good but I'm
◼
►
not obsessed with them so if Goodman I
◼
►
don't think is gonna is gonna make my
◼
►
top four just because there's so many
◼
►
other ones I like better so for me it
◼
►
the you know number one number two were
◼
►
set the main things I need to figure out
◼
►
are between Samoa dosey doe and trefoil
◼
►
how does that go two three and four I'm
◼
►
actually going to put trefoil as number
◼
►
three because it is because I already
◼
►
have my peanut butter roll filled at the
◼
►
top and I know I know myself wants to
◼
►
know like if these were all out on a
◼
►
table what would I actually eat and I
◼
►
really do like truffles they're really
◼
►
good basic butter cookies yes you can
◼
►
get those anywhere but these are really
◼
►
good and I like them so that's my number
◼
►
three all right I think I will listen to
◼
►
my impassioned speech about Girl Scout
◼
►
cookies and I'm gonna pick the Samoa as
◼
►
my number three because I really don't
◼
►
like that combination in anything else
◼
►
besides the Samoa so when it shows up
◼
►
it's nice to get a special box you don't
◼
►
have to get 20 boxes of them if you
◼
►
don't want to it's just nice to have the
◼
►
little tree of something different and
◼
►
something to look forward to during Girl
◼
►
Scout season so Simo is my number three
◼
►
did you say your number four yet not yet
◼
►
that's the meteor okay let's go might be
◼
►
you might be swimming me to change my
◼
►
mind on number three yeah because I mean
◼
►
honestly dude like I can get butter
◼
►
cookies elsewhere I can get cookie you
◼
►
know right again I mean yes you could
◼
►
say that the same thing about the lemon
◼
►
cookies but this particular lemon cookie
◼
►
for those of you out there not eating
◼
►
these right now it is a lot better and
◼
►
has that much sharper lemon taste than
◼
►
most cookies that are advertised to be
◼
►
lemony so that's why they made it up
◼
►
powdered sugar the size is really good
◼
►
that's why there deserve at number twos
◼
►
I think you've convinced me oh because
◼
►
the Samoa is because you can't get that
◼
►
so I'm gonna revive my number three my
◼
►
number three is now Samoa so we are
◼
►
actually now an agreement on the top
◼
►
three because you're right the other
◼
►
ones are great cookies but you don't
◼
►
need to get them in Girl Scout cookies
◼
►
like you can get them year-round and you
◼
►
know a short the shortbread is really
◼
►
good but like show up and gift baskets
◼
►
right likes like so we're like the Royal
◼
►
dongs butter cookies that I like so much
◼
►
yep but no sir you know also seasonal
◼
►
but yeah super boring
◼
►
there's no way to rank those they all
◼
►
taste the same they do not all taste the
◼
►
they know the pretzel ones are the best
◼
►
oh oh yeah wait are we is that gonna you
◼
►
know that the swirly ones are the second
◼
►
okay don't don't dump the gun here we
◼
►
could put that on the list and have an
◼
►
entire show about it alright and then
◼
►
you can have your platform and you can
◼
►
talk about your crazy cookies and how
◼
►
they all taste so different and you
◼
►
would rank all of them as number four
◼
►
let's not spoil it for our audience here
◼
►
they like to you know okay alright so
◼
►
number one two and three we read on and
◼
►
tag along Savannah Smiles and Samoa is
◼
►
number four what do you think you're
◼
►
number four is my number four is again
◼
►
for the exact same reason why the Samoa
◼
►
is made it up there it's going to be the
◼
►
cold Thin Mint there's nothing else that
◼
►
tastes like a thin mint out there there
◼
►
are plenty of mint cookies there plenty
◼
►
of mint candies those actually those
◼
►
little those mint wafer candies that
◼
►
have like the creamy mint inside with
◼
►
the light coating of chocolate that you
◼
►
get them in the big long skinny box and
◼
►
no not Andes mints those have green oh
◼
►
and they're square I mean come on look I
◼
►
get your men straight okay
◼
►
they are rectangular I apologize to all
◼
►
of you shape enthusiasts because now we
◼
►
just lost the shape it's there they go
◼
►
out the window I'm getting giddy alright
◼
►
okay yeah so I'm going with the Thin
◼
►
Mints because like I said there are
◼
►
cookie like this there are a lot of
◼
►
different kind of candies that are like
◼
►
this with a creamy Center but in a
◼
►
so then mint you are number four it's so
◼
►
good it's a thin mint I'm really tempted
◼
►
to agree with you for that for the same
◼
►
reasons that doesn't really like well I
◼
►
won number one come on but we're all I
◼
►
think I'm gonna agree they met number
◼
►
four I think we actually for the first
◼
►
time ever we have the same top four
◼
►
ranking because for the same reason of
◼
►
like you know the other ones are great
◼
►
but you can get them anywhere you like
◼
►
you can get you like my other my other
◼
►
two for contention for number four or
◼
►
the trefoil and the dosey doe and they
◼
►
are great I really enjoy eating them but
◼
►
if I'm if I'm ordering Girl Scout
◼
►
cookies those wouldn't be as high of a
◼
►
priority because I really well I you
◼
►
know you can't get Thin Mints anywhere
◼
►
else you have to get them here and if
◼
►
you want that flavor you have to order
◼
►
so like if I was ordering only four
◼
►
types of Girl Scout cookies it would be
◼
►
these four yep yes that's awesome well I
◼
►
want to put in an honorable mention for
◼
►
the toffee tastic because I really did
◼
►
like them it almost broke into the into
◼
►
the ranks but it is a more typical
◼
►
cookie that you could find a toffee bit
◼
►
cookie in a lot of different places yeah
◼
►
so that's the only reason it fell out of
◼
►
the rank for me but here there we are
◼
►
because so we have the Tagalongs as our
◼
►
number one the Savannah Smiles as number
◼
►
two the Samoas as our number three and
◼
►
thin mints as our number four
◼
►
look how sharing we are teamwork yeah
◼
►
you know I actually feel pretty good
◼
►
like after all of our other you know
◼
►
gluttony episodes I always feel really
◼
►
bad because like like the Starbucks one
◼
►
what's the worst like that like because
◼
►
the combination of all that milk and
◼
►
sugar and caffeine oh that one made me
◼
►
feel so sick I felt wiry by far the
◼
►
worst fr Starbucks second worst we can
◼
►
write these second worst after Dunkin
◼
►
what if our eating episodes how worse
◼
►
jellybeans I actually felt okay I think
◼
►
or at least less horrible and this I
◼
►
felt the best that's good that's good
◼
►
well you definitely ate less cookie than
◼
►
I did because I'm a monster and I would
◼
►
like to give a special shout-out to our
◼
►
Girl Scout Orly for coming by and
◼
►
selling us all of these amazing cookies
◼
►
and making this show possible
◼
►
you're the best okay now you just talk
◼
►
normal okay you don't need to say test
◼
►
tests all the time yeah okay that's
◼
►
gonna be your first one haha okay that
◼
►
one I think is the dosey doe peanut
◼
►
butter mm-hmm what do you think of that
◼
►
one that's my favorite so far
◼
►
your first one is your favorite okay
◼
►
this one's mint so you might want to
◼
►
save that one for last I want you to eat
◼
►
okay guys try that one I love chocolate
◼
►
that's the tag-along chocolate peanut
◼
►
butter yeah you tried a lot of stuff at
◼
►
poppy and Gigi's house didn't you I
◼
►
didn't know they had Girl Scout cookies
◼
►
that one has marshmallow in it mm-hmm
◼
►
how's that one taste yeah yeah they're
◼
►
gonna try that one next go man try foil
◼
►
yeah was that one really good yeah you
◼
►
look Joe you like yeah you jump for that
◼
►
the lemon one dead has powdered sugar
◼
►
outside the smiles how's that so far
◼
►
your review is yum-yum-yum
◼
►
all right that one's toffee bits for the
◼
►
listener he's taking a bite of all the
◼
►
cookies first how do you how do you like
◼
►
give it a try good for trying
◼
►
I do like yeah that's my best one all
◼
►
these and not all these these are my
◼
►
not that one busy just taste it I get
◼
►
away do you want to try the mint one
◼
►
just just as a try no okay so tell me
◼
►
which one's your number one favorite
◼
►
lemon oh those two so the smiles and the
◼
►
so lemon and peanut butter okay what's
◼
►
your what's your number three favorite
◼
►
we'll say that's one and two oh and next
◼
►
are the DOS Eidos and the Samoas right
◼
►
so most and then then what else is on
◼
►
your list and then the trip oils and the
◼
►
s'mores are except for the toffee bit
◼
►
one you don't like that one and you
◼
►
declined you try the mint one right you
◼
►
can eat two of these okay
◼
►
can you say bye everybody bye Ellie body
◼
►
test for yummy cookies yummy cookie you
◼
►
they like them to supplement and bye bye
